Are You Spending Enough Money On Advertising?

Sabri Suby (guest) argues that business owners should treat advertising as an investment, not an expense, and should scale up ad spend on campaigns that are already profitable rather than chasing new untested products. He recommends doubling down on winning paid-traffic campaigns (Facebook/Google), increasing ad budgets to drive more funnel attention and offers, and reframing monthly ad spend as revenue-generating rather than a P&L cost. The speaker gives examples (e.g., accounts at $10–15k/month could scale to $100k; a client with 18x ROAS) and closes with a YouTube CTA.

Now that Sabri Subhi joins me now in the studio, I really look at business as an incredible vehicle to really like make good and make change in the world. People want to just go and do something else rather than maximizing the most of what they're doing right now. With all of your clients that are winning, like say for anyone that's been running a campaign on paid traffic, whether Facebook and Google, profitably for, for six months time, every single one of those, there will be an option to scale that. Like, it's amazing how many people will get their account, their ad account to like 10k or 15k. And to get it to that point is very uncomfortable for them. And then when I just ask them, why aren't you spending a hundred grand a month? They just shrugged. I don't know. Like, you have literally got a golden goose. It's spitting out golden eggs to you right now and you're making way more money than what you're getting. Why would you not just go and keep on investing into that thing? But they don't, like, they don't know. And it's a conversation that you need to bring to them. You need to say, well, we're putting $1 in, we're getting $5 back. So let's just put more money into that machine and let's just keep on feeding money into it when we find that it is no longer spitting money out at us. Because like, that's the biggest opportunity to grow people's business is just to do more of what is already working. It's not to go and redo some entire new thing. But that's what most people do. They'll be like, this is really working. How about I just go and launch this brand new thing that may or may not work rather than doubling down on the thing that is working. They might be looking at launching a brand new range of calendars this year or certain journals and new gold digger journals and all this stuff. And it's like, man, why don't you just sell a million of these that you've already got instead of doing the busy work and going creating this brand new business idea, just put more into that machine and get this into more people's hands. That would be like me saying, how about I just go write another book right now? Like, why don't I just sell more of the book that I've already written? And that's obviously what I'm choosing to do, right? But a lot of people would be like, oh, the book did so well. Why don't you just write another one of those things. Like, just spend a whole nother year of your life and write another book on the fact that it may or may not sell well. I've already got a book that's selling very well. I'm just going to sell more of that same thing. So. And it's, it sounds so elementary, but a lot of the time it is. Like, I would suggest that you ask all of your clients who are spending money and making money, why are we not spending more money? Because it doesn't cost you money to spend more money. It costs you money not to spend more money because you're getting the money back. So, but it's, it's ingrained in people to look at advertising as an expense and for them to sit down and look at their P and L in every month and go, oh, like King Kong. Like, look, we spend 15 grand with King Kong a month. That's a big cost. They don't ever look at all that's creating 150 grand. So if you try to take that cost, you lose $150,000. Therefore, by not spending 30 grand, you are losing $150,000 a month right now, as we speak. Right now you're losing 150k because you could be getting that money if you were spending it, but you're not. So it's just a bit of a paradigm shift in people's thinking and is to get them to look at advertising as the best investment that they can make in their business, not a cost. That's the mindset that I look at it because there is nothing that I can do in the investment world that will give me the returns of investing into more advertising to grow my business. Like, there's the client that we have that has an 18x roas. Like, if you did that in the financial investing world, you would be like the George Soros, the Warren Buffett. Like, you'd be on the COVID of Fortune magazine as a genius. Right? Like, but that's what we're doing with advertising. So it's just, you need to kind of have that basic conversation. And a lot of the times people think it's like these really advanced strategies and conversations and delayed pixel firings and contingency funnel campaigns. And it's not that thing. It's the simple things. Just spend more money, get more people to more attention on that into the funnel, into the phone calls, get more people on the phone calls and make more offers to those people and you will make more money.
