Hi, this is Nagina, and I am here today with Bemisha. I want to just turn it over to her. Bamesha, tell me, how much weight did you lose in spice yourself, Skinny, and what are your other changes in your body?
Hi, Nagina. I am Bimisha for Everybody. I lost 18 pounds, and I am still counting. So the best thing about me that has changed is my body feels good. I feel good. I feel excited. It's. It's so much of a change. I can feel it when I wear my clothes, when I walk around, and everybody says, oh, my God, you've lost weight. That is the best thing. People are noticing, which is, like, amazing. And everybody's asking me, what did you do? What did you do? And I've told them. I'm like, you have to go sign up for Sys. That was my. Like, that was my thing. I'm like, okay, everybody has to sign up for this because it has worked for me. And I've done things before. I've done other diets. I've. I've tried, and I've. I can't do the food. I'm like, I'm a foodie. I need my spices. I need my food. And Sys has been great because you can use your spice. You can still eat food. You have your. I don't call it a cheat day. I call it a reward day. For me, I'm like. Because that's six days that I've worked for it. The seventh day is my reward day for eating whatever. But I still don't eat too much, even on that day, because I'm, like, conscious. I eat, and I'm like, okay, no, no, no, no. I can't do this. So it's been great. And I wanted to thank Nugina. I've been meaning to thank you, and I really, really appreciate what you've done for us. Thank you so much.
Oh, well, I'm so. It makes me so happy to see your results. And to hear that you lost 18 pounds, that's like, life changing. I mean, it changes so much so really quickly. Tell me. I want to know how long it took you to lose that 18 pounds and also tell me your favorite spice.
The eight weeks that I did, I lost 16, and then I've been continuing to kind of stick to the plan. I don't do everything like that first week, second week, third week, but I do my favorite recipes, and I've lost two more and still counting. My goal is to lose another 10 so I can reach my goal. And I am Getting there. And my favorite spice is smoked paprika. Oh, my God, I'm in love with that spice that goes in everything I eat right now. I love it. It makes my fish taste good. It makes my chicken taste good. It makes my tofu taste good. It's like, it's amazing. I love that spice. That's my favorite spice right now.
Oh, I love that. Oh, my gosh. Great, Great to hear that. But oh, my God, I'm just like. So, I mean, I really understand, like how. I do understand how you feel because I went through this too. So when I lost my first 18. And like, it can be your first 18 because you can lose 10 more. Like you're gon be able to do that and because once you. The thing is, you're starting to keep these recipes around, it's not hard. And you're just eating your favorite recipes that you learn to make and you learn how to eat. So the learning is the hard part. Once you learn, you just keep doing it if you enjoy it and you can keep it up.
So.
Oh, my God, I'm so excited. Was it like an exciting ride to lose weight or was it like a dreadful, deprivational ride to lose weight?
No, it was an exciting is starting from the first week. First week was a little hard because carbs, I love my carbs. That's my weakness. My rice, my bread, my pasta. Those are my weakness. So the first two days I was like, oh, my God, what am I doing? Am I going to be able to do this? But the third day was better. The fourth day was better. Fifth and the sixth day came in and that was my reward day. And I was like, do I really need to eat this? Like, I don't think I need all this. I was happy with what I was eating.
And.
And that first week, that. Oh my God, that chicken, that smoked paprika chicken. Oh, that was it. I ate that like four days out of the week and I was still happy with it. I still eat that. That's my favorite. That's what. That's my all time favorite. And the pbj, the smoothie. Oh, me, my husband, my kids, Everybody, like, everybody is in love with that. And I've been telling everybody it's such easy to. If you prep, then everything's easy. If you don't prep, you can't do it. And the prep and everything is easy too. It's not something that's like. A few of my friends started asking me, is it hard? Like, it is. What, what all do you make cooking Is it a lot of cooking? And I said, no, you prep. It's such easy cooking. You don't even have to spend that much time on it and it comes out really good. It's not like you spend half an hour and the food is like, oh, what the hell? But it's amazing. Food quick. And then you just have to make sure you do your due diligence on Sunday or whichever day you want to keep it. But you have to prep. That's what I was telling everybody. Prep, prep, prep. And then it'll be easy for you. That is so true.
That's so true. It's like, we just have to take a little bit of time to think ahead, because otherwise, when you come home or after a long day, really the last thing we want to do is cook. You know, I mean, that's when we order pizza or we just pull something easy and unhealthy together or eat cereal. I mean, I've done that before. You know, it's like, what can you just put in a bowl and eat fast? So the whole prep thing is so key, but a lot of times it seems hard because you have to think about what to prep. Even that. It's like a kind of. It's really almost a full time job to like, think about what to prep and then to do it. So how did, like, what made it possible for you to prep? Because I think a lot of women want to think ahead. But in reality, in real life, when you have work and kids and a life, it's kind of hard to say, to like, sit down and make a list of things.
So what I started doing was the first week, I just. I was dreadful too, because I'm like, I don't know, I've never done this. Like, it's gonna be too much work. I don't know how I'm gonna handle the kids and everybody. So what I started doing was Sundays was kind of like a two hours thing for the whole family. I just keep my kids around, they're playing around, but I'm prepping. And then they see what I'm doing and they come and ask me, what are you doing? What is that? What is that? So I started telling them what it was, and it was kind of like a game for me. It was like, okay, what are we making today? What is the new thing that mommy's making today? So I started prepping like that, and they would come, I would cut cucumbers and stuff like that for the water, and they would eat it with me. So it was Kind of like a whole family together. We started doing this. And for me, I picked my favorite recipes. I think that made it easier. Like I picked a few recipes that. That's my all time favorite. And I prep for it. I already know what I want. So Friday, I make sure I make my list. I do my groceries. Sunday's like two hours. I'm like, I. Don't disturb me. Don't tell me to do anything else because this is my prep time. And I think it's tough because my husband's liking it too. He likes the food. So he's like, okay, let's do it. So I picked my favorite. So pick your favorite, stick to it. It doesn't matter. You don't have to try everything, but pick your favorite. Try it once, and then pick your favorite and eat that. And it's helpful.
I love that. I love that. It's like you just do it. You make it fun. You have your kids, you make it a game. Oh, my God, how cool. What a cool idea. Like you involving your kid. What is this? And even for yourself, it's when we can make things fun, like we can keep doing it. So I love that. Oh, my gosh, Femeisha, what a great idea to make a game out of it. So now that's interesting that your husband likes it and your kids. So were you eating the food from Spice Yourself Skinny? Were you eating it with your husband and your family? Were they actually liking it?
Yeah, my husband especially. Like, my kids still are little. They've tried it, but they're not at that phase by my husband. So starting Monday, that is today's Friday. So starting Monday, we're gonna do the whole eight weeks again. So it's gonna be me and my husband doing it together this time. So we're starting with week one again. And he's excited about it because he's seen that change and he's like, you know what? I'm gonna do it. So we'll see what happens.
Has he tried the smoked paprika chicken?
He loves it. He's tried that. His favorite is the PBJ smoothie. As I told you, I drink that. He drinks that. We make the egg muffins. We make those. He likes those fish. He likes the salmon that I make with the herbs, like the herb crusted salmon. He loves all of that food. So he's like, okay, let's do it this time.
I love hearing that. I love hearing that. And it's really special that you're saying that because a lot of times we think that when we're gonna, like, we as women, when we need healthy or we need to lose some weight, and we know we. That to get healthier, we feel like we have to do it alone or it kind of can stop you from wanting to actually do it because we want to share with our husbands or our partners and our families, and the fact that, like, he can like what you're eating and it's not you eating something separate and him, it just makes it so much easier. So, like, there's been like, your husband. I think he's going to do amazing. I want. You have to keep me. Like, let's. We're going to stay in touch for sure. Because a lot. And also a lot of husbands, like, they have lost from like 12 to 20 pounds in the eight weeks.
And sometimes they.
Men lose so much weight faster.
So sometimes not fair. I know, but it's good.
It's good because, you know, you're getting healthier together and it's your combined lifestyle. You can sit and eat together, and that makes such a difference. So I'm so happy to hear that. Oh, my God.
I think it does. I think it does, because that way you're eating the same thing. And for me, my goal was to stay healthy because my kids are growing up and they're gonna have tons of activities. They want to run around, they want to do things. And I don't want to say, oh, I can't. Like, I want to be that mom who can go run around with them, go everywhere they want to do everything they want, and I still have that strength to do it. I'm not. I don't want to feel like, oh, my God, I can't even run. So that was my motivation. I was like, you know what? My kids are growing up. I need to be fit and fine for them because I want to be with them every step. So that was. That was my thing.
I love that. I so resonate with that, too. So do you feel like, how do you feel like you're achieving that right now? Like, do you feel. How do you feel now versus before?
I think I have more energy. I thought, like, if I don't eat carbs and stuff like that, I'm not going to have that energy. I'm going to feel like I'm feeling dizzy or I'm feeling like. No, none of that. I feel so much better. I feel like I have so much energy. I feel energized. I am excited. I'm excited to eat the food. I'm excited about the day. So that makes a lot of difference. I'm excited about wearing my clothes. Oh, my God. I wear them, and I'm like, I feel good. It's not like I'm bloated here or something like that. So it's been great. I'm loving it. I am loving it.
Are there some. So tell me about, like, some clothes you can wear now that you. That before the program, maybe you were, like, either not able to wear or, like, really buttoning, like, having to, like, lie down and button it or something like that.
I have a pair of capris that were, like, tight on me. Like, tight. I would, like, literally push myself in it because I loved it. And now they're loose. I can't wear them. Yes. So I'm still keeping that because that's kind of like, my motivation. I'm like, okay, this one needs to come down. Like, I need to be. I need to lose a little bit more. So that's still hanging on my closet. I keep it there because I was like, I could not fit in these. Now they're loose. So it's been great. I love it. I wear dresses, and I feel good. I wear more dresses now. I've noticed, like, since that eight weeks, I've started wearing more dresses, more skirts, because I feel comfortable, and it feels great. It's like, I am just. I'm just like. Everybody can see that.
Awesome. Oh, my God. That makes me so happy. It's so good to have have your. Your, like, motivational capris because you. You. You know. You know that you were able to fit into those and more. It's like, you have to actually get a smaller size now. Motivates you for the next thing, you know, so. Yes. Oh, my gosh. Okay, well, tell me. So tell me. Oh, tell me a little bit about, like, what. Why you decided to join sys. Like, what made you join it? What happened when you decided to join it?
Yeah, I had done, like, a few diets before, and for me, they didn't work because, I don't know, it just didn't click to me. For me to do something, it has to click. I have to have that certain phase where I'm like, okay, I think this is gonna work kind of thing. So when I saw your seven days, seven spices, that's when I was like, you know what? I'm gonna try this. Just because I'm from Nepal, and we do all the spices that we do. Like, we do the paprika, we do turmeric, we do all of that. So I Was like, you gonna try this? Because I have all of this at my home. Like, it's not, like, something I have to go buy or something that I have to work hard on. And I started that, and I started seeing a difference. And I was like, you know what? I'm gonna email her, and I'm gonna ask her if there's something more. And that's when I emailed you. And then you told me about the sys, and I was like, you know what? I'm gonna try this. And the first day that I prepped, I was like, you know it's gonna work. I know it's gonna work. I. I gave in my hundred percent. I was like, you know what? I have to do this, and I have to be healthy. I have to do this. I have to make changes. If I don't right now, I'm never gonna do it. So I started it, and then the first week, and I was like, you know what? This is gonna work. And I did eight weeks. And my husband was surprised because he told me, I don't think you're gonna do it more than a week. And when I started doing week two, week, three, week for him, he started seeing the change. He goes, oh, my God. You are really motivated this time. And I said, I love the food. Especially I like what I'm eating. I don't feel deprived or I don't feel like I'm not getting to eat. So that was the best part of doing this. I'm eating good food. I'm still losing weight, and I'm looking good. What else do I ask for? Like, I don't want to ask for anything else. So it's been amazing for me.
Oh, good. Oh, my God. Makes me so happy. Because, I mean, I think, like, you know, you said you're a foodie. I feel like I'm a foodie where I have to eat food that tastes good. If I don't, I feel like I'm dying inside. It doesn't feel worth it. I'm like, I will just stay with this extra weight. If I have to eat, like, grilled fish and broccoli with nothing on it for the rest of my life. I can't do that.
I can't either. I need my food. I'm like, I need my spices. At least it has to be good. I need to feel satisfied when I eat it. I can eat this much, but I have to feel satisfied. And sys, I feel satisfied. And I've noticed that my portion control, it's automatic now. I can't eat more than a certain amount. I feel bad after I eat that, and I could eat, like, eat. And now I've noticed that I eat a certain amount and I'm full. Like, good food. Not like I'm depriving myself, but I'm full and I feel good. So that has, like, my portion has gone down by itself. I didn't force it, but it's just gone down and. And it's been good and I still have the energy.
Yeah, that's so. So do you feel like you've changed your habits through the program, like you've.
Changed your eating habit? Yeah, even when I go out, I'm more conscious. I eat. If I eat something today, like, we go out from work and I can't say no every day, so I go out, I eat it. But I make sure by dinner time or something, I'm not eating what I ate, and I'm controlling myself and I'm making sure I'm eating clean. So my habit has changed a lot.
Yes. Oh, I love hearing that. Because the thing is, it's like the eight weeks, it's kind of like it's a jumpstart. Like, you lose a lot of weight in the eight weeks, and then you create this habit and this lifestyle where you make it easier for yourself and you just can keep following it. So that's the key. I know you're going to keep going. I mean, you've already lost two more pounds after sys. It's be to going there's. It's like it's going to keep going. So one more question. How, like, what do you think surprised you about sys? What was the thing that, like, happened while you're going through that kind of surprised you?
I think you were eating and you were still losing weight. That was like. Because for me, I thought, you don't eat, then you lose weight. But I was eating and I was still losing weight. That was what surprised me, was while I was eating and good food, I was eating good food and still losing weight. First when I started eating, I was like, I don't know if I'm going to lose weight because I'm eating and I'm full all the time. It's not like I'm hungry or I'm like, I want to eat. I didn't have that, like, it was so good. And I had my snacks ready, everything. And I was eating, eating, eating, eating, and I was still losing weight. So that was surprising that you eat and you still lose weight and good food.
Yes. Oh, good well, thanks so much, Femeisha for sharing your experience. You look amazing. You're before and after out of this world and I'm so excited to see you continue the journey because it's like doable. It'll just do it and well, congratulations and enjoy yourself, enjoy your kids and have like it just feels so good. So I'm so happy to hear your energy and hear your happiness with this weight loss. It can be exciting and fun to do it when you're eating the food you like and you're like, you described that to me. So thank you so much.
Thank you. I really appreciate what you're doing right now because this is going to change a lot of people's life and trust me, it works. So do it. I would recommend everybody to do this because you're eating good food and you're losing weight. So definitely a plus.
Awesome. Thanks. Femisha.
