How To Get In The Zone For Sales Calls

Sabri Suby talks to a guest about how London sales floors prepare for high-volume calling days. The routine: morning workout and sauna, audiobooks and past calls during transit, high-energy music before arrival, then 15 minutes alone to get dialed in. Feed the body with exercise and oxygen, the mind with vision boards and recorded goals over instrumentals.

But you can't just feed the body and not feed the mind. Yeah, I'll tell you, I'll tell you what I used to do like six days a week even when I was working in London in sales floors is like I would wake up in the morning, I would go get a workout in with my best friend, I'd have a sauna, do that. Then I would listen to an audiobook for an hour, listen to my calls on the way, on the train, on the way in. And then I would listen to like some really hardcore hip hop like just before I got to the office. I didn't have at that sales job. Email wasn't a part of the job. It was just auto dialer. Like there's no follow up, one call closes like 350 phone calls a day kind of thing. So I didn't, I wasn't having appointments to book in. So I would just get myself to like 15 minutes before I rocked up into the office. Like I was just completely dialed in and ready to go. Like there was like, I wasn't even like I didn't want to talk to anybody or do anything and like I just wanted to get onto the telephones because I was, I did everything to get me into that zone, right? And then just looking at like, what is it that I want to achieve in the next year? What, what does that look like if I achieve those things in the next year, if I expand out that in 10 years time, who will, who will the person, who will that person be? Right? But like you understand the physiology side of things, which is great, right? It's like oxygenating the blood, getting you in the zone. It just shakes you up. It gets you out of a funk no matter what. But then that's feeding the body, then you need to feed the mind, right? And so that's where like vision boards, writing down your goals. If you don't like either for some reason you don't like writing down your goals. Just like on a Mac, open up QuickTime and go to edit and it.
Goes record audio note and just record.
Yourself saying your goals and put it on like an instrumental that you really like the sound of. And then you just listen to it. That's what I do, right? And it's like, it's just the Bluetooth syncs when I get into my car and it plays no Matter what where.
I have to listen to that.
But you can't just feed the body and not feed the mind.
