V/I - Side by Side?

Mark C. Winters explains why the visionary sits above the integrator in accountability charts: it shows who holds whom accountable, not hierarchy. The real work is defining what gets done, who does it, and how accountability flows.

Hi everybody, it's Mark C. Winners and today I'm talking to you visionaries and you integrators.
I want to respond to a question. We get lots of questions and some of them really great. This was a good one. I thought maybe I could help clarify it for some other folks who may share.
The same question comes from Juan. Juan says, I love your videos and the complete model as a visionary looking for an integrator.
They are super helpful.
I wanted to show all your videos to anyone that I'd hire, but here is maybe something that turns me off.
He asked, why do you keep drawing.
The visionary above the integrator in the org chart? Maybe there's a reason I don't see.
But I think your videos will be.
A lot more helpful to recruit integrators if you drew them at the same.
Level or something like that.
So here's how I understand his question. He keeps seeing the visionary above the integrator. Maybe they should be side by side.
That seems to be the gist of what he's curious about.
So to clarify, we don't prescribe an org chart. We teach an accountability chart.
And a key difference between an org chart and an accountability chart is the.
Accountability chart doesn't care about levels. It doesn't care about any kind of a political hierarchy. The objective of the accountability chart is to create absolute clarity around what needs to get done, who's going to do it, and how is accountability going to.
Flow between the folks in that chart.
To make sure that it happens. So as long as you're not concerned about levels, the fact that the visionary appears above the integrator simply indicates that the visionary is also responsible for holding that integrator accountable and making sure that.
They get their stuff done.
In turn, the visionary is being held accountable by the owner's box. We have to call out that single line to have true accountability. We need straight line accountability, eyeball to eyeball. No opportunity for any confusion around that.
Otherwise it's just going to be less effective.
Does that make sense?
So thanks for your engagement. Thanks for the question. Juan, three key points to wrap this one up today.
Number one, I want you to let go of levels and titles and political hierarchy.
Number two, I want you to get crystal clear on what needs to get.
Done, who's going to do it and and how that accountability is going to flow.
And number three, I want you to keep sending in those great questions.
