Shocking Truth About If You Should Become An Entrepreneur? (Not What You'd Think)

This YouTube interview (Nate Tilley with guest Sabri Suby) gives practical advice on whether to become an entrepreneur. Sabri emphasizes first defining your "dream day" and the exact financial number needed to reach it, then choosing the path—entrepreneurship or joining a growing company—as appropriate. She stresses entrepreneurship requires substantial sacrifice (personal time, family/social activities) and counters simplistic side-hustle promises; she reports working 18-hour days when starting out and summarizes her mindset as "whatever it takes." The clip ends with a viewer call-to-action to like, subscribe, and comment.

Amanda Sabri Subhi joins me now in the studio. I really look at business as an incredible vehicle to really, like, make good and make change in the world.
Like, for those people that are very short, they're very time poor, like, what's your advice for those folks? Should they just work on the weekends? Should they just work late into the night? What's your advice for those folks?
Whatever it takes is the advice. Right? Like, basically, entrepreneurship is not for everybody. And I don't subscribe to the belief that it's the only way to, you know, have impact or to get wealthy. I think that if you attach yourself to a company that is growing and has a lot of opportunity, there's a lot of upside in being an intrapreneur within that organization. And you really need to look at what is the dream life that you're trying to achieve for yourself. What does that dream day look like for you? And then figure out how much money that you're going to need to basically get to live that dream day. What day are you going to? What time are you going to wake up? What are you going to eat for breakfast? Who are you going to work out with? What are you going to do in the evenings? Who are you going to be married to? Are you going to have children? Are you not? Where are you going to go on holiday? What does that thing look like? And then figuring out what is the financial number that you would need to attain in order to basically reach that, that dream day. Not the dream life, but the dream day. And then think about is the best path to get that through entrepreneurship or is it to work for a company? And if you decide that it is to go down the entrepreneurial route, you need to understand that you are going to need to sacrifice huge amounts of things that you hold very dear to you in order to, you know, cross the valley, slay the dragons, climb the mountains in order to get to whatever that place of success looks like for you. But, you know, working eight hours a day commuting, you know, like, when I started my business, I was working 18 hours a day, like, and I don't recommend that to anybody. Right. It's definitely not a good thing for your health. But it comes down to, I am willing to do whatever it takes to get to that destination. And, you know, too many people talk about, it's just, you do this side hustle and you go live in Phuket on the beach, and you're just flipping dog coins and T shirts and drop shipping and doing all of this stuff. And Again, that's the short lived. That's the short lived stuff. Show me where those people are at in a decade.
Yeah. And you know, I think that that resonates really well because again, I worked 18 hour days. I've worked, you know, there's days where I worked 48 hours straight. And I never encourage anyone to do that. Like you said, it's bad for your health, but I get it. I can relate to that. What were some moments where you were sacrificing things in order to get ahead in the business? Were there moments where things were really difficult but you persevered? Like you said, you did whatever it takes despite some things happening in your life? Have you had any moments like that?
Yeah, I've had a lot of moments like that. And when I started my business and I was selling by day, making 150 cold calls in the day, and then I was doing the work too late at night, that was definitely difficult. Right. And especially in the beginning where you're like, shit, like I got to make rent. Like what's. And there's all these building pressures that come up. But in terms of sacrifices, like, I still make a lot of sacrifices and there's a lot of things that I would like, love to do that I still don't get to do. And that's just something that I'm at peace with, that I understand that this is, you know, have to pay the cost in order to get where it is that I want to go. If you don't come to terms with those things, it would be very difficult. Right. It's very easy to give up things that you don't really care about, but it's very difficult to give up things that you really care about. But you still understand that that's just a casualty of what it is that you need to do. And there's all types of stuff, whether it's like just shooting the shit with your buddies or going to play a game, pick up basketball, or, you know, watching the UFC or whatever it might be. There's those. And then there's time, you know, with the family, like, and like getting up and getting after it, like before my daughters are awake and just those things that naturally would be beautiful to be able to do those things. But I understand that in order, you know, to be able to pay the cost, you have to pay the cost. If you enjoyed this video, please like and subscribe.
