Training the store and they canceled the training. Do they teach you when you can't close the deal to go get your manager, or is it your dealership and you walk them off the lot?
It may lots of us going on.
You need to go tell your managers they need to get a new training program because the one you have now isn't selling you more cars.
Well, sir, I was just going to transfer you there. This call may be recorded for training and customer assurance.
Training the store, and they canceled the.
Training for the sales department.
Let's see how that's working.
This is Peter. How can I help you?
Hey, Peter. I was calling to get some information on a 2021 Toyota Camry I saw on the Internet.
This is a great car, sir. Let me double check the status. While I'm checking, can you also confirm your name, sir?
Yeah, my name is Tom.
And your last name, sir? Tom.
Matthew.
Matthew. Okay, as I can see here, the car is very much available. Also comes along with a clean title. And yeah, it means it's not salvaged, not flooded.
Guys, clearly reading this.
And we're open today until 7pm sir, we're. We're in Texas. Do you have any other plans for today?
I'm actually out of state, buddy, so I saw it's listed at 18.9. Is that correct?
Yes, sir.
Okay, what's your best price?
It's already on its best price. Actually, it was already discounted, and we're making sure that we're very competitive with our prices.
Okay, well, I saw one with 10,000 less miles. That's 500 or less. That's about 10 miles away from you. And I was gonna go look at it, then I just decided to call and see what your best price would be on this one.
Well, sir, it may lots of us going on. Sorry.
So is it your best price and I need to get off the phone, or is there a better deal?
It's already on its best price here.
Okay. Looks like I'm gonna go buy down the road. I appreciate you.
All right, well, thank you so much for calling. Have a good one.
Hey, let me ask you a question. What's your name?

My name is Peter.
Peter, let me ask you a question. Do you know the owners that opened that car dealership? They worked really hard to build it. They bought all that inventory. They spend tons of money on advertising each month. Don't they teach you whenever you work there that if you can't close a deal, you go get your manager?
But, sir, we have. Peter.
Peter, do they teach you when you can't close the deal to go get your manager, or is it your dealership and you walk them off the lot?
Well, sir, I think you're from out of state, right?
Whether I'm out of state in state, I'm asking you, when they hired you, when they onboarded you to the company, did they tell you that you needed to get a ton of with a manager when you couldn't close a deal, or do you let someone leave? Which one?
We're just following the policy, sir.
So they don't want your customers. When they have a concern about buying something, they don't want to talk to the customers. You're saying your managers don't want to talk to the customers at your dealership if there's. If everything doesn't line up perfect? Is that what you're saying?
Well, sir, I was just going to transfer you then.
No, no, Peter, I'm asking you, which one do you think is the right thing to do? We already know what you did, but which one do you think is the right thing to do?
I think for me, sir, getting your.
Manager would have probably been the right thing to do. Am I right? Yes, sir.
Okay.
Okay, Peter, Peter, question. So do you guys have a training program that you guys train on in your company that teaches you this stuff, or do you have to figure it out the hard way and guess on your own?
Yes, we do, sir. Of course we're figuring stuff in order for us to improve our business.
Well, it sounds like your training program isn't that good or you just didn't follow it. So is your training not that good or you just didn't follow it? Which one?
Well, sir, first of all, we're assigned to follow that know how go policy.
Sir, what about the customer service? I think that. I think the customer service is probably number one before the no haggle. Don't you think so? I mean, wouldn't you agree, Peter, that's probably the right thing to do?
It's. It's. Yeah. Yeah, you're right.
Okay, good. That dealership. That dealership probably cost about $20 million to build. Your owner probably spends a half a million a month in marketing to get that phone to ring. Peter, for you to have a conversation with somebody and not be an order taker, like, welcome to McDonald's. Okay, like, there's got to be some.
Some.
Some thought process here that, you know, should. Should I maybe get some help here? Because everybody's worked so hard to open this company and build this business. Like, shouldn't I do my part to maybe set, you know, set this customer up to. To win? I mean, right? I mean, are you thinking back now and you're like, I could have handled this call differently now?
Yeah, you're correct, sir.
Okay, good. That. Peter, that's called training. What I did is I just trained you how to sell more cars. Does that help you?
Yes, sir.
Okay, if that. If that was in your training right now, you would have probably sold me a car, because you would have done that. But it sounds like the training you currently have doesn't have that in there. Does that make sense?
Yeah, it makes sense. Here.
Okay, you need to go tell your managers they need to get a new training program because the one you have now isn't selling you more cars.
Well, they of doubt for sure, sir.
Okay, have a great day, Peter. Thank you. Bye. Bye. Grilled that kid.
