Hi, my name is Negeena Abdullah, and I'm the founder of Masala Body. I help other women get healthy and feel amazing about themselves for life. Masalabadi is for ambitious women, for working moms, and for professional women that just don't have a lot of time to go to the gym for hours a day, but still want to be healthy because it's really important to them. I've got two young children that are extremely demanding, so my schedule is packed for from morning to night.
Staying healthy is something that is at the forefront of my mind and something that I really strive for, but it's obviously a challenge with the kind of schedule that I have.
I work really long hours, but I love what I do. And by the time I get home, I'm trying to pull something together for dinner. I like to be that domestic housewife.
I'm a management consultant. I travel every week and work very long hours. On top of that, I have two kids and a husband at home. So at the end of a long day, the last thing I want to do is cook a healthy meal. I made a few changes to what I was eating, so I just replaced a couple ingredients with others. What turned out happening is that my weight dropped dramatically. I lost 40 pounds in less than a year, and it stayed off for years. I knew that if I was able to feel so much better about myself and lose so much weight while having such a demanding job and two kids, I knew that other women could do it as well.
It was so easy. That's what I loved about it.
I loved that the dishes, you could prep, you know, three days in advance, store them, and be looking forward to.
Them the next day, and it's flavorful and nutritious. You can't get any better than that, honestly.
It's got to be fast, it's got to be tasty. It's got to be something that my kids would eat. I know so many other women struggle with getting healthier and trying to do so much but not seeing the results. I've been there.
I feel like it's always following the latest trend, whether it's Atkins or South beach or counting calories, doing Weight Watchers, which I loved Weight Watchers. But it's so much thought that goes into everything that you eat. You want to just have something where you can just know what you have to eat for that day and just be done with it.
I think I want to be healthy, but the reality of implementing a healthy menu and healthy food shopping is. Is hard. The best part is After a long day of work, I'm able to come home and help my young son with his homework and help him learn how to read. I have the energy to do that instead of wanting to just sit on.
The couch after I ate it. I feel full and energized, not weighed down by heavy starches and.
