What can we do to increase employee retention? Having realistic expectations is key. If you bring someone in, especially a sales rep with an expectation of making a load of money, like they don't do that straight away. It's a crappy expectation. What I said to people is listen, you can make a good amount of money here, but you're going to have to work hard and it's not not super easy. Then I'm going to start you off in a more difficult way because I feel like that's a better way for you to come in but you might not like it and that's fair enough. But if I start you any other way, I just don't think you're going to go that well. Then from there I think having a rewards and recognition program is something that' important and ask them what they want. Some people want recognition, some want money, some want status, some want time with you.
