A Tale of Two Teams

Mark C. Winters compares two leadership teams: one where the visionary and integrator clashed and productivity tanked, another where they aligned and output doubled. The difference was the integrator had attended the Integrator Mastery Forum. When visionary and integrator power match, everyone wins.

Hi, everybody, it's Mark C. Winters, and today I want to talk to you about an experience that I had with two different leadership teams, really different experiences. So I made an illustration. So team A, not a very happy experience. Team B, really outstanding experience. So what's the difference? Team A, the visionary and the integrator in team A, not at all on the same page, would take polar opposite positions on virtually every issue that we had to discuss. While they're doing combat and just fighting in and out on every little thing, the rest of the leadership team is unfortunately forced to sit there and watch this and just get drugged through the mud as they go through it. Team B, whole different story. The visionary and the integrator, 100% on the same page. So it allowed us to elevate the discussion of the entire leadership team on things that were really important and things that really mattered and things that made a huge difference because the integrator and the visionary had spent the time beforehand to. To get on the same page. So the net of it was double the productivity, double the energy, and really double the fun in that whole leadership team. Great experience. So it caused me to reflect back on, gee, why is that? How would I have two such different experiences between these particular teams? Both visionaries, high visionaries way out there, they push high energy, they see all kinds of crazy stuff. So they're very similar, the integrators, both very capable. But the one in team B just was able to have more confidence in working with his visionary, able to have gotten them on the same page on all this stuff before the leadership team got together to talk about it. So why was he able to do that? And when I really looked at it, the difference between the two, Team B, that visionary, he had been through the Integrator Mastery Forum. The integrator from team A had not. And although he's now registered, I should point out, but the Integrator Mastery Forum is all about that. It's all about making these integrators better and more confident through the learning, through the repetition, through the interaction, through the issue solving. It just makes for a better integrator at this point. We've now got hundreds of integrators that have been through the Integrator Mastery Forum and are just frankly doing a better job working with their visionaries and serving their leadership team in the process. So as we look at the Integrator Mastery Forum, we put it out there, we thought it would help, and the feedback we're getting is great. Our Integrator Mastery Forum dates continue to sell out. So I urge you to get signed up now for the next available date so that you can become great. And really, I guess my passionate plea is, if you're that integrator who needs more confidence, who needs to more fully step into the role, get yourself signed up. If you're the visionary that needs your integrator to be able to be stronger and more confident and a better integrator for you, the please get them there. Get them to sign up. If you're just somebody who works with this leadership team, you owe it to that leadership team to make sure their integrator goes to an integrator mastery forum. Please. It'll be better for everybody. So three key things to wrap this one up. Number one, the integrator's power must match the visionary's power. Number two, when it does, when those things match up, everybody wins. Number three, get your favorite integrator to an IMF as soon as possible. So thanks for watching.
