237: The quiet phase of manifestation
30 Apr 2026 · 20 min
Mart Tweedy explores the quiet phase of manifestation, where slowing down and trusting the process matters more than chasing visible progress. He spent 30 hours re-photographing crystals and worked with Katrina at Level Up Socials to refine his brand, learning that relaxation invites abundance rather than force.

Hello you, welcome back to another episode of Canny Crystals, the podcast. I hope that you're all well. Um, this last weekend I had such a chilled weekend. I had no work on, on the Saturday or the Sunday, which is unheard of. I mean, it's all because I've been putting boundaries in place that I don't want to be working weekends. But I went to my friend's little boy's first birthday party, and it was just so lovely to spend time with me son, with me friends. And yeah, I just had such a nice relaxing time. It was absolutely amazing. But then obviously Monday morning struck. I went down to me office and I noticed something, something that hit us quite hard, if I'm totally honest. And that's what I want to base this episode about, right? Because there's a season that I've found myself in recently that I don't think we talk about enough in manifestation. And not because it's rare or anything like that, I'm sure a lot of you experience this as well, but just because it doesn't fit the version of manifestation that people expect to hear about. So it's not the exciting bit or the part where everything's landing for you, money's flowing, things are clicking into place, and you're thinking, oh my God, this works. It's much quieter than that. So it's those periods of slowness, you know, where things are a bit more uncertain. And if I'm honest, at first it really tested us because I had a moment recently where I felt that drop in my stomach, that feeling of like, why does this feel like it's not moving? And my mind did exactly what it's been trained to do. It went straight into trying to fix it. So straight away I was asking myself questions like, "What do I need to change? What am I not doing right now? How do I get this moving again?" And what I noticed was how quickly that I linked movement with manifestation. Like, if things aren't visibly progressing, then something must be off. Like, I must have slipped out of alignment somewhere, or like I need to correct it quickly before it gets any worse. And that's such a common pattern. Especially when you're into manifestation, because we're always trying to control the outcomes, aren't we? So you're aware of your thoughts and your energy and your actions. So the moment something doesn't look how you want it to, you automatically assume that it must be something that you've done. So you start checking in on yourself, like, am I thinking the right things? Am I feeling the right things or the right emotions? Am I doing enough in terms of my manifestation practices? And before you know it, you've gone straight into the blame game. Like, you've gone from trusting the process to trying to control it. And I could feel that happening in real time to me, like that urge to do more or to shift something quickly and to get back into that feeling of momentum so I could reassure myself that everything was still working and on track. But at the same time, there was another part of us that just felt tired. So I wasn't unmotivated or disconnected from what I want, I was just tired of feeling like my manifestation only counts when it's visible. I was tired of that underlying pressure that things should always be building or always expanding or always show me proof that it's working, you know, when you're looking for little synchronicities and things. And I think that that's where this season has really caught my attention because I realized I've been holding on to this belief quite quietly in the background that if things slow down, that I must need to fix it, that I need to step in, adjust, push, correct, whatever I need to do. But what if that's not always true? What if sometimes when things feel slower, it's not because you're out of alignment, but because something is actually integrating? So what if manifestation isn't always loud and obvious? What if there are parts of the process that don't look like movement but are still essential for what's coming next? So instead of reacting straight away this time, like instead of trying to force things back into motion, I just paused. That's literally all I did. So I basically caught it in the moment, and I made a conscious decision right there and then not to rush myself out of the season that I was in just to feel better in the short term, because deep down I knew that this wasn't about something being broken, it was about something shifting. And I think this is part of manifestation that really, really, really doesn't get spoken about enough because it's the part where things don't look like they're working, but that doesn't mean that they're not. And I think once I started clocking that, I started to notice something else as well, like how quickly I'd been linking my external reality to my internal state in a way that wasn't actually helpful. Because obviously, yes, manifestation is about your thoughts and your energy and your actions and everything else that we do, but it doesn't mean that every single thing that happens is an immediate reflection of what you've done that day, or that week, or that month, or that year. And I think sometimes we take it a bit too far without realizing. So we start analyzing everything, don't we? If something slows down, we assume that we've dropped out of alignment. If manifestations aren't coming in thick and fast, we assume that we're blocking it somehow, and we end up turning manifestation into something quite tense. Like we're constantly monitoring ourselves, and I could feel myself slipping into that. So I caught myself thinking, right, what have I done wrong here? Instead of asking like a much more useful question, which is what's actually going on underneath all this? Because when you zoom out a bit, you'll be able to see that not everything has actually stopped. Life won't have fallen apart. Things just aren't moving right now like they used to, like the pace that you were used to. And that's when I had a tarot reading with Pat from guidedbyangels.uk last week. I didn't go into this, uh, tarot reading thinking I need reassurance about money or anything like that, but that's where the conversation ended up going. And one of the things she said to us really stuck. She told me that there was a large sum coming to me, but it wasn't going to be through the business. And straight away, it was almost like I felt something soften internally not because I was thinking, "Great, I can sit back and just do nothing now," but because it broke that tunnel vision that I'd slipped into. The idea that everything has to come through one channel, or one way, or one outcome. And it reminded us that manifestation doesn't always show up in the ways that you'd expect it to. But the bigger thing that she said as well, the one that really stuck with us, was that the more I relax and let go, the more the money will come. And I remember thinking, well, yeah, that sounds nice, Pat, but it's quite hard to fully lean into when things feel slower than you want them to, because everything that you've been taught in life tells you the opposite, doesn't it? It tells you that you need to be consistent or to take action and to keep showing up in life, to keep on trundling forwards. So when you hear the words relax or let go, it can feel like you're being asked to do the very thing that might make things worse. Especially if there's a part of you that's already linking slowing down with things not working. But the more I sat with it, the more I realized that I haven't really been operating from a place of relaxation. Even when things were going well, there was still an underlying pressure, almost like a sense of needing to stay on top of it or stay ahead of it and to keep everything moving. And that's quite a contracted way to live energetically because it doesn't leave much room for things to come in naturally. So this season of my life has been about noticing that. So I'm not trying to, you know, flip the switch overnight and just suddenly be completely relaxed about everything, but I'm just becoming aware of how much tension I've been holding, and I'm gently starting to let some of it go. And I think that that awareness started to show up in really practical ways as well, not just in how I was thinking, but in how I was actually moving throughout my day. Because once I stopped trying to rush meself out of the feeling, I had a bit more space to look at things properly. And one of the things that kept coming up for me was how disconnected some parts of my life had become, you know, things that I'd set up years ago that I hadn't really revisited, things that were still working but didn't quite reflect where I am now. And so there was a moment last week where I just ended up spending about 30 hours re-photographing all of me stock. So 30 hours taking photos of crystals, and I know that probably doesn't sound like anything to do with manifestation on the surface, but what I realized while I was doing it was that I wasn't trying to get anything from it. I wasn't doing it thinking, "This is going to make me X amount of money," or, "This is going to fix everything." I was just fully in it. I was taking me time. I was paying attention. I was bringing a level of care and intention, back into something that had become quite automatic for me. So some of those images had been on the website for 5 years with the same light and the same setup, same everything basically. And without really noticing it, it had all started to feel a bit outdated. Like, there was nothing wrong with it at all, but it was just like, it wasn't where I am right now. And I think that's what this season has been showing me in general, that sometimes manifestation isn't about adding something new, it's just about bringing what you already have back into alignment with who you are right right now. So it's about updating the energy of things that you've outgrown slightly, even if they're still working. Because when I looked at everything afterwards, it felt completely different. So the website now, cannycrystals.co.uk, I think personally all the products look cleaner and fresher and more like me. So nothing has changed in like a big kind of way, but internally something has shifted. It felt like I'd caught up with myself a little bit— and that's another feeling that I don't feel like we talk about enough. We're always so focused on, you know, getting somewhere new or becoming someone new or reaching the next level that we don't always realize when we've already changed or when we've already grown and things around us just haven't caught up yet. So instead of chasing something else, this season of my life has been about bringing things into alignment with the version of me that already exists right now, and doing that without needing it to immediately prove itself. And that's where this idea of kind of like a plateau started to look very different for me, because I think a lot of us label these seasons as being stuck, don't we, when we're on a plateau and nothing's happening, like we've hit a wall and we need to break through it. But what if it's not a wall? What if it's more like a pause point where everything is just being integrated? Because when I look at it honestly, I'm not where I was a year ago. Like, yes, I feel like I've plateaued for a year, but I'm not at the same place in my mind or, you know, in any other part of my life that I was this time last year. Me thinking's different, me standards are different, the way I approach things is different. But I don't think I'd fully allowed myself to settle into that. So it's almost like I've grown but I'm still operating at the pace and patterns of the old version of me, and that creates a bit of a mismatch, doesn't it? Because you're trying to move forward, but something underneath is still playing catch-up. So things feel a bit off or a bit slower or maybe even a bit harder than they might need to be, and instead of recognizing that, we tend to just push through it. We try to force momentum on top of something that hasn't fully stabilized yet. But this season has felt like it's asked me to do the opposite and to stop trying to push past it and actually just land in it, to let things settle, to let the internal shifts fully integrate before trying to build on top of them. Because manifestation isn't just about calling things in, it's about becoming the version of you that can hold what you're asking for. And that doesn't always happen at full speed. Sometimes it happens in those quieter phases when not much looks like it's changing on the outside, but everything is adjusting underneath. So it could be that your standards are shifting, or your identity is, uh, catching up, or your capacity might even be expanding. And if you rush that part, or if you try to skip past it because it feels uncomfortable or slow, you can end up recreating the same patterns at the next level. So instead of seeing this like little season of your life as a plateau, I've started to see it as preparation, almost like something is stabilizing or something's being refined. And it might not be obvious yet, but it's necessary for what comes next. And that's a very different energy to move from. And when you start to see it as preparation rather than something to escape, it naturally changes how you respond because Instead of asking, "How do I get out of this?" you start asking, "What actually matters to me right now?" And for me, that's been getting really honest about what I don't need to be doing. So there are a lot of things that I could be doing right now that would make me feel busy or that would give me that short-term sense of momentum. But when I really look at them, they're not coming from alignment. They're coming from that old pattern of me trying to stay ahead. Trying to make sure that everything keeps moving at a certain pace. So I've consciously not gone there. I've not tried to fill every single gap in me diary, or I've not rushed to create something new just for the sake of it, and I've not pushed myself to be constantly visible just to reassure myself that I'm doing enough. And that's been uncomfortable at times, because when you've been used to operating in that way, slowing down can feel like you're doing something wrong, like you're missing an opportunity, or you're letting something slip. But at the same time, I've been supported to show up in a way that feels much more intentional. I've started working with Katrina at Level Up Socials again. She actually used to work with me about 4 years ago, and she's come back in with a totally fresh perspective. Basically, she's not telling me to do more for the sake of it, but she's helping me refine my message and how I show up. So she's helping us think about what I'm actually saying and how it lands and how it connects to the audience. And it's a little bit of a fire under us, I won't lie. It's not that kind of go, go, go, post 3 times a day energy. It's a lot more focused, it's more considered, and it feels more like I'm actually choosing how I show up rather than just reacting. And I think that's the difference that I am really learning in this season. That it's not about doing less or doing more. It's about doing things from a different place, from a place where I'm not trying to force an outcome. I'm allowing things to build in a way that actually feels aligned with where I am right now. So if things feel a bit slower than you'd like, or quieter right now, or not quite where you thought you'd be by now, it's very easy to just assume that something's gone wrong. That you've slipped out of alignment, or that you need to fix something, or that you need to do more, or be more, or change something really quickly. But what if that's not what is being asked of you? What if this isn't a sign that it's not working, but it's a sign that something is just settling inside, that something is integrating, that you're being asked to become the version of you that can actually hold what you've been asking for rather than just calling it in? Because manifestation isn't just about the moment that things arrive, it's about who you are when they do. And that version of you isn't built in constant urgency. It's built in those quieter moments where you choose not to panic or you choose not to force things back into motion just to feel better, you know. So if you're in that kind of season right now, I just want you to consider that you're not behind. You might just be in the part of the process that doesn't get shared as much. It's the part where things don't look like they're working, but that doesn't mean that they're not, you know. That's not always easy, but I'm right there in it with you. So what I'm starting to feel even now is that there's something quite powerful about not rushing this, about just letting it be what it is. So still showing up, still moving, still doing what feels aligned, but without that constant pressure to make everything happen faster than it needs to. We just need to chill out and relax. And for me, that feels like a different kind of manifestation altogether, one that's not built on control but on trust instead. So I hope that this message is what you needed to hear today. Um, don't ask me why I even chose to do this episode. I just feel like so many of us right now needed to hear this message. I feel like so many of us try and do so much, especially when it comes to, you know, manifestation. Like, we'll try to visualize first thing in the morning, we'll do our gratitude list, we're trying to use our crystals, then we're doing EFT, then we're doing affirmations in the car, then we are doing a meditation in the afternoon, then we're grounding ourselves. And it's like, it all gets a bit too much, doesn't it? And then we start to kick ourselves by thinking, oh my God, my manifestation hasn't come to me yet, it's because I'm not doing enough. So I don't want anyone to reach the burnout that I reached a couple of weeks ago because it was nasty. It was really, really nasty. I've never had that, that level of burnout and anxiety for a good long few years, probably since I worked in the NHS, to be totally honest. So for that to rear its ugly head Yeah, it was nasty. I don't want to see anybody else in that position, so I guess that's why I recorded this episode today. But I hope that you've enjoyed it. Um, I know I mentioned last week about our subliminals. We've had some insane results on the website from them over the last couple of weeks. Um, we had one woman that got a £15,500 tax rebate, I think it was, if I remember rightly. Um, and she listened once to the wealth subliminal. This is how wild they are. They rewire your subconscious. They're available on the website right now. Head to cannycrystals.co.uk, click shop from the main menu, and then click on subliminals and downloads. Or you can just type the word subliminal in the search box on the website. You'll see them all. There are 24. I've tried to tie them into every single scenario that you'll need in your life. There's ones for body confidence, which helps with like, um, exercise motivation and eating healthy. There's ones for insomnia. There's ones for burnout recovery. Honestly, every kind of scenario I have tried to tailor something for. So if you can think of any that I've missed that you would really love a subliminal for, let me know. info@cannycrystals.co.uk, drop me a DM on Instagram, I'm @cannycrystals, and I will record it for you and I'll get that popped onto the website. But yeah, I hope that you've enjoyed this week's episode. Please feel free to leave me a rating, a review, subscribe, whatever it is that you can do to help me out. It's totally free for you to leave me a review, and it really helps me out in ways that you can't even imagine. So thank you, thank you, thank you for listening. I hope that you have an amazing week ahead, and I'll see you all next Friday for another episode. Speak soon, guys. Bye!
