188: The egg, the pillow and the podcast ramble
22 May 2025 · 23 min
Mart Tweedy rambles about trying a Harmonic Egg vibrational pod in Sunderland and sleeping on a Be Sleepy amethyst pillow, both of which he says improved his creativity and sleep. He also announces his Limitless audiobook on Spotify and the sold-out Manifest event, now virtual.

Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of Canny Crystals, the podcast. I hope that you're all well. If you are new here, welcome. Not a great episode for you to join me if you've not listened to me before, but my name is Mart Tweedy, I'm your host, and I just want to start by saying that this episode I don't really have anything planned to talk about as such, and as I'm recording this, it's 8 PM Thursday, just before it comes out at midnight. So I've got 4 hours to record this, 4 hours to edit it, and 4 hours to upload it. Oh, pray for me. I've had such a busy week, such a busy week that I forgot about the podcast. How can I forget about you lot, honestly? But yeah, I don't really have anything planned to talk about as such, but I do have some very spiritual stories to tell you, actually. So I'm just gonna go with that because I need to fill you all in on a lot of stuff that I've been up to the last couple of weeks, actually. And obviously I've had some guests on the last two episodes of the podcast, so, you know, I've not been able to chat like I usually do and tell you about how my week's gone and stuff like that, you know, as if we're having a cup of coffee between each other. But a few weeks ago, I saw something on LinkedIn, and I very rarely go on LinkedIn, to be honest with you. But one of my friends had shared that she'd been to this random looking spaceship-like thing called the Harmonic Egg, and it was over in Sunderland, which is about 10 to 15 miles away from me. And she basically, she was raving about her experience, and she said about how this egg thing had changed her life in just an hour session. Now, at first I almost just skimmed past it without reading, but then I saw the words healing frequencies, and you know, it piqued my interest. So she said that she had laid inside of this huge hollow wooden egg— uh, stay with me please— and music was played which made her have an out-of-body experience. So I was immediately like, sold, book me up, get me in for that session ASAP. So I just started Googling it, you know, wondering what it was, and I'll just read out what the Google description was because I find this quite fascinating, right? So this is the Google description: The Harmonic Egg is a large egg-shaped chamber designed for vibrational healing and energy therapy. It combines sound, light, and frequency in a unique way to support the body's natural healing processes, as well as emotional balance and spiritual alignment. It's a wooden egg-shaped pod large enough for a person to sit or recline inside of designed with sacred geometry to amplify healing frequencies and provide a cocoon-like, womb-like environment. The client relaxes inside fully clothed whilst customized sound and light frequencies are played during the session. It uses vibrational sound therapy, usually music, tones, or nature sounds tailored to specific healing intentions like anxiety, trauma release, physical pain, etc. It pairs this with colored light therapy, as each color is thought to resonate with different organs, emotions, and energy centers, aka chakras. A session typically lasts around 40 to 50 minutes. You don't need to do anything, just relax, let go, and receive. Some people report feeling deeply relaxed, experiencing visions, emotional releases, or a sense of spiritual connection. It reduces stress, anxiety, and emotional imbalance. It helps with chronic pain, inflammation, and energy depletion. It balances the nervous system and supports trauma recovery. And it enhances spiritual connection and intuitive awareness. If you're interested in high vibrational healing experiences, the Harmonic Egg is a modern yet mystical option that aligns well with energetic and frequency-based practices. So that's what Google had to say about it, right? So I sat there and I read that, and needless to say, I went straight onto the website, I booked myself a session, I was good to go. So before me session, I was instructed to drink plenty of water on the days leading up to it just to make sure that me body was fully hydrated, and then to just turn up wearing comfy clothes. Nothing else was needed. So as I pulled up to this place in Sunderland, right, the sun was beaming down, it was a gorgeous day, it was a couple of Fridays ago, and there was a woman just sat outside on a deck chair. And when I went over to her, she said her name was Claire. And just before I go any further, Claire's actually agreed to come on this podcast at some point as well, just to talk about this in more detail, because her backstory and the science behind why this all works is actually fascinating. We spoke for about 50 minutes before I even went in for my session, and I honestly think it'll make a really thought-provoking episode. But anyway, I felt like I was just chatting with a friend. She made me so at ease. I told her me story, she told me hers. She explained all about the egg. She told me that there are only 3 of these eggs in the UK. There's a few of them in the US, but there's only 3 of them in the UK. And what are the chances that one of those 3 were pretty much right on my doorstep? So she even explained that sometimes people get the train up from London to see her, they'll have a session, and then they'll go back to London again on a 6-hour round trip. I find that wild. Someone even flew over to her from New York just to have a session. That's how good it is, right? So I had pockets full of crystals, you know, jiggle jangling as I got out my car and walked over to her because I was wanting to take them in the egg with us. But Clare told me that the crystals might absorb all the negative energy that comes flying out of my body during the session, so I chose not to. Anyway, she asked us what I wanted to get out of the session, so I explained to her that, you know, I've been a little bit stressed out lately with Organize and Manifest and with that rapidly approaching, trying to get everything sorted for it, and that my creativity was at an all-time low. And I also said that I had a bit of a dodgy knee as well. That's what you get for not stretching before you go to the gym, boys and girls. But anyway, Claire explained that there are 65 different preset programs that she can put me on, and so she put me on one, I think it was for peace, calm, and creativity, which would also in turn like kind of heal my knee as well. And I just thought, right, okay, I'll believe it when I see it. So I go into this room and there it is, this huge egg-shaped vessel with an open door and a chair placed in the middle of it, right? I took me shoes off, I sat in the chair, Claire draped a few blankets over me. Obviously when you lay still, your body can sometimes go cold because your blood's not circulating as much as when you're moving, so she put a few blankets over me. And then she tipped the chair back so that me body was horizontal but me legs were still up in the air, if that makes sense. And she said that she was going to set an intention for the session. She would then close the door and she would let the program start. And once it started, she said it would run for 40 minutes and then there would be a 10-minute silence at the end just to let my body process what's just happened. Now, she explained this really well, and I'm sure she'll explain it in better detail than what I will right here. You know, when she comes on the pod. But she mentioned about how music and sound is all binary code, it's all numbers. So listening to anything, for your brain to actually decode it into like information, it's doing maths subconsciously. It's constantly doing mathematics. And she said that in a recent study, lots of women with breast cancer were told to listen to violin music, and it had this huge incredible effect on making the cancer or tumor smaller. But the study also showed that there was an even bigger effect on those of them that sat in silence for just 6 minutes afterwards. So that's why she said there's a 10-minute silence at the end, because it allows your body to process everything that you've just gone through. So anyway, she closed the door, the lights went down, and they kind of went this purple color, okay? And the music started. So I just closed my eyes and I thought, I'll lay here, I'll see what happens. It honestly just sounded like I put one of my own subliminals on. It was the same kind of background music, you know, all peaceful, all calm, nature sounds, birds, that kind of thing. I could hear ocean or the sea or whatever it was. And within about 30 seconds of me being lay there, I started to hear a Tibetan singing bowl in the distance. And I thought, "Oh, lovely, she's playing a singing bowl outside of the egg." But then it got louder and louder, right? 'til I even opened me eyes thinking that she'd come into the pod and she was stood to the right of me inside of the egg. Spoiler alert, she wasn't even in the same room as me by this point. She'd already gone back out the front, back onto her deck chair to sunbathe. Now I didn't know this till the end, but that freaked me out a little bit because, you know, as the session went on, I kid you not, there was some weird shit happened inside that egg. That's all I can say. Like Have you ever thrown a pebble into a lake or a body of water that has just been so still that you can see every single ripple right to the edge? And you know how it ripples all the way out, it bounces off the edge, and it ripples all the way back in? That's the only thing I can think of describing it as. Like, this is going to sound weird, but it felt like me eyes were filling up with yellow or gold, and then when my eyes overflowed it felt like it was sending a ripple shooting down me face, down me neck, down me body, right to the tips of me toes. And when it hit me toes, it was a ripple in me skin all the way back up to me eyes. Now, this freaked me out because it actually felt like my skin was rippling. Like, it actually felt like it was, you know, like up and down like a wave. I had such a huge rush of excitement, joy, happiness, peace kind of wash over us while I was in there as well. Like, me body was twitching, me legs kept on jerkin', me hands were being thrown left, right, and center without me even doing it consciously. I honestly really felt like I could feel the energy moving through us. That's the only way I can describe it. And then I heard the music kind of phase out, and the door opened up to Claire stood there, right? And I thought, oh, something's gone wrong, she's come here to fix it. But she stood there and she said, Welcome back, how was that for you? And I was confused as hell. Firstly, I thought I'd been in there about 5 minutes, and secondly, I asked, "Oh, where was the 10-minute silence at the end?" And she told me that I'd had it. Now, I honestly didn't believe her, right, until I came out of the egg and I checked the time and I saw that I'd been in there for almost an hour. An hour! Not 5 minutes like I thought, not 10 minutes, A whole hour. So she give us some water with electrolytes in. She asked about me experiences. She said that when I drive home, just drive home in silence without any music or any podcasts on, which is something that I never really do. But I thought, you know what, I'm going to take your advice. And as I was driving home, right, it was Friday afternoon, maybe about 3 PM as well, so I was stuck in all the rush hour traffic. I was doing the speed limit and so many people were flying past us. And the first thing that came into me head was just, where are they in a rush to get to? Like, it really made me so chilled and relaxed. And then when I got home, I was trying to explain to Johnny what had happened in the egg, and honestly, I could barely get me words out. I almost felt like me brain was just empty with nothing inside of it. And I noticed that all the chatter that I would usually have in me head of 'Oh my God, I need to do this, I've got so much on my plate today, then I need to do this, then I must go here, I must speak to this person.' I felt like all that chatter was just silent, and I think it shocked my body because like I say, I couldn't even speak, I couldn't get any words out. I was trying to voice note like Fran, Francesca Amber, I was trying to voice note my friend Nikki about it, and I even sent a voice note to my Manifest with Mart members, and I had to re-record it 3 times because I was just talking gibberish. It made no sense. I was slurring me words, like, it was so weird. But what I want to say is that since that episode, since I was in that egg, I have been so productive. Like, so productive, like you wouldn't even believe. Okay, that pain that I had in me knee, it's gone. You better believe it's gone. I've been so peaceful, I've been chilled, I've been absolutely hammering through me work. Usually I procrastinate on certain things a little, like we do from time to time, but honestly, I have been so productive, so I'm already planning when I can have my second session. She did say that they don't recommend more than one a week, otherwise I'll be there daily. But like I say, I am going to get Clare on this podcast in the next few weeks to talk about it in more detail, because everything she said to me before my session— like I say, we spoke for about 50 minutes before the session— everything she said to me just blew my mind. Her backstory, how the egg came about, how it works, some of the success stories that she's had of people that have used it. Crazy, crazy, but amazing all the time. So what I'm going to do is I am going to put the link to Claire's Harmonic Egg in the show notes for this episode. So if anyone wants to drop her a follow on Instagram, go for it. She's a lovely woman. If you could ever make it up to the Northeast, please do go for a visit. Next up on my list to ramble about today is the Limitless The audiobook, by the way, not the actual book, the audiobook is finally here on Spotify. Can you believe that? It's been such a long time coming. The Audible version is still awaiting sign-off from Amazon. Thank you, Amazon. They are taking their sweet, sweet time with it all. It said that it would be approved within the next 30 days. But if you do want to listen along and you have a Spotify Premium account, guess what? You can listen along for free on there. Just type in Mart Tweedy Limitless, press on the audiobooks tab, and it'll be there for you. And I'll send everyone an email as well once it's officially out on Audible. I'll mention it on here as well, so don't worry, you Audible lovers, it won't be much longer. The third thing that I have to tell you about is all about something that I was sent about a week ago. So just to put this into context, every now and again I will get things sent to me in the post you know, they'll just post them out to me office address. Don't even like message me about it. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for helping out other businesses and I always shout people out, but sometimes it's really random things that I would never use in a million years. Like a couple of months ago, someone sent me a crystal butt plug, for example, for the new range. Like, how am I supposed to promote a crystal butt plug on Instagram and TikTok with all me family on there? Like a quick reel of me bent over with a crystal hanging out me arse. I don't think so, no thank you. But anyway, this week I was sent this huge box, right? And it felt very, very light, so I was a bit confused. I was thinking, have I ordered whatever this is, or is it something that I've been sent? But I opened it up and the box just read Be Sleepy Amethyst Infused Pillow. All right, this got my attention. So I had a few emails from this company probably a couple of months ago called Be Sleepy, who I will also tag in the show notes for this episode, by the way. So I arranged a call with the owner, Charlie, and I spoke to him earlier this week, and he told me his story. And again, I'm gonna get him on the podcast as well because his story was so moving and very inspirational as to why he created the pillow and the mattress topper infused with crystals when just a couple of years ago he didn't even believe in crystals. But he has a really powerful story including his wife, so I will let Charlie tell that story when he's on the podcast. So, Charlie was quite eager for my thoughts on this pillow, and so I gave it a go that night. And I'm not even lying when I say this, like, this isn't an affiliate ad, it's not an advertisement or anything like that, I'm not getting paid to say this, but since using it the last week, I have had, get this, roughly 10 hours sleep unbroken and undisturbed every single night. I've been going to bed at 9 PM, I've been up at 7 AM. What a time to be alive. Now, I already used to sleep with a huge amethyst on me bedside table for peace and relaxation at night, but to now have it literally infused within me pillow, that's an absolute game changer. So much so, in fact, that I messaged Francesca Amber and Emma Mumford about it straight away, all excited. Like, don't get me wrong, the pillow was a lot firmer than what I'm used to, but my God has it had an effect on me sleeping. And I got used to the firmness probably after the first night of using it, to be honest. So I just want to take it everywhere with us. I'm in London this weekend and I'm like, can I really put that in my case? So I'm already considering buying the mattress topper as well. So yeah, I'm going to get Charlie on the pod soon to talk about that and how that all came about, because I think it's fascinating. And who doesn't love a crystal-infused something or other? Anyway, next on me list of Mart's ramblings, because let's face it, that's all this episode is turning out to be, isn't it? Um, is that I will be at MBS in London this coming Saturday. That's the Mind Body Spirit Festival at Kensington Olympia. Very short notice, but I'm going to be there. So if you are going and you see me, please do come say hi, as I don't know many other people that are going, and I do love to meet new people as well. I'm going along to support Francesca Amber with the launch of her brand new book, which is out in And one last thing to mention as well is that tickets for Manifest on the 16th of June are now fully sold out. So the only way to get in now is by watching virtually online with the virtual admission ticket. And I've been so creative after me egg session, in fact, last week that I've even created some Manifest merch. So we've got t-shirts, caps, keyrings, and notebooks. They are all phrased up with random manifestation sayings that I just thought up on the spot that I absolutely love. They will be launching online very, very soon, or you can buy them on the day at the event as well. You can rock our merch. They're going to be very, very limited stock, however, so once they are gone, they are gone. So I'll share that with you all probably next weekend once they arrive. Very excited for that. But the countdown is on. We've got just 3 weeks until the event. I've got most of the speakers' presentations, and even just reading through them inspired me, and that's without someone even explaining the slides to us. So honestly, I can't wait. We are in for a treat. If you are coming, I've even got a balloon photo wall with a photographer to capture all your smiley faces. We also now have a food truck too, serving up lovely nutritious food catering to all. We've got our incredible exhibitors including Emma at the house who will even be doing spiritual tattoos on people, if they're willing of course. All of this and so much more, as well as all the free workshops, the speakers. It's just so, so exciting. I'm very excited. So yeah, I know this episode's been a bit of a whirlwind, a total mashup of thoughts. I would hate for this to be your first episode listening to me because you'll be thinking, what the fuck is he banging on about? But you know what, sometimes we just need to have these episodes, don't we? You know, the kind where we're not ticking a checklist, we're not diving into one big topic, but we're just letting things spill out heart first. And I suppose today's episode is exactly that. It's a little insight into what's been going on behind the scenes in Martland. And honestly, I think it's important to show that side of things sometimes as well, because, you know, life isn't always polished and planned, um, especially when you're juggling events, you're launching products, you're recording audiobooks, you're having out-of-body experiences in giant wooden eggs. You're trialing crystal-infused pillows, all whilst trying to keep your head screwed on and get a decent night's sleep. But I also think there's something quite magical about those moments when you don't have a script, because, you know, for me personally, I just follow me energy, me inspiration, me curiosity, and I let the universe steer the wheel a bit. And that's kind of what today felt like for me, like me higher self had a bit of a word and was like, go on, Mart, just talk, get the microphone out, just talk. It'll all make sense to someone. And maybe that's the takeaway from this episode, that you don't always need a plan to move forward. You know, sometimes the best shifts come when you just follow the nudge, when you say yes to something random like a Harmonic Egg session, or trying a weird and wonderful product like that amethyst pillow, letting your thoughts tumble out on a podcast mic, whatever it might be. Maybe it's in those messy, unscripted moments where the real magic happens. So if you've been feeling a bit all over the place lately, like you don't have a clear path or a purpose or a plan, I see you, you're not alone. I didn't have a plan for this episode. I've come on and freestyled the entire thing. I've done it all in 2 takes as well. It would have been 1, but I let out a massive fart halfway through mid-sentence, so I had to edit that out. I couldn't leave that in. But you know, sometimes rambling is exactly what leads you back to your center, you know. Just before I started recording this, I sat in silence for about 20 minutes just thinking, what am I going to talk about? I've got 4 hours till this episode comes out. What am I going to talk about? You know, but sometimes that silence, like that 10-minute silence at the end of my egg experience, that's where your soul has space to whisper to you and just give you these little nudges of inspiration. So thank you for holding this space with me today. Thank you for listening to me waffle on and overshare, maybe even inspire you to try something new, or at least give you a laugh about the crystal butt plug. Um, but I've got some incredible guests coming up soon on the pod, like Claire from The Egg and Charlie from Be Sleepy. And I can't wait for you to hear their stories. But for now, I'm going to leave you with this, you know, just trust the detours, trust the moments that don't make sense yet, trust the ramblings because they are often where the breakthroughs begin. So thank you all so much for being here and sticking by me even though I've just rambled. Don't forget to give Clare and Be Sleepy a follow. I will put their links in the show notes. And if you see me at MBS in London this Saturday, come and give us a hug, let's get a selfie. So until next time, keep on vibing high, trust that weird stuff, and remember, the universe is always listening even when you're rambling. Okay, so I'll see you all next Friday, guys. Speak soon, bye!
