A blog post hit 50,000 views in two days in November 2011, then disappeared. That taught the difference: blogs spike and fade, while newsletters build a steady audience that grows over time because people get content delivered instead of hunting for it.
I had this post in like 2 days, it got 50,000 views and I thought like, oh, I've made it as a blogger. But then the next month there was nothing. Yeah. And if you had hid that month, November 2011, in the Google Analytics graph, you would've never guessed that anything had happened. And that was really when I discovered newsletters. And cuz that's the difference of like people stick around and they wanna follow. Yeah. And you get to build on something that compounds instead of like this went viral and then we're back to nothing, you know?
And I think it's easier for the reader too. Like you're just magically there every week in their inbox, whereas like on a blog You kind of have to go find them or seek it out.
