Do Visionaries Attend the Weekly L10 Meeting?

Mark C. Winters says the visionary should attend the weekly Level 10 leadership meeting as a full member, not skip it. Without them, the leadership team is incomplete and less effective, like a wheel with a missing spoke.

Hi, everybody, it's Mark C. Winters, and I'm testing a little bit of a new camera setup. So I'll be curious to hear what you think about this one compared to the way that we normally set it up. So today I've got a question from Don in the Pacific Northwest, and it's a simple question. At least it sounds simple. And it's basically this. Divisionaries attend the weekly level 10 meeting. So most of you probably know my answer to this. And the answer is yes, absolutely right. So we need them in there. You need the visionary to be in your weekly level 10 because they're going to have questions, they're going to have ideas and suggestions. They're going to have insights that frankly, somebody else might miss just because of their unique perspective. And the same could be said for any other member of the leadership team. You know, whether it's sales and marketing or ops or finance or whatever it might be, each representative in that leadership team has a unique perspective for how they're seeing things, how they're thinking about things. And we need all of that perspective to have a great meeting, to have a level 10 meeting. If the sales and marketing leader just wasn't going to attend or if the ops leader just wasn't going to attend, I'm guessing you wouldn't be okay with that. And so I want you to feel the same way about that visionary and embrace them and engage them and and really expect them to be an active, participating member in all of those weekly leadership team meetings. And of course, I think it goes without saying that at the quarterly planning meeting and the annual planning, they have a huge role to play there as well. So just give you a visual. This week, it would be this. If you think about all the different functions on your leadership team and kind of working together almost like a wheel, if any one of those is missing. So if we take the visionary out of that equation, they're gone. It's just not right. Something's missing. It's just not going to work as well.
Okay, so if I'm going to give.
You three key points to wrap this one up. Number one is this visionary definitely attends the weekly level 10 meeting. And number two, the visionary is going to add a unique perspective. They're going to bring great questions, great ideas and suggestions, great insights. And number three, you got to make them a part of the team. And they're there every time, just like every other leadership team member.
