A short YouTube sales-coaching monologue by Matt Ryder advising outbound callers not to sound flat or scripted. The speaker—drawing on experience running high-volume dialer programs and coaching others—urges callers to sound genuinely happy and engaged when someone answers, gives concrete example phrasings (e.g., casual, enthusiastic openers), and argues this improves rapport and response rates on outbound calls.

Hey, guys. One of the things that I see people who are doing outbound do wrong all the time, and this is across me seeing millions of dollars a month on dialer, but also coaching lots of people and doing outbound myself, is that they have taken, like, the sales trainers that say, like, don't be enthusiastic, and they've taken it to, like, the nth level, and they sound like they're dead inside. Okay. It's like, hey, this is Matt from xyz. When you're outbounding and when someone picks up the phone, you just sound like you enjoy your job and that you're a happy person. Nobody wants to talk to someone who's fucking miserable and like, hey, this is Matt. How are you? Looks like you'd reached out about possibly get some help. Okay. It's like, hey, man, what's going on? This is Matt. So that you reached out, dude, how can I help? Okay. Like, that's not over the top. That's just you being a happy and engaged person, and you will get far better results from your outbound if you do that.
