This is a YouTube video titled "What To Know When Going For A Startup | YouTube Short" containing a monologue or single-speaker discussion recorded in December 2022. The speaker explains the risk and reward dynamics of working in startups versus more established companies, focusing on sales representatives' negotiation positions and risk appetite when choosing between different company types.
To go in for a startup you need to know that there's a high risk activity involved in that. With you as a sales rep however you will be rewarded much higher usually. So you've got sort of three main types of companies. One is like a high risk startup who is like sort of that medium level business. It's been like say two to five years. They have a consistent track record. You're going to have a decent negotiating spot with that company if you are a high performing sales rep and then you've got your top tier which is like your larger companies super established, extraordinarily good fulfillment top, tons of marketing but you're not really going to have an enormous leg to stand on when it comes to negotiating your position. So really you need to figure out what your risk appetite is and then from there go for one of those three knowing what the good and the bad are and making a decision to kind of moving forward.
