Something I love about how you approach your new business funnel is you will actually offer companies, potential clients, a free audit of their website. And so I can imagine you've probably got hundreds of these audits have been completed. Now overall, what's the number one mistake or challenge that you see people having via those audits as a result of those insights you're getting from them?
Yeah, sure. Well, I think that the number one key takeaway is probably people talking more about themselves and about their services than about their prospects and what their hopes and dreams and fears are. So you know, it's like that age old thing. It's like you open up a website and it's like, oh, welcome to XYZ Business. You know, we've been established for 150 years and you know, we're really, really great. Basically that's what 99% of websites say. So like the very, very first thing is like, you know, changing that whole positioning of the business to basically be focusing on what their prospects are looking for and how they can actually help, you know, their prospects reach their desired outcome. So direct copywriting, having good headlines, having good offers out there, like you can have a really crap website but have like, you know, a red hot headline and a really good offer and a guarantee and you can be a success. So I think that would be probably the number one kind of takeaway is just having you know, a really, kind of really good headline, a really good offer and making sure that the website is talking more about your prospects than it is your business and your services.
Yeah, it's an interesting one, isn't it? Because it really goes back to what a good sales approaches. You should never go in and just talk about yourself for your entire sales meeting. And it's just translating that through to online life, isn't it?
Yeah, well, like they say, like, you know, great salespeople ask lots of questions essentially like, you know, your website and your landing page should be a result of asking lots of questions and knowing what your, you know, know what your prospects are looking for, what are their fears, what are their concerns, what are their hopes and their dreams and then really kind of talking about that in your copy.
Yeah, it's so far from cpm, tick through rate and so on, isn't it? It's just basic human interaction.
Yeah, exactly. It's, you know, the thing is that like, you know, people marketers from all kind of walks of life for all decades have kind of always been like obsessed with shiny objects and like, you know, people always want to know kind of what's that little hack or what's that little trick that I can do, you know, like the little Google leprechaun that will get me on page one of Google overnight or all these like just like gimmicks basically where it's like, if you like the way that I like to look is kind of what is like the most successful market has been doing like spanning over the last 150 years. And the thing is, human psychology hasn't changed in that timeframe. So you look back and you find out what's been working for literally decades and you can apply those principles in Internet marketing. That's where we really kind of see the best success. It's not about the little trick to get double the click through rate on an ad or anything like that. It's about having really, really sound and good market.
