Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of Canny Crystals, the podcast. My name is Mart Tweedy, I'm your host, and can I just say before we start on this episode that Monday was incredible. If you came along to Manifest here in Newcastle upon Tyne, all I want to say to you is a massive, massive thank you. We had such a phenomenal day. I couldn't sleep the night before with excitement, right? So I was up from around 1 AM, and then I was pretty much on the go taking everything to the venue and setting up from around 4 AM. So by the time we came to open the doors at 7:45 you know, our VIPs came in, I was actually still stood there in me shorts and t-shirt that I'd slept in the night before. I looked chaotic. Honestly, I must have looked like an absolute maniac because I had to rush around and then go and have a shower before I came on stage at 9. And 4 of our lovely exhibitors unfortunately cancelled on us last minute. Obviously there was a bit of a tech issue because, you know, what's a live event without a little tech issue? Basically, when we were playing music on the live stream, it was putting the video into private mode so nobody could actually view the livestream for the first 6 minutes. Then the videography team sorted that while I was on stage without me even knowing, so well done them. And other than Susie Ashworth running off stage with the presentation clicker in her hand and me having to run all the way up the spiral staircase behind her to grab it back, I think that the day as a whole went without a hitch. We had some really powerful, moving, and incredible talks. There was a lot of laughing, crying, a whole load of emotion, a lot of singing, dancing. But most of all, there was a hell of a lot of community and energy in that, which I found really inspiring. So many attendees had came on their own and they left with friends for life. I love that. I love that I friggin did that. Everyone was just top-notch vibes welcoming them in all day long, and it was just so lovely to see. Now obviously, this is the very first time that I've ever had to run an event like this. And if you listen to last week's podcast episode, you'll know that it was pretty much all me in the planning of it. So I'm mega proud of myself for pulling all that off. I sent out the feedback questionnaire for attendees the other night, and I'm going to say 90% of the people have said that they'd love to come back again next year, which is, you know, it's mind-blowing. I love it. I love it so much. There was a lot of constructive criticism, which I'm happily taking on board, so thank you so much for all of that. I think that the event exceeded my own expectations, but you know, I am always willing to learn and grow from what we could have done better. So I thought I'd just quickly share with you lot some of the comments that I got. So a lot of you mentioned about how it was a very long day. I get that. So we're looking into maybe having a few more breaks or workshops running concurrently, you know, just so that you can choose your day. Um, a few of you also mentioned about the lack of food stalls, as we only had one. Unfortunately, we only got signed off from the council 4 weeks ago to enable us to have any, and by that time everyone I was contacting obviously already committed to other events. But I do hear you, and next year we'll have so many more, I promise. A few of you also mentioned about the lack of exhibitor stalls because only 12 turned up. It was purely a space thing. We did have 16 booked in, but like I say, 4 cancelled last minute, and with us having to move venue a couple of months ago, it was really difficult to place them anywhere else as we weren't allowed to use the streets outside for anything other than the food. So I hear you on teas and coffees as well. Before I go any further, I'd planned a little side table where you could come and get free teas and coffees from in the breaks and stuff, but the venue wouldn't allow this inside, unfortunately. A lot of you also mentioned about the heat in the venue as well. So we did try to open the fire exit doors, but sod's law, obviously it was such a hot day, we were all sat inside this huge tin can burning. Obviously we can't control the weather, but we are looking at other venues for next year that actually have aircon, so you're not all going to be melting by the afternoon. And last but not least, The majority of you, which I was quite surprised at, said that you would have loved to have had either a pre-party the night before to network and meet people, or a post-event party afterwards to debrief. Now, this is something that I really, really wanted to do this year, but when I was thinking about it, I was saying to my friend Nikki, I was saying like, are people actually going to want to, you know, go to a party after they've been sitting down and listening to talks and doing yoga and things like that for 9 hours? But apparently you lot do. So, you know, this is something that I really wanted to do this year, but it just wasn't possible because I knew that I'd be in bed early the night before. I knew I'd be absolutely shattered after the event because it really does drain you. But I'm going to look into this for next year because it's clearly something that you all want. I just need to learn to delegate a lot more out in the planning so that I can maybe get some free time to make these little things happen. Because, you know, I want next year to be bigger and better than this year. And all in all, like I say, 90% of you thought it was incredible, and that's amazing. But I'm definitely taking all of this into account when arranging next year's event. In fact, I've already got a couple of huge venues to look at in the next week or so, and I'm going to make sure that we can really make use of all the space just to allow us to bring you everything you want and more. Because we sold out of presale tickets in just 24 hours. That's 125 pre-sale tickets that got snatched up straight away. And we've also got over 200 people on the waitlist already for early bird tickets now as well. So, if you want to be on the waiting list for early bird tickets for 2026, just head to www.manifest.uk and just pop in your email address and we'll let you know when they're available. We'll be announcing some of the lineup pretty soon as well, and I can't wait to show you who's on there. I honestly can't. Anyways, a huge thank you from me for being part of something incredible, and I hope you all got a lot out of it. It really sounds like you did. I can't wait to watch the replays back because I was flitting around so much that I didn't even get to watch a lot of the action. So I'll be sending out an email to everyone once they're available in the next week or so as well. The videography team are hard at work currently editing everything, and they said that it looks absolutely amazing, so stay tuned for that. Anyway, enough about Manifest. Hi, how are you? Are you enjoying this beautiful sunshine that we're having? It's absolutely glorious here in Newcastle today, and so it should be as well because this weekend we've got the summer solstice. And whether you're someone who marks that with rituals or maybe some sun salutation yoga or maybe even just sipping a cuppa in the back garden, this is one of the most spiritually charged days of the year. So in today's episode, I'm going to talk to you about what the summer solstice actually means on a spiritual level how you can work with the energy of the longest day of the year, and of course, how you can use it to supercharge your manifestations as well. So I'm going to start with the basics, because some of you might even just be sat there thinking, what even is the summer solstice? Why are all the spiritual girlies out there dancing barefoot in fields with flower crowns on their heads? Spoiler alert: it's not just an excuse to light incense and wear floaty skirts, although I fully support both. The summer solstice, it usually falls around the 20th or the 21st of June in the Northern Hemisphere, and it's the longest day of the year. As in, the sun is up in the sky for the longest period of time before it starts its slow dramatic descent into winter. Ugh, can't even think about winter right now. It's June. It's the point where the Earth's tilt as well is most inclined towards the sun. So science-wise, it's all very axial tilt and latitude and solar declination. But honestly, you don't need a physics degree to understand that basically this is the sun's moment to shine, quite literally. I didn't even mean that as a pun. Spiritually though, this is the juicy bit. It's so much more than just extra daylight because this is a celebration of light, growth, and life itself. So think of it like nature's big ta-da moment kind of thing, okay? So everything is in full bloom, the energy is high, the universe is practically shouting, "Look what we've created!" And if we think about our lives mirroring nature, this is the season where you are meant to bloom as well. Like, if spring was the vision boarding, the idea planting season, then summer is the part where the dreams start becoming real, you know, where things start heating up, literally and metaphorically. And you're invited to kind of bask in that success and the progress, the magic that you've been building over the last few months. But it's also a bit of a cosmic checkpoint as well, because the solstice marks the halfway point through the year. And I mean, seriously, how are we here already? So it's a brilliant time for you to stop, look back at everything that you've done so far in the last 6 months, and kind of sit back and go, wait a minute, I've actually done quite a lot. Well done, me. So it's about pausing to appreciate the journey, celebrating those wins, but still keeping your eyes on what's ahead for the next 6 months as well. So yes, it is a bit of a scientific event, but it's also a bloody good opportunity for you to reconnect with your own light as well. The one that sometimes gets buried under to-do lists or daily routines or scrolling TikTok for an hour before bed. So this is your permission slip to shine a little brighter, maybe take up a bit more space, and maybe kind of start showing up for your own life like the sun is finally on your side. So now we know the summer solstice is the longest day of the year where the sun's basically doing a full Beyoncé. It's center stage, the spotlight's on, it's soaking up the applause. But spiritually, it goes a lot deeper than just sunlight and sunburns, because the solstice is a power portal. It's a moment when that veil is thin, the energy is potent, and the universe is practically begging you to check in with your soul. So if the New Year is all about setting resolutions, new beginnings, the summer solstice is about embodying that. It's the spiritual equivalent of standing on a mountaintop with your arms outstretched, saying, 'This is who I am. I'm ready for more.' Okay, so it represents illumination, not just in the kind of, wow, the sun's bright today kind of sense, but in a personal clarity kind of way. So it's a time when you might suddenly see things that you didn't before, or a truth might hit you like a sunbeam to the face. You might actually realize something about your path or your purpose. What I'm trying to say is the light of the solstice is going to shine on every area of your life. So the good, the great, the bad, the— oh, we're still dealing with that, are we? But that's the beauty of it. It's not about shame or judgment, it's just about awareness. So about seeing things clearly so you can move forward with purpose. But it's also deeply symbolic of alignment and abundance as well. So just like crops in the farmer's field that I can see from my bedroom window right now, or the houseplants in my living room downstairs, everything is being grown even if you haven't noticed it. And all these little mindset shifts or those journal entries, those brave moments where you said no or yes when it matters, they've all been adding up. So this solstice energy says you're further along than you think. Now we're going to turn the dial up even more. And because the sun is at its absolute peak as well, this is also a time to honor your own personal power. So, you know, your light, your essence, your ability to make shit happen. It's a moment for you to stand in full ownership of who you are and what you're actually calling in. Not sheepishly, not quietly, but actually like you mean it. So spiritually, the summer solstice is less about being chilled in the sun and more about being charged by it. So it's not passive energy, it's action energy. It's bold, expansive, unapologetic. So it's the kind of vibe where you stop shrinking and you start saying, right then, universe, let's do this. Okay, so Let's get on to how the summer solstice energy ties in with manifestation and the law of attraction, because if there's ever a time for you to align your energy with what you actually want in life, it would be now. So this is prime manifesting season. Like, if the universe had a booking system, this would be the VIP slot. The sun is at its peak, your energy levels are, you know, hopefully higher, the vibes are immaculate. Everything in nature is literally screaming abundance. The trees are heavy with leaves, bees around doing their thing, flowers are blooming. It's a whole mood. And your manifestations, they want to be blooming as well. So the Law of Attraction, as you know, it's all about like attracts like. What you focus on, what you believe in, what you energetically align with, you attract. And the solstice just brings with it this vibrant, full of life frequency that makes your energetic field extra magnetic. So it's kind of like your intentions have a mega phone instead of a whisper. But this is the thing: it's not just about saying, 'I want this,' and expecting it to fall from the sky while you kind of sunbathe in your back garden with a cocktail. The solstice is calling you to take inspired action. It's that difference between thinking about your dream life and actually embodying it, even in the smallest of ways. For example, if you are manifesting confidence, you know, show up to the solstice with your shoulders back, Speaking kindly to yourself, dressing like you've already stepped into that next level self. If it's abundance that you're looking for, check in with your money mindset, be generous with people, say yes to opportunities that stretch you. The point is, the solstice supercharges whatever you're already doing, so make sure you're giving it something worth amplifying. Because the solstice is a kind of energetic midpoint as well in the year, it's the perfect time to do a bit of a manifestation check-in. So you might want to ask yourself, like, what's already come into me life that I once wished for years ago? What's still out there in that energetic field? You know, maybe most importantly, where am I playing small out of fear? This is your opportunity to clean up your vibration, to maybe recommit to your intentions, to turn that volume up on the energy that you're putting out into the world, not from a place of desperation but from deep, radiant belief. So whether you're writing yourself intentions, whether you're doing a visualization in the sunshine, or maybe you're just even planning to stand in your back garden and look up to the sky and whisper, 'I'm ready,' something like that, you know, the solstice hears you, and most importantly, it feels you. Okay, so let's talk rituals, because it's one thing to know that the energy is potent, but it's another thing entirely to actually do something with it. And no, it doesn't need to involve a coven, a cauldron, you know, a 5-hour ceremony under the stars, unless you're obviously into that, in which case go and live your best witchy life. So I've wrote down 6 very simple, powerful ways that you can work with the solstice energy to give your manifestations a proper boost. So number 1 is sunrise gratitude and intention setting. So what I want you to do for this one is just set your alarm, roll out of bed, coffee optional, Just go out and greet the sun. Go out in your back garden, go out in your yard, you know, just stand outside your front door. It doesn't need to be dramatic. Just go outside, face the rising light, just spend a few minutes being truly present. Think about, "What am I grateful for right now? What am I ready to call in in my next chapter?" And then say it out loud, whisper it, think it, write it down, whatever feels aligned to you. The point is you're meeting the new day with intention. And the universe loves that kind of energy. The second point I've wrote down is journaling for mid-year magic. So use this solstice as your mid-year check-in. Reflect on what's already bloomed for you this year, what hasn't, why that might be, you know, what am I ready to claim going forward? And then flip the switch from reflection to activation by writing a present tense list of what you're manifesting as if it's already yours. For example, you could say, "I am overflowing with opportunities that light me up." Just let it flow. The third thing that you can do is a burning ritual. Bye-bye, old energy. So do this safely, please, you know, no torching the patio furniture. Just grab yourself a bit of paper, write down anything that you're ready to release, whether it's limiting beliefs, old stories, that one thought that keeps creeping in saying you're not ready yet. And then just carefully burn it. As the smoke rises, just imagine the universe taking it off your shoulders. You know, bye-bye self-doubt, thanks for your weird advice, but we're good now. Point 4 is Sun Water or crystal charging. I mean, you can do both if you want, but this is the solstice equivalent of plugging your crystals into a bit of a spiritual socket, okay? So put a clear glass of water out in the sun to create Sun Water. You can drink it later, or you can even use it to just anoint your hands before writing intentions, sprinkle it over your crystals, You know, alternatively, you can just pop your crystals out on a sunny windowsill for a solar recharge. Best ones for the solstice, I would say, would be citrine, sunstone, pyrite— anything yellow, gold, or orange, to be honest. Anything that screams main character energy. Point number 5 is to do mirror work in the light. So this one's bold, but it's quite transformational as well. So stand in front of the mirror— bonus points if the sunlight's hitting your face— and just affirm "I am light. I am powerful. I am ready for everything I desire." And then just hold your gaze. Say it again. Make it awkward if you have to, but that energy, that's magnetic. That is embodiment. You are staring at your future self into your own eyes. And point number 6 I've put down here is to move your body with intention. So what I mean by this is just stick on a playlist that makes you feel unstoppable and just move your body. Dance in your kitchen, walk in the sun, stretch like you're blooming, you know. Moving your body is one of the fastest ways to shift your vibration, and if you're stuck in a bit of a funk, this is your permission to shake it out of your body. You don't need to do all of these, just choose what feels aligned and give it your full presence. The magic isn't in the ritual itself, it's more in the energy and the intention that you bring to it, because the solstice is like a golden gateway So whether you're writing, walking, burning, or even just like lying outside in your back garden, let your energy say, "I'm ready! Let's manifest some magic together!" If you've been around here for a while listening to this podcast, you'll know that I love a good affirmation because words are spells after all. And during the summer solstice, those spells get supercharged. So if there's ever a time to speak life into your desires, this is it. Affirmations aren't just like feel-good phrases, they are energetic declarations. They are bold statements that tell the universe, this is who I am now, this is what I believe in, this is what I'm calling in. And when you speak them under that solstice energy, it's like writing your goals in glitter and shouting, yes, universe, I'm ready! Okay, so I've wrote down a few solstice-friendly affirmations to work with as well. You can either jot these down, you can say them aloud, you could even pop them on a Post-it note and just put them somewhere where you're going to see them every day for the next week. So I've wrote down, "I am in full bloom. I honor how far I've come and welcome what's still unfolding. I shine my light confidently and unapologetically. I am aligned with joy, purpose, and infinite potential. I am the sun, radiant, magnetic, and rising every day." So when using affirmations, just try and really feel the words as well. Don't just rattle them off like you're reading a shopping list. Say them with some gusto, with some heart. Stand taller as you say it. Smile as you say them. Imagine them soaking into every cell of your body. This is also a great time for you to write down your own personal intention statement as well. Just something bespoke that speaks to what you're manifesting next. So I wrote down, "I'm ready to step into a version of myself that feels free, empowered, and magnetic to miracles. So write something down, make it yours, make it real. Say that like you mean it as well, and trust me, that solstice energy will meet you halfway. And I know that journaling can sometimes feel like a bit like, you know, "Dear diary, today I had toast," but when it's done with intention, it's one of the most powerful tools for manifestation, especially around big energetic days like the solstice. So it's not about writing perfectly, it's not about grammar or spelling, or whether you've got fancy stationery— although I do love a bougie notebook— um, it's more about getting what's in your head and heart onto that paper. Because once it's out there, you can work with it, you can shift it, you can expand it. So the solstice is a portal for clarity. It's a moment for us to pause and just ask, what's working? What's not? What do I actually want from the rest of this year? And honestly, there's no right or wrong way to journal. What matters most is that you create space for truth to come through, because that's what this whole solstice vibe is about. It's about making time to listen to that inner voice before jumping back into the chaos of everyday life. And honestly, sometimes just seeing your thoughts and desires on the page, that's enough to give the universe the signal. It's like saying, "Alright, I'm ready now." So, that's basically it, the summer solstice in all its radiant, soul-stirring glory. It's not just a date on the calendar; it's your invitation to pause, check in, and realign with who you really are. We wanna honor that light, not just outside but within as well. Because let's be honest, life does get noisy. It's easy to get swept up in routines, responsibilities, and kind of all these 'shoulds.' But the solstice, that's your big, bold reminder that you are allowed to shine. So I want you to remember that this is your moment to celebrate your growth, no matter how small. It's your moment to reflect, to refocus, and recommit to your dreams, not from a place of lack or pressure, but more from a place of power. You don't have to have it all figured out. You just need to show up with intention, maybe open your heart a little wider, and let that sunlight the way. So whether you're doing rituals, journaling, dancing in the garden, or even just taking 10 minutes to breathe deeply and visualize your next level, The point is you're showing up, you're saying yes to your own expansion, and that alone is magic. So wherever you are, however you're marking the solstice, just know that your light is needed. The world doesn't benefit from you playing small, and I've said this before. I want you to stand tall, I want you to claim your space, and I want you to let the rest of 2025 be your time to bloom even brighter.
