Matt Ryder was broke four years ago, borrowing money for his wife's medical tests while managing gyms. He negotiated a $60,000 exit, pivoted to online selling and coaching, and made $12,000 in his first week. Now he runs a $40 million annual business.
I was really broke probably 4 years ago. We were really struggling. We had $6,000 a month worth of rent. I had a 3-year-old pregnant wife. We had to borrow the money from my father-in-law to get the Down syndrome test. And I was so unhappy doing what I was doing because I was not being listened to. They weren't running the gyms the way I wanted them run. And then like, I just wasn't making enough money and I just went, I'm out. Wow. Negotiated a piddly little exit. I think it was $60,000 over 12 months. That $60K was basically enough for me to pay my bills. And that's when I started doing online selling. My first week of high-ticket coaching, I made $12 grand.
