The speaker explains each step of the recipe, including ingredient preparation, cooking times, and the health benefits of the spices used.
You. Today we're going to make quick, easy, and tasty curry garbanzo beans. Now, we're going to add a tablespoon of oil to our pot, and it's heated at about a medium heat. Let it just get hot for a few seconds, and then we're going to add our onions, garlic, ginger, and jalapenos all at once. Now, as you add this, especially the garlic, ginger, and jalapenos, you're going to start to smell a really nice scent in the room. Just mix it together. And now what you're going to do is wait for about 10 to 15 minutes, and the onions are going to turn a light brown and become translucent, so you'll be able to see through them. And when they do that, then you'll know that it's ready for the next step. Now, the onions are light brown and translucent. So I'm going to add the tomatoes, chopped up tomatoes, and then just a fourth cup or a fourth can of the tomato paste. And this entire mixture really provides the thickness to the dish. So we're gonna mix it around, get all the tomato paste blended in. Now, the tomatoes and the tomato paste have had a chance to really blend with the onions, so we can go ahead and add the spices. So we're going to add 3, 4 teaspoon salt, the turmeric powder. And just to let you know, these spices all have amazing benefits, especially for weight loss and for feeling great. The turmeric powder actually has antioxidants, and it also helps to burn fat. Chili powder actually helps increase your metabolism and also acts as an appetite suppressant. This is the chana masala, and then the garam masala. This is where all the flavor is. So you really want to make sure the flavor is in here. Probably just blend it around just so you see everything really, you know, mix in very well. And now you can add your garbanzo beans. Mix that all around so the flavors are all kind of mixing together. And the spices, plus the garbanzo beans, are really an excellent dish. It's going to taste good, and it's going to feel good. Now, the beans have had a chance to roast together with the spices for about five minutes. And now we're going to add the water. Now, this water is going to combine with the tomato paste and the tomatoes and the onions to form a thicker sauce. That'll happen over the cooking time. So pretty much now what you want to do is just turn the heat to a little less than medium, cover it, and leave a little space just so it can breathe. And then it's going to take 30 minutes to cook, so you'll want to come back. And when the sauce is thicker and the beans are softer, that's when it's going to be cooked. So it's been 30 minutes. Let's see if it's ready. Now, the sauce is definitely thickened. It hasn't lost all of the liquid. It still has some there, but it is thicker. And the garbanzo beans are a yellow color, and they're definitely softer. So it's ready to try. Let's garnish it with the onions and cilantro. It will give it a really nice, fresh flavor. Now let's try this out, see how it is. Mmm. All the flavors have absorbed into the garbanzo beans, and the onions really add a nice crunchiness at the end. This is a dish that's really filling and also very healthy for you. What I usually like to do is make a little bit extra and have it in the fridge, so. So whenever I'm hungry, I can just warm it up, and it's a lot easier to stay healthy and on track when there's something I want to eat that's already ready. I hope you enjoy.
