Vlog 8 - Back in Perth!

Matt Ryder tours a new office facility in Perth and discusses moving logistics, business updates, and daily life with Ben and others. A casual behind-the-scenes look at his work and personal routine.
Hey guys, what's up? So I'm gonna do a quick tour of the new facility. Got my lovely cameraman Brian. He's actually the builder, but because we up with council, he's just sitting here like a piece of she. What he does best. So what we got here, this is a pool table because I can't be trusted with money. Here's our sign. It's red neon. So what we're looking at now is the gear cage. So in that gear cage we have lots of expensive stuff. We're gonna have loads of cameras. This is going to be my office. Walk out my door and then into James's door and then you can roll through there and then we go into a big communal desk that's going to be made now. We're going to go in through Ben's office. Ben's the new coo. Outside of his office, on the outside wall there's going to be like an inbuilt, custom desks, a big ass tv. We go into the like podcasting studio. It's an awesome studio. It's also going to be like our boardroom. This is where the quiet rooms are going to be. So they're going to be zoom rooms. Like people want to do sales calls. It's a really cool space. Actually a funny story. It's actually built by Max Brenner. Max Brenner is like a competitor to like lint, right? And he built it all for his entire company. He actually wanted it to be like his Willy Wonka factory because they're a chocolate company and there's a great cafe on site. But it actually cost so much that it bankrupted the company. This is the craziest, windiest day of golf I've ever played in my entire life. Everything's playing like three clubs longer, three clubs shorter. I had a seven iron 220. It was ridiculous. The hardest game of golf I've ever played. Bye, countryma. Oh, you little thing. So I'm semi fuming the real estate agency and all the people involved in the, in the new office are just boobs. Like the level of incompetence is hard to explain. They sent me the wrong place to get the bank guarantee. So I put $28,000 in the person's account. They didn't want me to put it in, but those are the only account details that they gave me. Now they won't issue me with a letter because I don't have the bank guarantee. But I'm like, yeah, but I put them in the details that you Gave me like, yeah, that's our bad. We can't issue a letter that you can actually build. It's like it's holding everything up and I'm paying thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars a week to have like builders there to do nothing. So like it's all getting very interesting. I fucking lost my bananas a little while ago. Good news, everything else is fine. Happy as Larry had the dog at the office today. Got some new coaching clients, hired a personal assistant to sort through my emails and make sure that I get life things done because I'm trying to refinance a house and I keep forgetting to do things for the mortgage broker. So just crazy busy. Just like literally I think I'm back to back. Literally back to back at least five hours in a row per day. A lot of the time it's like back to back for five, four or five hours. Then like a half an hour, break them back to back for four hours. Fun times. So we're at the airport in the business lounge on the way to Perth. We're heading back just a couple days so we can get the stuff sorted so we can get the house rented.
Out because right now it's just got.
All of our stuff in it. It's getting packed up in the next couple days. The borders opened so we hopped on the first flight out. Funny story, I bought flights and then they said, oh, your flights will be confirmed in 48 hours. So then I had to go and go, well that's not good enough.
So then I went and bought different.
Flights and I end up with all the flights. So interesting. If you're wondering, now is a great time to buy traffic travel stuff because ain't no one going nowhere.
I'm gonna pick a suitcase because we came over to Perth with just one with all that stuff in it because obviously we had a ton of stuff at our house. So now we're gonna bring some more stuff back to Sydney. So we need to buy suitcase.
Look at this, they got backpacks. This is really exciting content. Make sure you comment down below if you want to see me buy more. Useless. Well, not actually very useful but very boring stuff. So we are back in our Perth house for a little bit. Actually had some stuff done so so you can see we had a bunch of fake grass put in. Actually looks really, really good. Super happy with it. We had that put in because we're having renters in so all this stuff got cleaned up. It's just such a. It's a great house, big backyard. So yeah, we're looking at rent it out. So they said it should go really, really fast. But yeah, it's good to be back. We're just cleaning everything up. We got a big, big rubbish bin at the front so that we can, you know, get rid of all the stuff we need to get rid of. And, yeah, it's been good. Nice being home.
Very nice.
You're hungry.
So it's pack up day today. Pretty much. We have movers coming in and doing all the main packing. But today we have. We're gonna go through everything and see what we're gonna keep, see what we're gonna ditch, see what we're gonna donate. I'm giving, like, basically half the furniture that I have to family. I don't know if you guys know if you've ever moved a lot, but.
If you move across a country, it's.
Cheaper just to buy new stuff. So we're gonna take some stuff. But, like, you pay per cubic meter and furniture is just not that expensive.
It's gonna be one of those days. We just kind of work all day.
There's one of the donation piles. We're actually leaving the projector and stuff in the house. And then I've given these to our neighbor, my nephew. Shout out your YouTube channel. It's mix 777. Go subscribe. I'm great at gaming.
Is this the way you choose to spend your time so you can procrastinate and not help me cook dinner?
I don't like the attitude. I crush your head. I was going through and I found a bunch of, like, old comic books. I found all the original Simpsons comics and a whole bunch of other ones. And apparently they're worth, like, a lot of money.
Well, a lot of money.
Anywhere between a few hundred to a few thousand for these comic books, which is cool. And I was going through my stuff and I found this. There you go. Fun times. Yeah, it's been pretty crazy day. I'm very, very tired. But it looks like we've got pretty much everything done for the move. And now we can get everything sent over to our new house once we buy it in. Syd.
I think it's Friday morning.
Got a dinner with James.
Can the guys from hypo bt, Andrew B. And Andrew G. And also James R. Jameson for James tonight, which should be really, really fun.
It's quite early because I got a.
Meeting for seventh level. It's been a really good week. We hired a whole bunch of appointment setters, and it's the first time we've, like, hired people, like, the right way, where they've had, like, full interviews and then they've had letters of offer and all that kind of stuff. So it's been interesting. Ben's been handling all that, so he's been a godsend. He's been super good. The office having massive delays with council.
So we have it. It's ours.
I've obviously shot a couple of videos in there. I've made a makeshift little studio in there with a cool background around the bar area. But it'll probably be another month, really sickly, before we're in there properly because, like, the bureaucracy is insane. Oh, well, it is what it is. So it's been. It's been a good week. We've made a lot of sales and it seems like all the accounts are kind of, like, normalizing. So we don't have, like, one massive account and a bunch of small accounts. Like, all the accounts are kind of coming up to where they're all, like, doing relatively good, which is really important for us because I don't want to be too leveraged with any single account, so, yeah.
