Offers to AVOID as a Closer

Matt walks through red flags to avoid when taking a closer job: high commissions, regulatory problems, and companies that rely on just one marketing channel. Know what to watch for before you sign on.
Hey, guys, what's up? Matt here, just a tip for you. Today's going to be about what offers to avoid as a closer. All right? So there are a few things that you need to know when you're going into a relationship with a business. And some things and some red flags that you can see right away where you should just cut ties and run. Now, these aren't rules where every single time you have to do this. This is stuff that I have found out and I have discovered in my sort of travels along the way of things to avoid. The first, the first thing is anything with really, really high commissions. 30, 40, 50, 60% commissions, they're almost always scams. No decent business can really afford to pay you that much. Otherwise there's something not being paid for on the other side of that. And a lot of the time it's client delivery or product delivery. It's really easy to pay massive commissions if you have no intention of actually doing what you say you're going to do, right? And so when someone offers you really, really high commissions, you need to look into that because don't just get distracted by the dollar signs because they might not be delivering what they say and that's going to wreck your soul. The next thing is anything frowned upon by the SEC or like the government, right? So I'm talking about certain biz op stuff. It's not going to be around for a long time. It can be a little bit scammy and stuff like that. Some of it's good, some of it's not. But at the end of the day, you don't really want to be involved in anything that's going to have a limited life on it because of government intervention. That's just not good for anybody. And the last thing, any business that doesn't have multiple marketing channels, all right, I've been on that many accounts where they're like, man, have more leads than you know what to do with. I get in there and there's two a week, right? And it's like, oh, but last week we had a hundred. It's like, well, that was last week, mate. And now I definitely believe in going out there and hunting for your own leads and all that kind of stuff. But at the end of the day, like, if they don't have Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google organic as well, right? Podcast, YouTube, all this kind of stuff, if they're not doing all the things on their end, why should you do all the things on your end? So those are my types of businesses or things to look for in a business to avoid as a closer. All right, guys playing Sam.
