This is a YouTube video titled "Favorite Thing I Do In My Business | Matthew Ryder" featuring Matthew Ryder discussing his approach to business negotiations and consulting, including setting performance targets and bonuses based on sales uplift. The content is a monologue by Matthew Ryder sharing practical sales and negotiation strategies.
One of my favorite things that I do in my business negotiations is like, we do a lot of consulting. So we'll come in, do an order of the business that costs like 50 grand or whatever. We come in, do an order to the business, and then from there we'll give like, hey, these are all the things that I think we're doing wrong. And these are some low hanging fruit. And they go, perfect. And I go, hey, if you want us to fix it, it costs this much. And they go, yep, that sounds great. And they go, hey, I'd like to set a target because I'll be held accountable. I was able to give you a 30% uplift in sales. That would be over the next 12 months. You know, that's a $300,000 a month uplift. Over the next 12 months. There'd be $3.6 million or whatever, 3.2. That. Would it be reasonable for me to ask for $100,000 bonus if I made you an extra 3 million bucks? They go, of course I would. And we go, perfect. Well, that's what I'm asking for. And it's very difficult to say no to. It works really well in everyday life. Something that you can translate from sales all the way through to whatever it is you want. True story.
