Founder Sabri Subhi joins me now in the studio. I really look at business as an incredible vehicle to really make good and make change in the world. We're really starting at ground zero, and what we really want to do is, you know, you want to look at your Google search history and look at the things that you're researching and that you're searching in your own personal time that you naturally gravitate towards whether or not you're getting paid for this or not. And a great way to do that is to go over to YouTube, have a look at what are the videos you're watching, what are the documentaries you're watching, where are you spending your time? And then going over to Amazon and seeing what are you spending your money on, what are the books that you're reading, what are the books that they're suggesting, and what categories are those books in. And this is a really great way to kind of see, you know, what are the things that you would do regardless of whether or not you're getting paid to do it, and things that you enjoy doing in your personal time that you could really package up, go out into that marketplace and passionately sell to your audience. For me, I really got my start when I was 17 years old and I got my first sales job. And, you know, I really struggled in the beginning and, you know, it was a group environment and they put a whole bunch of people on. And I found very early on that that was a really big struggle for me. And then later on, you know, and I really started to focus in and get really, you know, focus on what my craft was and what. How I was going to excel sell at this job that I was tasked being in sales, I really started to study it and I really started to read books on it and really started to become a master at sales. And then I went around traveling all over the world in different sales environments. And I was the top salesperson at every company that I ever worked for. And it was at that stage I started, look, I've really got a knack for this. I'm really enjoying it. I'm upskilling myself. This is the area that I want to get involved in. I returned back to Australia and I got a job at a marketing company that was actually selling Google AdWords at the time. And I'll never forget, I was on the phone with a prospect and I was selling Google AdWords and the prospect asked me and said, look, I'm not interested in running ads. I just want to get my business listed on the left hand side of the page. And being an ambitious salesperson, I simply told them, yeah, look, we can arrange for that to happen. I got off the phone, I ran over to my manager, I told him what had just taken place and he said, well, that's search engine optimization or SEO and we don't offer that, so you better figure out how to do it. And figure it out I did. I went and really researched SEO and found out how to get a website ranking on Google and was then a service that we started selling at that company that I was working for. And after about two to three months of doing that, I realized that there was certain things that I could do a lot better than the company that I was working for. And it was while I was at college, it was over a summer break where I kind of made the decision, hey, I'm going to actually do out there and I'm going to start my own business and I'm going to start packaging up this service and selling it. I went on and did that, you know, after, you know, within a day or two, I had my first client. By the end of that summer break, you know, I had a sizable business on my hands and I decided to kind of drop out on college and really pursue this business thing. Now that was the way that I personally got started, you know, from my job and transitioned to starting my own consultancy business. Really what you want to do is, is kind of take a read on yourself and really kind of think about what is it that you're passionate about doing, what do you love talking to your friends about? And that's where you want to start as kind of the starting point of going out, researching the market and then having a look at what would the deliverables be for you to actually go out and turn this passion, all this interest that you have, and actually package it up into a viable offer that you can go out and people will pay you for. Once you've gone out and kind of really given some thought to, you know, and made a little list of the things that you find yourself spending, spending your time on and you think, okay, I want to be doing, you know, direct response copywriting or you know, I want to offer accountancy service or a well being coach and you kind of want to start to then research the market and find out what is your minimum viable offer. So what is the minimum offer that you could put together that people would be willing to pay you for? You really want to kind of jump onto Google and that is kind of the big money or bullseye keyword in that market. If somebody was looking for a health coach or a wellness coach, that's the kind of keyword that they're going to be jumping onto Google and a look for. So that's the first place that you want to start. You want to fire up Google, Google health coach in the area that you're operating in and start to kind of get a read on the market and find out what are people in that space doing, how are they packaging up their services, you know, what are the different breaks down in those service delivery that they're really kind of offering and people are willing to spend money for. So you want to bring up their website, click over to their services tab and kind of, you know, start to do a bit of research around these services and what they're offering. You want to have a look at maybe two of the people that are running Google AdWords. These guys are spending money on buying traffic and bringing them to their site. So they're going to have to be selling somebody in order to make that whole exercise profitable. Then you also want to look at, you know, the top three ranked in the organic listings and have a look at, okay, what are the services that they're doing? It is a content writer, they might be doing content marketing, they might be doing, you know, blog posts, they might be putting together proposals for people and outlines of courses or whatever it may be, and start to go. This is a common trend that I see for all these riders. These are the services that they're kind of, you know, offering. Put them in a spreadsheet and really start to kind of begin to gather all of that data. The same with, you know, a wellness coach. You want to go over to their website, see if they're offering, you know, group training or health retreats or all the different services, and start to kind of get an idea of what is the first step that those companies are generally trying to do to engage a new client. And once you kind of have identified one or two competitors that you feel are doing good in that space, that top on AdWords or topped organically, then you can start by, you know, simply giving them a call and start to shop the competition and see, you know, where are they gravitating towards naturally selling. You can even ask them for a proposal and have a look at, you know, what are the services, how they're charging for them, Is it an hourly rate, you know, is it a project fee? And really start to get an idea of where you feel that, you know, there is a kind of a gap in the market and, and how people are going out there and really selling these services and how they're packaging them up. So now that you've gone out there and kind of had a little look at what the competition is doing in that space, you really want to start to get clear of what are the deliverables in that service that you've kind of picked that you can really go out there and sell. So if you're a writer, you might find that things are blog writing, editorial content. You might be looking at content, calendars, you know, posting on social media for those clients. You want to list out what have, you know, five to 10 services in the different service vertical that you could actually go out there and sell. So you might be, you know, in the digital marketing space, you know, one thing would be Facebook ads, then you know, funnels and direct response copywriting, SEO, Google AdWords as a service. And you want to list them all out, whether or not you want to sell them right now or not. You just want to have a full list on what are all the different service deliverables that are in that market that you can sell. It may be you're a wellness coach, and that may be you're going to be launching a diet program, an exercise program, and look at, you know, it might be one on one Skype calls that you're doing group training. And think about what is it that is really going to help that market reach their desired outcome? And then how can you package that up and sell it?
