This is a small one. Aubrey, welcome to the podcast. Oh, I like that I'm a devil and angel defragging your brain.
Oh, this is getting deep. And I'm getting drunk.
It's quiet. There's no one around. There's no one calling, texting, trying to reach out, asking for meetings, anything like that. It's just. It's solitude by yourself. Robert must have watched the YouTube channel the other Shark, and he sent me a message yesterday saying, I saw that you invited Davey to come and drive in your Ferrari and you didn't invite me. And I was like, dude, you've always got the invitation. Taking you for a drive. We're going to do a podcast. It's my second time on this podcast backed by popular demand. The only condition was we're gonna do this again. You can't ask me any questions that you've already asked me. 1. And the second thing is, you can't ask me any questions that I've already been asked on other podcasts. How we doing? Long time. Yeah, good. How about you? Coffee or anything? No, I'm fully caffeinated, bro. I'm ready to roll. All right. It's a bit different to the last time I was here. What's this you're shitting on? That's just. That's a Blackmagic 6K Sabri. Welcome to the podcast. You're still constantly kind of defragging your brain of any of that poverty mindset. And it's not until you come into a place where you have more money than you have time is when you start to look at the relationship that. The way that you kind of treat money. And for me, it was at a point where I was like, I had no more time, right? I was working 17 to 18 hours a day, and I had cash coming into the business, and I just physically had no time to do anything other than work. This was like, you know, in the full on, like, war mode, starting the business, doing anything that I could, not to be broke anymore. Like, you're constantly looking at, like, the value of your time and where is it? Where are you best going to invest it? You can always make more money. You can't make more time. And so I think that it hasn't just been one thing. It hasn't been like, oh, just when I had, you know, 100 grand in the bank account, I was like, okay, cool. Like, and I had to just deal with that demon once. Like, it's constantly dealing with that demon of like, dude, like, the same thinking that got you here is not going to get you here. Right? So something's got to change. And we all have the same 24 hours in a day, right? The billionaires, if you aspire to do that, the millionaires, if you aspire to do that, Everybody has the same 24 hours in a day. But the people that are quote unquote, more successful in whatever the field is, whether it's fitness or business and money is, they've figured out how to get more leverage from that 24 hours than you have. After wrapping up the pod, I had to race back to the office because I had a very special guest waiting for me.
Hi. Hi. Oh my God, your office is so nice.
Even nicer and perfect.
Just get in. Yeah, yeah.
I've got you some tequila shots.
Oh, stop.
Calm down.
Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
And I'm like. And this is for me?
Yes.
But you've been.
Well, yeah.
What's been happening?
Just busy with work. Been doing the, like, the content stuff.
So how many hours a week do you think that you spend on content?
Like a third, maybe half if you include all the show post ones as well. And then like reviewing and proving yourself. Proving everything.
So that's like half of your job. And so post Shark Tank. What are your thoughts? Season one, what surprised you about doing it?
I think the editing was really good because in my head, you know, you kind of like, you know, like every time we went back to the green room and I'm like going on about all the stupid things I said and I should have said this, I should have said that when I watched that, I'm like, man, I'm alright.
Alright. So I'm gonna give you a tequila sh. Okay. And then I'm gonna pepper you with questions.
Okay.
Really pointy ones.
Yes.
And then after that, I'll take you for a tour of the office on my go kart.
Okay, let's do it. Dragging you to it. Caitlin's like, oh, my God, that's huge.
No, that's a Melbourne style shop. Get it down, girls. Good.
Oh, let me just chase it with some vertical coat.
Yes.
That's how we roll.
Any question?
Yes.
That you don't want to answer, you.
Have to ask for.
So what's something that you're working on right now that you're excited about that I don't know about?
We're actually going to launch in the uk.
When?
In a few months. This is confidential. But, like, you know how hard it is for me to be quiet.
I do. And I'm like, okay, this is something I know. Yes. You should know this too. What is the hardest lesson you've had to learn?
This sounds ridiculous or maybe almost a little bit to, like, actually believe in yourself. This is something that I would say to someone when they're starting a business. But I feel like the times where I haven't backed myself, that's been like, the times have gone wrong. I'm like, oh, I wish I had more backbone back then. But then I feel like that's the lesson she learned. I'm feeling the tequila. I'm like, this is getting deep, and I'm getting drunk.
One of the things.
No, no, this one is awesome.
It's a micro one. It's a small one. Oh, my God. It's the hospitality.
How many other people do you do this with?
Just you. It's only you. I got the special treatment for you. Bottoms up. But if you were to start from scratch, you have no connections. You have nothing more than a hundred grand, and you had to launch a new fashion brand. What would be the first three things that you do?
There's a rag trader street where you can just buy from a wholesaler.
Okay.
So you do not spend making your own product, because 100k is not gonna get you far if you're gonna produce your own stuff. Honestly, these days, I think you only need a few hero pieces to test whether you're gonna nail it.
What are the next two things you do?
I will get an influencer. Honestly. Think, like, the image will sell it. And that's your best bet.
Okay. Anyway, let's just say so then. 5k. 5.
I'm in the tank.
And so we had never met, Right? Yeah. We're doing Shark Tank. What was something that either you heard or that you thought about me that was either validated or untrue?
I thought you were, like, way more.
Intense than when you. That I bought a mannequin in your.
You're much. You're much nicer than I thought I expected. I didn't know you had, like, three daughters. And, like, your wife is beautiful. Yeah, you just seem very, like, not like this macho guy, just like, you just seem very, like, unfocused and intense.
Yeah. I'll give you what I thought of you. You were a lot sharper and smarter than I initially thought.
Baldy that we keep referring to. My husband says he hates people that can talk better than they think.
Yep.
And he's like, you're definitely don't talk better than you think.
I'll give you the tour yes.
Sorry, I'm really drunk right now. Oh my God.
Did you.
Sorry, sorry, sorry.
Was all like crazy, like we gutted this whole joint out. Had to fit it all out.
This is amazing. Oh, this is cool.
Yeah. So this is.
Get back to work. No, I'm joking. I'm joking, I'm joking. Oh, this is great. Salam, suckers. We're not moving. Imagine cool while we're moving. Honestly, no, I was, I was shooting like there's like a multiply from Tequila for the sea. For the record, I drive a. A family, wife, very much Discovery Sports.
What are you looking to achieve by making podcast appearances? I think on one hand it's about documenting the climb. I wish that in the beginning that I was shooting video content when I was making 150 cold calls from my bedroom, but I didn't. And about two or three years into it I was like, hey, I'm going to start documenting this. So that's one aspect and then the other aspect about it is it's sending the elevator back down to people that are on the climb. I know that I have learned a lot from watching founders podcasts and seeing people that at a, at a similar stage of, of my business journey when they were at that and just revisiting that long form content, it really gives you a feel of like what's going on inside that person's brain and all the experiences that they've had to get them to where they are. So if I can do that for one or two people along the way, then that time is well worth it. During a podcast appearance, how and when do you realize that it's low quality? You can tell very early on based on how much research somebody's done, by the quality of the questions that they ask you. Some people, they just rock up and they just go through the motions and they just ask you the typical things, right? It's almost like they've just gone to ChatGPT and said, what are some good top 10 podcast questions to ask someone? And then you get people that you can see based on the nuance of the questions that they're asking you is that they have consumed your other podcasts, that they have read your book, that they have watched interviews with you in the past, and they have a genuine interest to ask you questions not only from what would be interesting to them, but what would be interesting to their audience. And they're not just asking you stuff that just a random person off the street would typically ask you. Tell us the story behind the name Internet Daddy. How you came up with that? Who came up with it? This is definitely a you question. This is not a hunter question. They're all me questions. So the way that the Internet daddy was born, it was a name that was given me by. No, in all seriousness, we were in the shark tank, and there was a heated pitch going on, and it got down to the final moments of that pitch, and it was me and another shark, and we were going head to head. All the other sharks were out, and it was just me and this other shark. And I made an offer that was less appetizing than the original offer after the fact that offer was made, which never happens in the shark tank, right? If you want to come in after someone's made an offer, typically you have to bring something else, right? You have to bring a better deal for that entrepreneur to entertain it. Then Robert looked over at me and he's like, oh, so you're offering a worse deal? And I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah, I am Robert. Right? And he's like, why? And I was like, well, look, the thing that I have that none of you guys typically have is that, like, I have created over 50. I haven't just done it for myself. I've gone and done it in all these different categories, in all these different niches, in 136 different countries around the world, have I helped people build businesses. So I am the Internet daddy. And then I made my offer, and that's how the whole thing was born.
