A short YouTube monologue (by Nate Tilley) about the difficulty of retaining clients in the fitness/business coaching space. The speaker emphasizes that high churn is normal, that even good clients will leave and sometimes return, and illustrates with an anecdote about a recent client who made repeated excuses despite getting leads and booked appointments. The overall message: expect turnover, persist in lead follow-up, and let go of clients who make continual excuses.

Unfortunately, guys, your best clients will cancel on, they will leave, too. You always have to be up and onward to the next one. That's the reality. Can't ever rest on your laurels with this stuff. But your best clients will leave and come back. And that's what's happened with a lot of these guys. But this industry, you'll get somebody, you'll fill up their gym, and then it's on to the next. That's something you guys have to realize, too, is retention is super hard in this business, and you have to expect to have a high churn rate. I literally had a guy sign up with me not even a month ago. Three weeks in, we've got six appointments on the calendar, and he's just like, oh, hey, man, I figured out that Facebook's just for entertainment. I don't think this is going to work. And I'm like, man, you're wrong. You have six appointments on your calendar. We got you 45 leads so far. It does work. And you just need to call the lead. Oh, well, they don't always answer. Okay, really? Well, let me call one right now. And I called the lead on the phone with them, and I got a hold of the guy and I booked an appointment right there on the phone with him. And I was like, so what's the excuse now? And he's like, well, now I'm spending money on other stuff. And it was just excuse after excuse after excuse. Those are the kind of people that we want to let go.
