This is a YouTube video titled "So Stupid, I Just Couldn't Deal With Them | Sales Skills" containing a monologue or talk from May 25, 2023, discussing a sales-related anecdote about an Australian banking startup with unrealistic sales expectations and budget. The speaker narrates their experience dealing with the company's approach to sales strategy and budget allocation.
We had a company reach out to us a while ago, and it's like, they're an Australian company, they've borrowed money. Two of the guys who are starting it were ex CEOs of the big two of the big four banks. And it's a banking solution for banks. They sort of had the big. The big four banks covered because they're all friends. So they were like, we can get those, but we really need to make one sale a year of the regional banks. Is it. I was like, what salespeople do you have? Oh, none of us have background in sales. And like, dude, their budget was like 15 grand. To do the entire sales process from where to go for a company needs one sale a year, and it's like hundreds of millions of dollars. Yeah, right. So I was like. I was like, so you, you have targets of a couple hundred million dollars a year right now. You have zero revenue, zero way to get to it, and you think 15k is an appropriate budget to get there? They go, yeah, yeah. And we go. I go, okay. All the best of your future endeavors. I. I didn't even take the call any further because I was so. Doesn't stack up. I was like, you're so stupid. I don't know how to deal with this.
