Sabri Subhi answers Kieran Taylor’s question about staying motivated while making cold calls from home and what criteria led him to get an office. He emphasizes having a powerful "why"—calling it being on "death ground"—which made doing the work (he cites making ~150 cold calls/day) sustainable. He also describes working from home for about 6–9 months, losing at least one significant deal because prospects expected an office and in-person meetings, and ultimately choosing to rent an office, hire a team, and build a legacy business rather than a lifestyle/freelance operation.
Questions this video answers

Hey, guys, Sabri Subhi here. And on this week, I'm answering Kieran Taylor's question, which is, hey, Sabri, how do you stay motivated doing the cold calls in your bedroom? And what criteria did you have before getting an office? So in terms of the motivation piece, you know, for me, I was really on what we call death ground. I didn't have any other options but to make it work. And I think about the consequences of not making it work and having my why so big that the how of making 150 cold calls a day becomes easy. Because the why is just so big. Right? So that's that piece. You just have to get really crystal clear on why that you're going out and doing these things. When you have to go through a lot of adversity, you have to be really clear on why you're even putting yourself through this level of adversity. That's the only way that you're going to be able to have that momentum and keep going. Then the second part of that question about the criteria of finding an office, you know, I was working from home for a while. I think it was like maybe six, nine months or so. And I started to lose prospects and started to lose clients as a result of not having an office. It was one big deal that I lost. And they wanted us to come into my office and shake my hand. I was still working from my bedroom. I was like, yo, that's not really gonna happen. And I lost that deal. And that was a bit of a reality check for me because when I first started, it was just about really paying my rent and putting food on the table. And then when that happened, I was like, okay, well you've been doing this for like six to nine months now. Like, what are you gonn doing now? Like, are you gonna build something that's a lot bigger than yourself, or are you just gonna build like a lifestyle business and a cash flow business and just be a consultant, like freelancing and working from home? And that was when I got really clear and I kind of had that honest conversation with myself of like, no, like, this is what I want to do and I want to build something that's going to be a legacy business and I'm going to be really proud of and it's going to be able to have a lot more impact than I would just be able to do. And I love being around people, I love building teams, I love building businesses. And a part of that was actually making the commit and going out there and getting an office and hiring a team and just building something that's just a lot bigger than myself. There you go.
