This is a YouTube video titled "Don't Say This In Sales | Sales Tips Shorts" containing a sales advice talk recorded on November 23, 2022. The speaker, Jeremy Minor, shares tips on language to avoid in sales conversations to prevent negative client reactions, focusing on terms like "cheap," "best," and "contract." The content is a monologue providing practical sales communication guidance.
These are three things that you should really never say in a sales environment because they just get people's heckles up straight away. There's an old meme that's kind of floating out there in the ether, which is like $500 client, and it's like all these questions and it's $50,000 client. It's just, hey, invoice paid cheap clients are terrible. They're always the ones who give you the most amount of headache and it's just not worth it. So if you're describing yourself as cheap, those are the people that you're going to attract and you're going to put off the people who want value. The second one is best. The reason why best is just a complete throwaway is because everyone describes themselves as the best. Like, even the bad guys in movies, like, they don't think they're the bad guys most of the time, they think they're the good guys. Like, it starts to mean nothing. So never use the word best. And the last one is contract. You never, ever, ever want to say, hey, just sign the contract, or do this with the contract. Jeremy Minor, who's my mentor, told me, you always say, authorize the agreement. So if you have a product or service and you're using the word cheap best, or using contract, when you're trying to get someone to sign a contract, you're doing yourself a massive disservice.
