Same Page Meetings

Hi, everybody, it's Mark C. Winters. And today I'm talking to all you visionaries and integrators out there. And I got to tell you, probably the most common visionary integrator issue that we see is that you're not on the same page. The visionary and the integrator are not on the same page. And so what I want to talk to you about today is how do we get to here? How do we get to a place to where the visionary and the integrator, their thoughts about, you know, the processes that are going on, the people, the procedures, the different ideas that they're kicking around, they're just in sync. They're on the same page about what they're doing and where their focus is for the business. This is a very powerful solution. And I got to tell you, if there's one thing that you can do that's going to have a huge impact for your business, it's this tool, the same page meeting. So it's a simple approach and it happens every month. And for two to four hours you're going to lock yourself in a room together and go through this simple three part agenda. Part one is a check in. And we want you to check in on a very human level. It's a relationship, right? I mean, this is kind of like a business marriage. I mean, it's a really close, personal relationship. So you want to really understand, you know, where's your head, what's going on that's important to you. Really kind of plug in and connect with each other around. Okay. Second thing you're going to do is you're going to build your issues list and between the meetings you're going to kind of collect those issues where you think you maybe aren't on the same page. You just want to validate. Here's something you want to make sure you get on the same page. So kind of collect those things up and then in the meeting, you're going to build that issues list together. All right? And then the third thing is you're going to begin to work through those issues and IDS them, identify, discuss and solve those issues. So you're going to prioritize them, work them one at a time. Most important thing first, and you're going to take as long as it takes. So you may be locked in that room some months for a really, really long time. Other months it may happen fast. And it's okay for you to do this meeting in some place that's fun for you. We have some visionary integrator duos that they'll do this at a restaurant over cigars and drinks or they'll do it on the golf course. It's okay for you to have some fun with it. It's a relationship that we're building here. But. But you just got to give yourself the space to deal with all these things so that we can really get you together in sync and on the same page. You owe it to the rest of your leadership team too. I've seen a lot of leadership team meetings where the discussion is all going back and forth between the visionary and the integrator and it may go on for a really, really long time because they're just not on the same page. And during that whole thing, all the rest of the leadership team is just sitting there watching it. They're watching it happen. You're just dragging them through this mess because you two didn't take the time to make sure you were on the same page about that issue. So you owe it to that leadership team to make sure that you are. Alright, so three key points to wrap this one up. This is the one most important, most impactful thing you can do to strengthen your visionary integrator relationship. Okay? Second thing, commit as much time as it's going to take in that same page meeting to make sure that you get in sync and you in fact do get on the same page. Number three, schedule your next one now.
