Matt Ryder says most sales content fails because creators lack real selling experience. He's been selling since age 26, worked across outbound, inbound, phone, and face-to-face deals for years before coaching, and still sells now. That depth beats repackaged advice from influencers with only months or a few years in the field.

Most sales contact flops online because most of the people doing it spent like six months of their life selling and then they became a sales influencer. I spent about seven or eight years full time selling before I ever talked about coaching or did any sort of sales coaching. And I'm one of the rare people that still sell now. So I've been selling like in my own business dialer full time and that's like my main sort of day to day gig. So I'm still on the tools. But most people who do social media content either one, haven't sold in years or two, never really sold much to begin with, or they've sold like one type of thing. I've sold in many different industries, outbound, inbound, like on the phone, zoom, like face to face, done all of the different modalities and you just learned a lot. So there's a vast sort of resource of knowledge and experience because I'm 41 years old and I've been selling since I got out of the army when I was like 26. Whereas if I had started doing content when I was like even five years into selling it would have been comically dumb and, and I would have to be regurgitating the same crap that I see other people talk about all the time, pretending like it's novel and new, whereas in reality it's just a concept that I don't truly understand because I never had to actually learn it for myself. I was just taught it by somebody and now I'm just packaging it in a slightly different way. And that is why most sales content online sucks.
