This is a YouTube video titled "Ideology As You Age | YouTube Short" containing a multi-speaker conversation discussing how political ideologies and perspectives tend to change as people age, particularly in relation to parenting and generational views. The speakers reflect on the idealism of youth, the shift toward conservatism with age, and the dynamics between parents and children as they grow. The content was created in May 2023.
Guess what phase I'm in with my kids right now? They idolize me.
It's a good phase.
They love me. I don't do anything wrong today. Right?
Give it a couple years where they're.
Going to say, what?
Dad, you have no clue what you're talking about. All you care about is capitalism. Do you know the roots of capitalism? How could you that? How could you?
And I'm going to say, okay, bro, I'm patient. And in about 10 years you're going to realize how of an idea you're buying into right now.
I'm patient. Don't worry.
I like this. You're really idealistic when you're younger. And so a lot of the time it's going to lead you to, like, more of a left ideology. And then I think as people get older, they, generally speaking, become a little bit more conservative because they probably get a little bit more jaded. Realize that not everybody has everyone's best interest at heart. But at the end of the day, I think that everyone's striving for the same thing. It's just that there's two different ways of looking at it. But it is funny because as your kids grow up, and I've got very little kids, as your kids grow up and they start to think they know more than you, I hope I can be nice and patient and just kind of go with the flow on that one.
