Nate Tilley started in advertising by offering free trials to local businesses, running Facebook ads on $100 budgets, and personally following up on every lead. He documented the results as case studies, then used those wins to land more clients and convert trial partners into paying customers.

So the way I got my start in advertising was actually just by getting results for people. I offered free trials to local businesses, and then once they allowed me the opportunity, I would ask them for some budget. Hey, let me spend $100 on Facebook ads. I'd run the ads myself, generate the leads, call the leads, text the leads, email the leads, get them in the door, book them myself, and record all the results. I'd get everything down, how much we spent, how much they made, how much clients we got, and then I use that as a case study, and I'd approach another business in the same niche, and I would get them as a client off that. And I would also keep this business that I started for free, and I would turn them into a paying client. This is easiest and fastest way that I've found to get clients. If you really believe in your process and your product, try it out for free. Give somebody a free trial, show them what you can do, and then use that to make a case study, and then you can get other clients from there.
