The EASIEST Way To 2.3X Your Sales Without "More Sales Training"

Matt Ryder breaks down how to 2.3x sales by improving pickup rate, show rate, booking rate, and close rate. Skip the training courses and fix the metrics that actually move the needle.
In this video, I'm going to give you the simplest and easiest ways that you can make more sales. If you troll through YouTube or Instagram or anywhere else, you're going to find a whole bunch of sales trainers telling you that you have to get better at sales. They're going to teach you objection handling and teach you framing. All that kind of stuff is great, but it's not the simplest and easiest way and fastest way for you to actually make more sales. Hi, my name is Matt. I used to dial leads all day, every day, eight hours a day, selling fitness leads over the phone. And then I graduated to doing high ticket sales and all kinds of other industries, making over $100,000 a month personal income as a commission. Only closer went and scaled multiple businesses to seven and eight figures. And I've done a lot of outbound sales and inbound sales. And I am here to tell you that there are better ways to do it than just spending thousands and thousands of dollars in sales training. So in this video, I'm going to give you those secrets, I'm going to break them down exactly how you should be looking at this so that you can make more sales without actually having to get any sales training. All right, guys, so there are a couple different ways that you can make more sales. But one, one of them is through process and activity. Process and activity is something that everyone can do. You can do it now. You don't need training for it, you don't need to do anything. It takes a long time to get better at, okay? So if you're looking at like doubling your close rate, that could take a year, two years, three years depending on what you're selling, your natural acumen for it, how good you problem solve, et cetera, et cetera. But there are certain things that you can do now that are going to legitimately start increasing your ability to make more sales tomorrow, okay? And that's by talking to more people and getting a higher lead to set getting a higher lead to sale. And I'm going to break down the strategies that you can do and I'm going to show you using calculators where you should be putting your time, your effort and your energy in getting better or increasing the effectiveness of those particular things. And these are simple things and I'll give you some strategies for each one that you can do in order to actually get better.
Okay?
So if we have a look, one of the best runs is pickup rate. Okay? So I have a business called Dialog IO and we actually have our own dialer which is designed to get 15, 20, even 25, 30 pickup rates of single dials without breaking compliance rules. I have a guide that I can link down below how to increase your pickup rates. So I can give you some actual strategies that you can do. And if you're a team and you have three or more people and you're looking to actually increase your pickup rate, then you can go through that. We can potentially have a call with you and see if we're a good solution for you. But what I want to do is just go, okay, cool. Average pickup rate industry right now is around 3 to 5%.
Okay?
I'm going to use a conservative 18% because that can be done on dialer. You can get way more than that. However, let's not just flog my own stuff. So let's just say you get a decent one at 18% in the strategies that I teach you in that dialing. In the pickup rate guide, you can probably get up to there for a period of time, okay? So leads per month, okay? We're going to assume that you do pull every lead four times on average, okay? To 1200. Pickup rates is 60 versus 216, okay? So all of a sudden you can see, holy crap, that's a lot more people, right? So your lead to contact is like in the 80s, which is for sure doable. I see that on a regular basis. But here you are wasting so many leads, right? Not only if you're a business owner do you see it as just money down the drain, okay? But it's no fun for anybody, okay? So let's just say, so you're outbound calling, okay? And then you have a conversation to booking rate, right? Of 50%. Then you're going 60 to 30 to 16 to 20, 108. Your show rate is 60%. Your Kohl's held is here. Your close rates here. You're here. Your average cash value, I'm just, you know, whatever, consistent 15 versus 56 grand a month, okay? Simply because you spoke to about three times more people on the front end, okay? And those are the same leads, right? They're no different, okay? And maybe because you booked way more people, maybe this goes down slightly to 50, right? Whatever. It's still a heck of a lot more. Even if that goes down to 20, boom, still a heck of a lot more. So you can be a worse closer. If you speak to a lot more people because you have higher pickup rates, you are going to end up. Okay, making more sales, okay? All right? So it's a 360% uptick because you had around a, you know, 360% uptick in pickup rate, probably.
Okay.
All righty. Now let's go down to show rate.
Okay.
So show rate, it's obviously a big one, but there are a lot of things that we can do. I have gone on to offers and had 90% plus show rates where everyone else has 40% show rates. There are things that you can do in order to get better show rates.
Okay.
One of the things that you can do, right, is straight away is text and call the person the moment you get a notification that they booked in. If you're in more B2B environment. Hey, I look at your website. Looks great. I do have some questions I want to ask you, but overall looks pretty good. Is there anything that I can do between now and our call to make things more productive for you? Okay, fantastic. That shows that you're respectful, you know what you're doing, you're professional.
Okay.
And these are things that you can do.
Okay?
You don't want to rely on just automated stuff. You want to take the bull by the horns, take control of the situation and work your way through the show rate. Are there too many things? Are there not enough things?
Okay.
Like booking yourself. Have a look, go through, make, make sure there are no stupid things. I can link a video down below where I go through a bunch of in depth things that you can do in order to increase your show rate. But I even have a conservative 65% here.
Okay?
There are a lot of businesses that I work with that are in the 70s, okay. And some are even in the 80s, okay? We're going to go 50 and 65 because that's not terrible and that's not amazing.
Okay?
300 leads, call them four times, pick up rate. I set it a flat 10%. Keep it nice and even. Booking rate, the same. Here's the same show rate. Here's where it gets different.
Okay?
50 versus 65. You're getting nine more opportunities. With the same close rate, you're closing two more deals. All right? You're having a high 130% uptick. You're going from 26K a month here to 34K a month there.
Okay? Easy.
So if you focus on show rate and focus on pickup rate, these are things that you can, from a process standpoint that you can fix.
Okay.
That you can actually action and do something about without having to worry about any sort of mystic art.
Okay?
Now let's go through booking rate.
Okay.
A lot of the Time people have like really outrageous booking rates where they're like pre qualifying people to crazy degrees, right? And so we're going to go through and show what that looks like. When I was running seventh level, we had a mandated minimum book through rate or a pass through rate from outbound Kohl's, okay. Because that meant that we could keep things nice and consistent and we could use the marketing to filter instead of the sales team because that's a recipe for disaster, if you know what I mean.
Okay?
You never want the sales team deciding who they speak to. You want the marketing deciding who the sales team speak to.
Okay?
So booking rate of 40% or a pass through rate of 70%. You know, I'm even going to do here, I'm even going to lower this show rate because all the sales reps go. But they're going to be worsely. But they're going to be worsely.
Okay?
So all you do is go from here to here, right? 40 to 70. You end up with more sales, more money, good to go, an extra five and a half grand a month.
Okay?
So that's pretty good. That's assuming you have a worse show rate, right? And a worse close rate because you, because you decided to speak to more people, Mr. Precious Sales Rep.
Okay?
You still make more, okay? Now you've got all of these extra opportunities, right, to do follow ups and to do no shows, no sales, all that kind of good stuff. So you can actually create a pipeline for yourself, right? You had 13 more opportunities. So even with a lower close rate, you're still doing better.
Okay?
And that's just you not being so goddamn precious with your time, right? Because if you're making these numbers, you don't need to be precious. But if everything else stays the same and you just let more people through, right, then you're going to be good to go. Now let's have a look at close rate.
Okay?
We're going to double your close rate and keep everything else the same. So obviously you double your income, okay? But the time that it would take to double your close rate is pretty astronomical unless you're brand new.
Okay?
So if you're on an established offer, you've been a while, you selling SaaS, you're selling coaching, you're selling fitness, you're selling door to door, whatever it may be, right? To double your close rate would be. If you're establish is a pretty monumental task. It can be done, okay? But there are going to be a lot of lagging and leading indicators that are going to play a role in that. So you know, you go from here to here, right? You double your sales. It's pretty simple, but it's a pretty monumental task. Now here is if you just had an ideal process, but you didn't change your close rate at all. So if you went from, from a 7% pickup rate, which is on the high side, to a 20% pickup rate, which is like smack dab in the middle, you know, we're going to do, actually we're going to do 18 because people are going to be like, meh, right? 18. 7 to 18, okay? Because 18 is like low normal for us and 7 is high normal for most people.
Okay?
And if you want better pickup rates, go down and click on $IO Go There. Or if you want us to do your SDR work for you because you're sick of it, then you can go to str callcenter.com okay? There'll be links in the description down below and there's that pickup rate guide resource down there as well. So if you want that, you just grab that and you can go through and you know, increase your pickup rates. It gives you a bunch of different strategies that you can do. So booking conversation goes from 50 to 60. So nothing crazy.
Okay?
Show rate goes from 50 to 65.
Okay.
Again, all within the realms of reasonable guys. Look at this. You've gone from 21 sales calls held to 84 because you got a better pickup rate. And again, we're moving this to 18.
Okay?
You had a moderately increased booking rate and you had a decent show rate. Not a good, but decent. And then your close rate is the exact, exact same and you literally make 4x the sales.
Okay?
So you can clearly see that the math is mathing on this one big time. And you're spending tens of thousands of dollars and lots of time fixing things when you haven't got you. You haven't made your bed, okay? And I'm going to show you, okay? The average sales Training program is six months. Average cost 6,500.
Okay?
Five hours per week dedicated to it. 20 hours per month, 120 hours for the total length of the program.
Okay?
At an average work week of 40 hours, let's say you make seven, $500 a month. That' $6 an hour. You're investing $5,600 of your time into the program. Plus the 6,500. You have a 12. Just over $12,000 investment in order to get yourself here.
Okay.
After. Sorry, here after a number of years, most likely. But hey, let's say you pull that off in six months. Fantastic. But if the six months before that you spent going over I'm going to increase my booking rate, my show rate, my pickup rates. Put those together, okay you're going to come in with a 400% here. If you then go from 25 right to 40 it's a total game changer because now you're optimized, right? You're optimized here.
Okay?
So stop spending money on all of this sales training when you don't even know what your pickup rate is. You don't even know how to increase your show rate, you don't even know how to increase your booking rate. And there are other metrics, right, all that kind of stuff but these are the ones that you can tangibly action. Now there's resources, a ton of things that you can do but you just have to try.
Okay?
So that is the way that you get more sales in 2025.
