What Are Better? Instagram Or Facebook Ads: Photo or Video? (More Here)

Sabri Suby recommends using both image and video ads on Facebook and Instagram to reach different audiences. The platform's algorithms are sophisticated enough that trying to trick them backfires, so focus instead on testing different creative types, placements, and ad copy that actually grabs attention.

Hey guys. This week on HeySubree, I'm going to be answering Marcos Monoz's question. He said, hey, Sabri, what kind of ads do you recommend doing? Image or video, and why, and if you could share some tips for doing it, it would be fantastic. Thanks, Sabri. You are a beast. Thank you, Marcos. So first of all, I recommend doing both image and video because essentially the way that Facebook works in auction pool and its ad inventory is that there are buyers in every little pocket for every type of ad. So sidebar, ad, news, feed, ad, video, image, the whole thing, right? So you really need to unlock all of those buyers where they are. And what you need to understand is if we're just talking about, you know, Facebook, cause you're asking about image and video, so I assume that you're talking about Facebook and Instagram is that their algorithm is very advanced and it knows if you're optimizing a campaign, for instance, based on conversions, it knows that if you target a conversion ad to somebody in the morning when they're on their mobile phone, the chances of you driving a conversion are going to be very, very low. Right? And it knows that if you show someone a video ad and they don't convert on the, on the commute, and then if you show them a text ad in the evening. So there's all these things going on, right? And I see people try and trick the algorithm and they try to out muscle it and they try to beat the brightest, sharpest, highest paid engineers in the whole world when they're running their ads. Do you think that Facebook hasn't thought about all of these things and that their algorithm isn't far more advanced than anybody that's just started running ads? And the answer to that should be very obvious. But basically what you really want to be doing is focusing on a mixture of everything. Video, images, long form, short form, sidebar, newsfeed, messenger, everything that you've got. You want to utilize all of that inventory and in terms of, you know, kind of, kind of tips and rules around that. You just want to look at some of my other videos on YouTube where I talk about how to grab people's attention, how to suck them into your ad, how to write copy that really tells a story and get somebody to take the action that you want them to do and that your ad is designed to do, which is to sell the click. I hope that helps. Hey guys, if you enjoyed this video, make sure that you click the like button and subscribe. We're dropping a video on YouTube every other day.
