Hello everyone and welcome back to Cani Crystals, the podcast. I hope that you're all well. This week I am joined by someone who we all know and love. She's been on the podcast before, and now her brand new book, Align Abundance, Release Expectations, Become Magnetic, and Manifest the Life of Your Dreams is out everywhere right now. It's only our good friend Emma Mumford. How are you, Emma? Welcome back to the show.
Oh, I'm good, Mark. Thank you so much for having me again. I always feel like it's great because we can catch up, and we were just having a little catch-up before this. So yeah, I'm so glad to be back. Thank you for having me.
You're very welcome. It's funny as well because I've been on your podcast twice now as well because I did— was it your 300th episode spectacular?
You did, yeah.
That seems like so long ago now.
It does.
Yeah.
Well, I was actually thinking today, I need Mark back on mine to promote his book as well, so we can make it a third, right?
So let's get right into it. We don't need to do introductions here. Let's talk about your incredible new book, Aligned Abundance, which takes a fresh kind of approach to manifesting. So what inspired you to write this book now and how does it differ from any of your previous work?
Yeah, and that's such a fab question because I get this question a lot, and people are like, so does that mean all your previous books, we just get rid of them, they don't work? And I'm like, no, no, like, it's a process, it all aligns. And for me, when it's like a new process, it's not anything new. We know that with the law of attraction, right? But it's really taking it to the next level with those kind of more deeper teachings that I've experienced and learned in my journey over the last sort of 3, 4 years. So I always see like Positively Wealthy like the perfect introduction book, dip your toes in, you know, a great starter book, great fun challenge, and great to recap when you want that reset. Then Hurt, Healing, Healed is almost like that second step in the manifesting process of the inner work, inner world, looking at the limiting beliefs and fears and clearing those. And then Aligned Abundance is almost like that next step as we go into step 3 and step 4 of the manifesting process, trust and let go, where we're taking it deeper. But it's more of an energy-based book, which excites me so much. Um, and alignment is such a huge part of my work and what I teach and has been for so many years now. So I was like, there are no books out there on alignment in the manifestation process, which just shocked me, to be fair. So I was like, okay, here we go again, I'll write the book. So for me, it was just really taking those teachings deeper into what alignment work is, embodiment work, regulation, and where almost we can take manifestation to that deeper level to really magnetize those results that we want in a more effortless way. Because I found that, I don't know about you, Mark, but in my journey, especially in the early days with all the old school teachings, it was much like, you must be doing this, this, this, this, and this. And I've just found over the years that actually less is more with manifesting. And actually, the more energy-based, like, tools and practices that I'm doing, and actually focusing on my emotions and my, um, regulation and my nervous system and my body, that manifestation became easier. And it didn't feel like hard work. It didn't feel, you know, like, oh, my results are based on how much productivity I can do in practices. It was actually like, oh, this is actually a natural byproduct of what I'm saying, what I'm doing, and how I'm feeling. So yeah, in a nutshell, that's the book.
So you talk there about manifesting from a place of regulation and embodiment. Why is that so important? How does that change the results that people are going to see?
Yeah, so as we know, you know, with manifestation, we don't manifest what we want, we manifest who we are. And I think many people hear that quote and they're like, yeah, I get it, I need to become the version of myself who has my desire. But do we really know on a deeper level what that means? And I think for some people it kind of aligns with the old acting as if process by Esther and Jerry Hicks of taking aligned and inspired action to act as if. But really embodiment is a becoming. At this stage of embodiment, which happens in step 4, letting go, in my 5-step process, you already are that version of yourself. You are not faking it till you make it. You're not like, oh my God, can I do that? Or is this for me? You're in that energy and frequency. So embodiment is really a feeling. It's a becoming. It's an embodiment of the inner work and the energy work that you've done in the previous steps of the process to then align with that frequency of, you know, authenticity and alignment within yourself first and foremost, to be able to then align with your desire and with the reality that you want to experience. So for me, embodiment has been game-changing in the process because I think, you know, we've heard about acting as if, and absolutely there's a time and place for it. I love it. But embodiment is really how I see acting as if, because it really is that feeling and becoming and that initiation and upleveling as you're stepping up and into that frequency, a new season of your life where the abundance comes into your life. Regulation as well is such a huge word that's chucked around the manifesting sphere now, which is fantastic because it was never spoken about before, especially when I was researching and writing this book a few years ago. I found through my own journey, through healing and through healing my PTSD and healing past traumas, that the limiting beliefs and fears work absolutely works. So essential. Yes, we need to do it. But for someone like myself, and I know so many people feel this as well, when they set their intentions or when they go along their manifesting journey, they start to feel anxious and they start to feel these uneasy feelings as they're stepping up and into, um, you know, manifesting more money or whatever it is. Um, and they might actually fear or have this like deep-rooted uncomfortable feeling within, you know, within themselves. And I always say, you know, if you've done the inner work, so to speak, and you've done the limiting beliefs work, and you're still not experiencing the results that you want to see. For instance, a comment I get all of the time, which I'm sure you see in your communities, Mart, is, you know, I'm doing the inner work, Emma, I've done it, but my external world is still not reflecting my internal world. And this is one where embodiment work can help, but secondly, where regulation work absolutely has to come first, because our nervous system determines whether our manifestations are short-lived or long-lasting. They determine, you know, what feels safe for our body to receive. And if you are trying to manifest money, and money is such a common one of regulation, and you're trying to reach that next kind of money goal or manifest some money for a house or whatever the goal is, and to your body, holding and sustaining that amount of money is like a threat, your body and nervous system will do everything in its power to work with your subconscious to keep it as far away from you as possible. So you could be doing all the work, all the affirmations, all the journaling, but if your nervous system and your body does not feel safe holding and receiving that amount or that desire, you won't manifest it until you are able to hold that in your nervous system. And this work alone will change everything. When I did regulation work and regulated my nervous system, just manifestation just went to the next level. Obviously, I've been doing this for a decade, so I still had incredible results. I was still manifesting amazing things. But now when I manifest, it's so much more effortless. And the level of abundance as well, is next level. And that was a complete surprise to me because I thought, well, I get it. I get why we need to have a regulated nervous system, but could it really make that much of a difference? But I've seen this in my communities. I've seen this so much now. And I talk about the nervous system all day long on my podcast because of how impactful it is. But yeah, it makes such a huge difference on yourself and how you feel for that emotional regulation, which raises your frequency and vibration, but also in the aligned abundance piece of actually receiving your desire as well.
And you break the book down as well into 3 key teachings as well, don't you? So there's attract, alignment, and abundance. And I think it's great that we've got it broken down like that because I think a lot of people tend to overcomplicate manifestation. What are some of the biggest myths that you're busting in this book then?
As I said earlier, the, you know, more creates more results. I think, you know, there's definitely a kind of misconception that the more you do, the more you'll get, and I feel like there's such almost like a burnout culture of manifesting as well. Like, I don't know whether you see this, Mart, but I do every day. Yeah, where people are like, I just don't have the time to show up for all of this stuff. Like, what should I be doing? Should I be doing all these practices? Emma, I'm doing 10 practices a day and I'm still not manifesting everything. So definitely less is more. And actually it's more about frequency and energy work rather than, you know, oh, you've written down your desire 10 times, well done, here's your abundance. You know, the universe doesn't respond to like, oh, Emma and Mart are being productive. Fantastic. Here's your abundance. It responds to our frequency. It responds to who we are, our authenticity. And when I say authenticity, I think a lot of time people are like, what if I'm not authentic? And again, it's not saying that anybody's not authentic. It just means that you're aligning with your authentic self, who knows who they are, who knows what their values are, and is able to express that. So Aligned Abundance really takes that journey into soul alignment as well and soul desires of are your manifestations in alignment with your soul desires? Is it in alignment with what your higher self and your soul wants to create in your life as well? Because that is what aligned abundance is. And, you know, we've probably all had that in our lives where we've manifested something, or we're like, I really want to achieve that, and we get it, or we manifest it, and we're like, okay, clearly I did not know what was my highest good. Like, what the heck was that? And obviously, you know, we have karmic lessons, destiny, all these things, you know, all these things still exist. Of course we have to go through those experiences to know what we don't want, right? But it's really about, again, aligning within yourself to be able to step into manifestation from a regulated space, because we're always manifesting from our level of beliefs, identities, and trauma. So to give myself an example here, back, you know, 9, 10 years ago when I first started manifesting, you know, I had so much trauma underneath there that I knew nothing about. So obviously what I was manifesting and what I desired reflected that level of trauma. It reflected my beliefs, my identities, and who I was at that time. Whereas now, and I think when people look back, they're like, oh, actually, you know, is it bad that I want different things? And I'm like, no, that's good. You know, that shows your evolution, that shows your growth. And that is what this journey is about, you know, making sure that your desires are in alignment with you, they feel good to you and your nervous system, um, and that, you know, it is something that you want to call into your life. And it's not just because everybody else is manifesting it, you know, it's your aligned abundance.
Yeah, I think Hurt, Healing, Healed especially helped me with my traumas as well. And I think we had this chat when we were at Chiswick for Happy Place Festival, and we were sat in that restaurant on the first night, and I was telling you about how I'd had all this drama with my dad, and I didn't realize how much it was actually affecting me and dysregulating my nervous system until I worked through Hurt, Healing, Healed. Um, so reading this book as well, um, when I looked at the blurb, you mentioned no hustling, no goal chasing. I think that's quite refreshing. Like, how do people shift from a mindset of forcing things to just allowing them to flow naturally?
Yeah, and there's a big focus on letting go, as you can imagine, because letting go is like the one thing that I've had to like master in this process. So for me, it's just a topic that comes up time and time again, and also releasing expectations. I feel like my— as I entered into my 30s, um, 2 years ago, you know, the big thing that I wanted to do was release expectations. I feel like my 20s, I had a whole ton of expectations on what wanted to achieve. And yes, some of them happened, but most of them definitely didn't. Um, and you know, also positive expectations were blown out of the water as well with work, for example. So in my 30s, I didn't have expectations, and I was like, this is really exciting. And it really got me to look at, okay, what expectations do we place on our manifestations? Because we all do it, we all do it. And when we do place expectations, whether they're healthy expectations or unhealthy expectations, on our desires, you know, we are then controlling. We're saying, right, I trust the universe, I believe in, you know, the universe, and it's gonna happen, and like, I believe fully that it's going to be amazing. And then we're like, but I'm just going to take the steering wheel a little bit and just, just help you out, universe. I'm going to control a little bit. You know, it's very sneaky, whether that's through expectations, whether that's through control. And that all comes from a lack of trust. And trust is built in two pillars. The first pillar being lived experience. So someone who has come across manifestation today is obviously going to have a very different level of lived experience than someone who's been manifesting for 8 years, for example. So lived experience absolutely does build that trust muscle, first of all. And then secondly, it's mindset. It's those limiting beliefs and fears. So what has taught us in our experiences to not trust the process, to not trust other people? But a lot of the time we feel like trust is something that's placed externally when it's actually not. Trust always begins within us. You know, the inner always reflects the outer. So I always say to people, if you're not— if you don't have that unwavering trust in the universe, do you trust yourself to manifest this? Do you trust yourself to hold and sustain this abundance? Do you trust yourself to make good decisions? Do you trust your body to hold this as well? Because these were, you know, big epiphanies and breakthroughs I had in my own journey of trust is not this thing we place externally, it's something we hold internally that reflects reflects out. As we know, with the inner always reflecting the outer. So letting go is such— I always say it's as easy as breathing, but it's the hardest thing to master because none of us want to let go. And as humans, we're wired to control. We're wired to want to be in control. It comes natural to us. So it's almost unnatural to then be like, oh, I just have to place my trust in this external force that everything's going to align and everything's going to happen., but we can build on those lived experiences. So I always say to people who are resonating with this, write a list down of all the times the universe, God, Source, whatever you resonate with, has met you. Whether that's with a miracle, whether that's with an answer, whether that's with clarity, whether that's a manifestation. Are there any times in your life where something felt so impossible and against all odds, a miracle, a solution, abundance came to you? Write down these examples because that is your trust list. And then when you have that physical list in front of you, your subconscious mind can see, "Oh, okay, I am supported. Things always do work out for me. Okay, there is solutions that do come in." So having a practical list like that is always the best place to start because you can draw upon that, and you can also add to that as well when more examples come through and more abundance come through for you. But yeah, for anybody who's really struggling to let go of that control piece, obviously there's chapters full of it in the book with exercises, prompts, and tools. But 1 million percent, look at your trust. Look at your relationship with trust, look at your relationship with trust with yourself, because that's where you start. And a lot of the time we think we're in step 4 of letting go, and we think we're like, yeah, I'm ready to let go, I've taken my action, I've done my inner work, I've set the intention. But the truth is, when you are authentically in step 4, it's as easy as breathing. And if it's not feeling like that, you're not in that step. You could be in step 2, where there's some trust blocks around believing you can trust and relax into that present moment and into that embodiment that also happens in that step 4. You might be in step 3 of trust where you're still taking aligned and inspired action to be able to become that version of yourself who has that desire. So that embodiment and letting go piece is natural and happens authentically and effortlessly. It snaps into place. That is that alignment process. So it's not a negative thing if you've got to go back a step or relook at things. It's just showing you where some extra work may need to be done to really get you into that alignment. But draw upon those past experiences. That's something that massively helps me to really look at, okay, this is what I think the problem is, but look at all the examples when the Universe has met you. Look at all the times it's worked out. Has the Universe ever let you down? No. So trust in that answer. And it could be looking at expectations as well. If you are placing unhealthy expectations or limiting expectations, on your desire, if you're holding on to it too tightly and saying, well, it has to happen like this, it has to happen in this time frame, it has to look like this, we're restricting ourselves from all possibilities which we have to be open to in order to let go, embody, and manifest. So it could even be some expectations that are creeping in there.
Definitely. And I think a lot of people that message me, probably the same as yourself, Emma, they, they kind of struggle with self-doubt when manifesting as well, don't they? And it's like one of the, the top things that people contact me about. Like, they just don't believe it's possible for them. But doing these little tips and tricks and working your way through the step processes, it's going to build their confidence, isn't it? And just speaking of letting go as well, what do you think is one of the most outdated Law of Attraction beliefs that you wish people would just let go of?
Oh, good question. Oh, I, oh, I want to say two.
Oh, go for it. We can have two.
I would say that you— so there's two that really stick with me that I again get comments all the time on, and I'm like, there's your block. The first one being that if you have a negative thought, you're manifesting it into your reality. We have 60,000 to 80,000 thoughts a day, Mart. Do all of our thoughts manifest? Thank God, no. Like, they don't, right? Thank God. You know, it's our consistent, persistent vibration, our core beliefs, identities, values that do manifest into our reality. So all of us have negative thoughts every now and again. We are human. We have a human mind. We have a nervous system. We all have past. We all have limiting beliefs and fears. It's perfectly okay to honor and process and feel those thoughts that are coming up because that's where it shifts. When we ignore, when we suppress, when we try to force them down or ignore them, that's when they get louder and louder and become a problem. But when we acknowledge, when we speak to them, when we give them compassion, that's where the power dispels because they don't have power over us anymore. So even just talking to yourself with more compassion and acknowledging those thoughts and feelings that are coming up changes so much for you. So definitely that one. And I would also say as well that you have to be asking for your desire every single day. Yeah, it's all the hustling of manifesting of like, you need to be doing 55 times 5 every day, affirmations every day, this, that, and the other, meditating, visualizing, It would be amazing if we all had the time to do those things every day. I'm sure we'd all want to do some of those things every day if we all had the time. But the truth is that if you are asking for your desire every single day, you're not moving through the 5-step process. You were just asking. And I always give this analogy of imagine if we were in a coffee shop. You'd place your order with the waitress and I was like, I'll have a decaf coffee. I'll have a decaf coffee. I'll have a decaf coffee. You'd be like, Emma, shut up. Let her go and get the coffees. She knows what you want. Shut up. And would that waitress ever be able to go off and make our coffees? And would we ever be able to enjoy those coffees if I'm just constantly telling them what I want every day? Or repeatedly. So I always say asking is great. You have to ask. That is the first step. But no, you don't need to ask every day for your desire because then you're just asking. You're not moving through belief. You're not moving through trust. You're not moving through letting go. And you're not going to become an embodiment of that when you're still asking for it like it's not here. So again, it's just energy and frequency. And again, affirmations. Are you working with affirmations to align with the reality that you want to help uplevel your mindset? Or are you using affirmations as just another tool to ask for your desire? So those would be my two. What are yours, Mart? I'm interested to know.
Well, it's funny because I only did a podcast episode about this just last week, and they were two of the ones that I mentioned as well. Um, but I think, I think it is like the kind of the first one that you said, especially because that's what I get the most messages about. Like, and I think it's just people's, like you said, their frequency and, you know, their predominant thoughts. And like you were saying, we get 60,000 to 80,000 thoughts every single day. And it's like, can you imagine if every single one of those thoughts actually materialized? There's got to be some kind of buffer there, hasn't there? But I just think that people think, oh my God, I thought a negative thought, and you know, I thought badly of a person, I've just scrapped all that 9 months of previous work that I've done in the past. And it doesn't work like that. And it's just as well, because even we probably have negative thoughts all the time, do you know what I mean? But I think, um, for me personally, I think joy plays quite a big part in my manifestation. So I think I just try and, you know, bring joy into everything that I do, because then I find that my manifestations come to fruition. In a lot quicker because I'm— I've got no kind of attachment to it. And it's almost like there's a bit of a block if I put too much pressure on myself to achieve something. But if I have fun with it and I'm joyous about it, it tends to come in so much more quicker, and it's a lot more aligned with who I am as a person, what I want to bring into my life, that kind of thing. How do you think we can cultivate more joy in our daily lives?
Yeah, and 100% with you there, Mart. Joy is the ultimate creator, as Gabby Bernstein says. And like, I notice as well, because joy is such a frequency and energy that's in alignment with authenticity as well. So when you talk about, you know, bringing joy into everything, you're bringing purpose into everything, you're bringing intention into everything, you're making it fun. And as you raise your vibration because you're experiencing fun, joy, all of those, you know, emotions, of course you're going to align with it quicker because you're in those higher frequencies and vibrations to match what you want to desire, um, you know, what you want to manifest. Best. And, you know, when you're in that space, you are probably most likely aligned with a version of yourself who has it, because they're going to be feeling joy and happiness and freedom and love, whatever the emotions are. So I think that, you know, I 100% agree with that as well. But in terms of bringing it into daily life, I think inner child work is the best way to do this, because as adults, you know, life is so serious. And right now, life is so serious, as we know, in the collective. And it can really just dampen your vibe and dampen your spirits when things are serious, they're heavy. You know, right now as we're recording this, we're in eclipse season, Mercury retrograde. You know, there's so many things that, you know, can feel dense and heavy sometimes. And I really feel like just connecting into that childlike magic with our inner child, like they are the key to joy, of bringing back that childlike energy into your life, you know, and just connecting and communicating with them. You know, I even had a moment, um, last week where I was at a hen do, and what we were doing, obviously, was an adult hen do. But for me, my inner child was having so much fun because it was just lighthearted fun. It was joyful. It was celebrating my friend. And I could just feel my inner child was so happy and was like, "Oh, I remember when we used to do this as a kid, how much fun this was, and this was so good." So ask your inner child each week, "What do you want to do for fun with me this week? What should we do?" And do it, whether it's skipping, dancing, baking cakes, going on the swings, whatever. Go and do it because the more we can connect into that just, just, yeah, childlike magic and joyful and non-seriousness as well. You're tapping into letting go, you're tapping into non-attachment, you're releasing expectations, you're becoming magnetic, you're raising your vibration. So you're going to be a magnet for miracles, solutions, abundance, all kinds of good stuff because you're in that energy. And our inner child is such a secret to manifesting as well because they feel seen, they feel heard, and you know, they're manifesting with you too. So yeah, that's my go-to for I love it.
And I've been watching your dance videos, by the way. I see them all on Instagram. So much confidence. I wouldn't have the confidence to do that in public. But yeah. So Emma, you also turned Aligned Abundance into a course as well, didn't you, before writing the book? What insights did you gain from teaching the method that shaped the book?
Yeah, so it's funny because my publisher has like put this all over the messaging and now I'm like, yeah, the book is like so different to the course. Like it doesn't even look like it at all. But at the beginning it was, it was meant to be. So Attract, Alignment, Abundance is my course that I created back in 2021. It was when I really wanted to give people a fun challenge course to really bring them into alignment and really put these teachings in front of people in a really accessible way. So yeah, at first the book was meant to have those 3 principles of Attract, Alignment, Abundance. Now it's kind of like, actually, you've got all this upleveled stuff, all these amazing things. So of course, the themes are driven throughout. But actually, if you've done the course and you read the book, it's like completely different, which is fantastic because it gives everybody something new. But yeah, um, yeah, running that course obviously for the last 4 or 5 years now really, um, has been incredible because it's been amazing to see what that type of process can really achieve for people and what they get out of that. And that's how I really knew, huh, okay, this energy work, this alignment work, people are shifting things quicker they're magnetizing quicker. And we're almost like, I'm, you know, in manifestation, I'm never like cheat sheets or quick hacks because you can't fake the process. You have to go through it. But I was finding that actually you could move through that process quicker through these energy-based alignment rituals and tools and methods instead of focusing on like the kind of 3D stuff of like, oh, you must do this, you must do that. Like, here's all these like really practical, long drawn-out things you have to do. And I realized, okay, it's actually not about how much time you spend doing those practices or tools, meditations, rituals, whatever, it's actually all energy, emotions, and frequency. That's all it is. So when we can master that, people were seeing huge shifts in those 21 days. They were manifesting their desires that had taken them years to manifest. So for me, it was just really like a, huh, okay, this really works, brilliant. So obviously over the years I've developed, added to it, and it was really important important for me to bring Aligned Abundance into the world, the book, because it really then took all of that deeper and like, okay, let's go into more quantum teachings. Let's go more into energy work. Let's really look at what it takes to align yourself with your desire, embody, regulate, and increase your magnetism as well. Turn it up. So that's how it was born. But yeah, it's completely different, Mark. Completely different.
It is.
Uh, we often talk about manifesting material things as well, don't we? So it's always like house, car, money, I think, are the 3 most popular ones that people ask me about. But what about emotional abundance? Like, how do you manifest a deep sense of fulfillment and peace?
Yeah, and you know, it's perfectly okay to want materialistic things. We're human, we all want them. And it's so common when you're at the beginning of your manifesting journey to want those things because you're like, oh, what can I get? I can get all these things, that's cool. So there's nothing wrong with those, and we all have those materialistic desires that are physical things. But, you know, if you manifested that car, that job, that relationship, that money, and felt miserable, would that be your manifestation? Would it be worth it? Probably not. So I always say manifesting is a feeling experience. It's not just what can I get out of this, it's how do I want to feel, what experience do I want with this manifestation. So putting feeling and, you Identifying the feelings that you want in this manifestation is so important because you want to align with those feelings, and that's going to help you in that embodiment process to get that desire by embodying that, as we said with Joy earlier. So yeah, feeling is the most important part. But ultimately, for me, this will look different for everybody. People listening to this may be like, actually, I've kind of gone through that journey and I want to manifest something materialistic, which is good. And honor where you're at, that's your alignment. But for someone like myself who had so much healing to do in their journey, For me, when I came across manifesting, it was never about— God, I did not expect to be teaching it, definitely not. But it was never about money or stuff like that. For me, it was just peace. It was just healing, happiness, and peace. I just wanted to feel happiness at that point. So for me, whenever I feel ungrounded, whenever I feel comparison, whenever I feel like I'm behind or any of those things that we feel as humans, I'm like, wait, Hey, all you wanted was peace and you have that. So everything else is a bonus. So for me, I see manifesting not as things filling voids or not as things giving us something, because our manifestations will never give us anything. All they are doing is adding to the already fulfilled cake that you've made. They're the cherry on top of that fulfilled cake. So when you already experience— so say if someone's like, "I want to feel happiness. I want to feel joy." Even if it's linked to a physical thing, when you are the embodiment of that emotion, you'll manifest it. You don't even have to think about it. So that's why I say, like, feeling is everything. Tap into those emotions. Tap into feeling more joy. And say, for instance, it's joy that's your word. It may not be, you know, like, okay, how can I feel more joy in my job now? That might be something absolutely that resonates, and you're like, fantastic, that's where I need to start. But it could be just feeling more joy when you're at home, when you're not at work. And it might be like, actually, joy is showing up for me in a different area, not related to where I want to manifest. But when I feel more joy in that area, it's going to have that knock-on ripple effect. So just identify where in your life are you not feeling that emotion? Where do you feel there's some opportunities for you to spark those emotions in that area, even if it's not related to what you want to manifest? Because that is what's going to raise your frequency and transform that for you to align with, you know, experiencing joy in all areas, but especially in where you want it be.
I know you mentioned there as well that you did a lot of healing, but beside the healing, what was the biggest shift that you had to make in order to manifest that aligned abundance into your own personal life?
Regulation. 1 million percent regulation. Because when I did the, you know, limiting beliefs, fears work, wrote Hurt Healing Heal, that shifted so much for me. I met Alex, my fiancé, like my work upleveled hugely. Like, there were clear things that upleveled hugely, and there was so much peace and healing. But there was still a lot of dysregulation. There was still, you know, I was still moving through PTSD. You know, I only got diagnosed with PTSD when I met Alex, so it was very confusing for me to have all of these amazing things and still be like, how do I have PTSD? Like, why is this coming up now? But as my therapist told me, you know, it's only when we feel safe safe that our bodies can bring stuff up. So clearly, my body felt safe enough finally in a relationship to be like, right, now's when the real work happens. So I was having these really conflicting feelings of I'm so happy, all these things are working out for me and everything's amazing. But also I had childhood trauma come up that I'd suppressed for 30 years. I had no prior awareness of it and it shook everything I knew. It changed my whole reality of my life, my childhood, what had happened to me, my past relationships. I mean, obviously it made sense and obviously I'm so glad it's come up and now, you know, integrated in body and released. But it was tough. It was really tough. So again, you know, my nervous system needed so much love and care during that time because even when traumas are coming up and you're doing that inner work, it does dysregulate the nervous system sometimes because it's feeling like it's in that moment again. It's processing those things again. So for me, I did a lot of different regulation work. I did spinal energetics, which was a fantastic one for regulating my nervous system, breathwork, meditation, slowing down, avoiding burnout, really looking at my life, my work-life balance. So there were loads of practical things I did, like getting out in sunshine, taking vitamin D, really working to regulate that nervous system. But it was really in in that spaciousness that I created and in that slowing down and really addressing those root traumas and really learning how to regulate myself, my emotions, the anxiety I'd had for years, the PTSD, everything just took to 100 times level after that, which I didn't expect. But it showed me of like, huh, that's been your block, Emma. It's not that you didn't believe you were worthy. It's not that you didn't believe you could achieve those things or have those things. It was your regulation. Your body could not hold anymore because it was holding on to all this past trauma. It felt so much responsibility. I had this belief that more money equaled more responsibility, and heck no, I couldn't carry any more responsibility. So over that period of even writing Aligned Abundance a couple years back, I was hitting an income ceiling and I was like, oh my God, what is this? Where's this come from? How do I get through this? And it was literally through doing that regulation work with my nervous system and unwiring that belief of more money equals more responsibility, and I can't carry more responsibility, everything just went— so whether it's money, whether it's love, whether it's happiness, whether it's joy, when we can teach our nervous systems that it's safe to hold our desires and safe to hold more, yeah, you can't stop the abundance from coming.
And you might have just answered my next question there, but looking back at your own manifestation journey, what's one moment that really stands out for you that made you think, wow, these teachings actually really work.
Yeah, I always say to people, people say like, what's your favorite manifestation? And obviously Alex, obviously Luna, obviously all the things I have are, of course they are. But I wouldn't have any of those things if I didn't have my healing, if I hadn't healed my depression, PTSD. Like, all of those things were so hard and so draining and just took over. Like, anybody who's experienced this knows how much of a mental toll this takes emotionally, physically, everything. Like, even on my body, you know, since I've done this, I've lost a stone. And like, you know, okay, I've been working out, I've been going to a PT, of course, but I'd been trying to do that for years. And it's so common when your body's in dysregulation, if you're eating well, exercising, the body can hold on to weight. So it even showed in like my energy, my body, like when I was really shifting this and showing my body it was safe and moving through these things, Again, just like I felt so good within myself. So yeah, I would say the healing work and this embodiment and regulation work, because I just wouldn't be able to experience and fully take in all the blessings that I have and turn up as my best self for those as well. It's one thing manifesting love, it's one thing having all this stuff, but if I couldn't show up as my best self to my partner, to my dog, to my community, to everything, it's not worth it, you know, like I need to be able to sustain those desires as well. So yeah, yeah, for me it's definitely this healing work because, you know, if I look back to the version of myself 10 years ago when I spiritually awakened, if I look back to the version of myself even when I was 18 years old in the thick of depression, never in my life did I expect that what I feel now was possible because I'd never experienced it. I'd had trauma from such a young age, I never knew what freedom or joy or happiness abundance truly, truly felt like. So yeah, it's, it's strange when I think back because I'm like, God, if you could only show that version of yourself what this feels like now, like, wow, mind-blowing.
If people take away just one key message from Aligned Abundance as well, what do you hope that that would be?
That it gets to be easy and it gets to be effortless. And I think people hear that because, you know, we're all like, manifestation's easy and effortless, and people are like, yeah, for you, like, it doesn't feel like that for me. So I really want people to embody that, and I really want people to embody like it's not something that's for a select few. It's not something that only a few people can do because they're teaching it or because they've mastered their inner world. Yes, all those things, mastering your inner world and doing the work, of course, helps. But I really just want people to ground into like it doesn't have to be hard. It can be easily, easy, and effortlessly. And also how you will feel from that regulation and from focusing on the feeling of your manifestation. You won't even need the manifestation, and it will manifest because you don't even need it. And we know it always manifests when you don't need it or you need it the least. But yeah, I really want people to get off the hamster wheel of like, I have to manifest, or what am I manifesting next? I don't know what to manifest. And actually just really tune into that soul-aligned abundance of what do I want to experience, how do I want to feel, and actually what desires are in alignment with my soul. And also, what are some like secret desires as well? What are things you really want to manifest or achieve or do that maybe you're like, can I do that, or is that possible? Like, I just really want people to see manifesting from a new lens of easy, effortless, magnetic, and that regulation as well.
So what's next for you after this book then, Emma? Like, because obviously you've spent the last 12 months writing this book. It's finally here. You've got your event, you've got your wedding coming up. What else? What else is going on for you? What's next on the horizon?
Well, rest is definitely one of them. And I say this all the time when people are like, what's next? I'm like, nothing. I'm resting, I'm chilling, I'm having time off. Like, I'm all here for the regulations. So there definitely will be some enjoying over, you know, the next few months of all the celebrations coming up and everything like that. But I don't know, to be honest. I kind of, this always happens whenever I finish one book, I'm like, ooh, do I want to write another one? Ooh, there's an idea. So, we'll see. But I definitely think rest, embodiment, joy, and we'll see what happens.
I was going to say, I think the ideas tend to come to you when you rest anyway, because when you switch off from everything else and you just sit back, you're almost letting it come to you naturally. And sometimes my best ideas have come when I've just sat back and just allowed. And just not pressured anything. So you never know, you could get an idea for another book, or yeah, who knows.
Give me a few years, Mart. I need a few years off.

Mom, can you tell me a story?
Sure. Once upon a time, a mom needed a new car. Was she brave? She was tired, mostly. But she went to carvana.com and found a great car at a great price. No secret treasure map required.
Did you have to fight a dragon?
Nope, she bought it 100% online from her bed, actually.
Was it scary?
Honey, it was as unscary as car buying could be.
Did the car have a sunroof?
It did, actually.
Okay, good story.
