Matt Ryder (YouTube) argues that income growth comes from systematically focusing on and fixing one problem at a time—especially in sales—so you can measure effects, improve incrementally, and compound efficiency, hard work, intelligence, and opportunity into a large income increase.

The difficult thing about hard things is that it's seeing 10 things that are wrong, but only fixing one and leaving the other nine. Because when you leave the other nine, you leave all the other variables the same, which then allows you to see what's working and what's not. For me, like, in my sales, I just worked on one thing, and I would get better at that one thing, then I would go to the next, and I would go to the next, and I go to the. I just systematically did that. And when I started making really good money in sales, it was because it was incremental increase over the course of time. And then by the time I sort of like, everything came together, I was just very efficient. When you have efficiency, hard work, intelligence, and a good opportunity, that's what creates, like that hockey stick, like, ramp up of income.
