This is a YouTube video titled "Interrupt Someone if You Want Them to Like You👆 | Matthew Ryder" featuring Matthew Ryder discussing communication techniques in sales and networking, specifically the strategic use of interruptions to show active listening and improve interactions. The content was created in October 2023.
People will like you more if you interrupt them. Now I know it kind of sounds crazy and weird but like just hear me out when you're on a sales call or in your networking environment or when you're just talking to somebody interrupting a seem like sort of gross thing of people who don't listen. But in reality when done correctly and when interjecting correctly interruptions interjections are actually a sign that you're listening properly. It's never rude to interrupt or interject to someone if you're going to ask them about something they have said or done especially when it's right there and you're pro probing are clarifying. But the actual good sales reps the ones who are making you know lots and lots of commissions and making lots of sales are just listening to the prospect and that's the only thing that happens. So if something is said that they don't quite understand they have to probe they have to clarify because they need all the context.
