Short YouTube video transcript where Speaker A recounts being invited to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class by their coach, deciding within a week it was the right fit, training five to six days per week, holding a world ranking (5th) in the IBJJF Light Featherweight division, having won multiple nogi tournaments, and currently a colored belt approaching brown.
My Brazilian Jiu Jitsu coach invited me to class.
Yeah.
Start training Jiu Jitsu. And after a week, I was like, oh, this is where I'm meant to be.
How often you train?
Five, six days a week.
Oh, so you're full time?
Yeah, I'm ranked right now number fifth in the entire world in the IBJF Light Featherweight division. Won a bunch of nogi tournaments. So you black belt now? No, I'm a belt. Going on brown.
Yeah, if you do Jiu Jitsu, especially if you do with a gi. You know, people say you shouldn't do Jiu Jitsu with a gi because it's not real life, but that's not the point. Like with a gi, a lot of precision, things have to be done or it's easier to get tapped out. So I think, think Jiu Jitsu teaches you that you can be stronger, but you can lose if you're sloppy, for sure. And a lot of people are sloppy, man. Or if you rush. Yeah, that's all part of sloppiness. You're always going faster than you should.
