This is a YouTube video titled "What to Do with a Partner and a Money Objection👆 | Matthew Ryder" containing a monologue by Matt Ryder recorded in September 2023. In this content, Matt Ryder explains how to handle objections related to partners and money in sales or negotiation contexts, focusing on strategies to uncover the real concerns behind such objections.
Now, a partner and a money objection are very, very similar because essentially the person doesn't want to spend the money without the partner. Okay? So it is essentially a money objection. So we come at it from a very similar angle and we go, okay, if your partner was here and they were on board, would this be the answer for you? Do you mind telling me why? Again, solidifying the idea, getting the buy in. The next thing that I like to do in particular is like to say, well, is there anything that you think your partner will be most apprehensive about? Sometimes people give a partner objection because it's easier. It's just a way to appeal to a third party that isn't so that they don't have to make a decision or they're just a decision that they're just scared to make. Just by talking through it and by giving them the ability to use their partner as like a thoroughfare or like a go through, makes it easier for them. So then you might actually get the real objection. Might be something like, I've tried things in the past, I don't know if it's going to work. So really then we're looking at a self belief issue rather than a partner issue. We can go down that realm.
