Matthew Ryder explains how to balance health, wealth, and family by temporarily increasing work effort. He shares a personal example of pushing harder to afford a new home while managing daily priorities in sales.
I like to work in kind of a triangle. You've got three points of contact. One is health, one is wealth, and one is family. You never forget about all three, but you might focus on one more than another. Right now we're sort of closing on our home and our new home is quite expensive. So I spoke to my wife and I was like, hey, I'm going to work a little bit more than normal for the next three or four months so I can build up some extra cash so that the house is a little bit easier to buy. So it's like I put my sights on wealth. Don't forget about family. I don't forget about health, but my priority is wealth. So if it comes to doing a sales call over doing a gym session to pick the sales goal. And again, you don't forget about any of them anytime. But it's just where's your focus in terms of your daily activities.
