A South Carolina professor worried a student used ChatGPT to write an essay. The speaker argues this fear is overblown, comparing it to early panic over calculators in schools. Technology should elevate learning, not be banned.
Professor catch a student cheating with ChatGPT, I feel abject terror. Let's see this guy. A South Carolina professor is sounding the alarm after catching a student using ChatGPT to write an essay for his philosophy class. If a teacher is worried about this, looking at everything the wrong way, this is a phenomenal way. Like, now we don't have to worry about the bull stuff, and we can teach higher level stuff. We can elevate the education and thinking of human beings. This is the equivalent of a math teacher being scared of a calculator. Like, it's ridiculous. Like, I guarantee you, when calculators first came out, if we went back, we could find articles of like Math Teacher Freaks out for Magic Calculating Machine. But I mean, if this academia guy is really worried about this, then he should just be better at his job.
