An entrepreneur who built multiple eight-figure startups credits his success to the OODA loop, a decision-making framework from special-operations snipers: observe, orient, decide, act. He explains how it cuts through analysis paralysis and why hindsight is the only real judge of whether a decision was right.

I built multiple eight figure startups and one of the reasons why I've been able to do this kind of time after time successfully is because I've taken a concept from my background as a special operations sniper and I've taken that into business and that's called the OODA loop. And it's a decision making process that anyone and you can use in a high stress or environment of where you like potentially going to get stuck, right? Because you don't want to be that guy that's like in the fatal funnel, right? You know what I mean? You walk into a door, you can't pick a corner because you're a bit of a pussy and then from there you end up getting D E D dead right? So the OODA loop is observe. So what's going on? Orient, orient towards the goal and then you decide and then you act. Okay? So it seems really, really simple. But if you go back to those baseline principles, those are principles that are designed in high stress environments to be able to have a brain default. So it's like I observe, orient, decide, act. Okay? There's no hesitation in there, there's no nothing. It's. You'll never know if you made the right decision unless you have the power of hindsight. So the key is just making the best informed decision that you then learning from it. And over the course of time decision making gets better and better and better. So if you're someone who gets stuck or you're like just get processed by analysis, just observe, orient, decide, act.
