The biggest game changers in how I manage my executive is something called WIPs. So work in progress reports, and this is how they work. Okay? So every single week we have basically a Gantt chart of the people, right? The project, and each individual task, and who's assigned each individual task. The executives come to me, whatever the department is, and they go, these are all the people that are doing the cogs in the wheel. Project management is just the ability to get the cogs together at the right time, because if one cog doesn't go in at the right time, the whole project falls apart. And so they have to know exactly where everybody is, what everybody's doing. And then I want to know that they're doing more than just handing out the tasks. They need to be innovating, they need to be coming up with other projects. They need to be doing some of that stuff themselves. Because if all I see is the projects that I've handed down and them handing them out, I go to them and I go, so why do I need you if all you're doing is handing out the tasks? For the projects that I do, I can hand out those tasks. That's pretty simple. So then they have to explain like, no, I'm doing all these things, which keeps people accountable. And if your staff isn't accountable, then they're fucking useless. With a good web system, you can see everything that's happening and you can understand how all those cogs fit into together, and you can make sure that they do. And here's a fun tip. If somebody came to me with a wit meeting and they were not prepared, I would just go, try again next time. And I would end the zoom. Because why are we wasting that time? You're an executive, you should be better than that. You don't be unprepared. It's fucking ridiculous.
