Matt Ryder coaches a $40M/year CEO through a $30,000 marketing decision. The CEO wants to stop failing at social media but hesitates on price. Matt breaks down the payment structure, pushes past the "sleep on it" habit, and uses a diet analogy to create urgency around starting now.

Money aside, though, do you feel like this could be the answer for you?
Yeah, I think it could be.
Is it the upfront amount that's kind of making the risk tolerance a little bit hard to bear? If we broke it up for you, like, would that help? Yeah, breaking it up, that could help. Do you want to have that conversation?
I just want to go to the team, just make sure my partner is 50/50 on this thing.
And in terms of like delegation and priorities in the business, you guys have kind of set roles?
I'm the CEO.
Ultimately, who is the person who bears the responsibility whether this works or fails?
I mean, I guess at the end of the day, buck stops with the CEO.
So it's me. All right, cool. And do you feel like this puts you in the best position possible to be able to actually achieve your outcome? If it worked, yeah. Cool, man. How do you want Proceed from here.
The way I make decisions, I always just sleep on it.
You kind of 100% happy with where you're at in terms of social media, XYZ?
No, I'm not.
And so that kind of decision-making process has caused you to, I guess, ultimately not be happy with your results. How much longer do you want to allow that decision-making process to dictate the results of the business moving forward?
I wouldn't want this to have us keep getting these results on social media for much longer.
Much longer? You could start your diet on Monday, or you could just start it now. Which one benefits you more? So what are the tangible action steps that you as a CEO need to take in order to put your business in the best position to be able to actually achieve the outcomes that you want?
I guess I just need to, like, make a decision.
And how much longer do you want to put off making a decision?
Well, not much longer. It's a pretty big investment from our marketing side. Do you feel like if you were making more money, it would be less of an investment? It would be less of a hit. Yeah.
How much longer do you want that to be a big hit?
Well, I don't want it to be a big hit.
So what do you need to do to make $30 grand a relatively investment for you?
I guess I got to invest. Let's move forward. What are next steps?
Give me $30 grand, motherfucker. I think the key is the systematic approach. It's not about the word tracks. It's just seeing a problem and then getting the person to overcome it themselves. I can say, yeah, but you should just do it. It's just not going to be very meaningful to that person. I handle money. I handle partner. We're now in to like think about it territory. So I just have to make this person more certain. I also have to make them okay with making a decision where there is no absolute certainty. And if that's what you want, then you're waiting for something that can't be delivered.
