The goal gradient effect makes people work harder as they get closer to finishing. Athletes sprint near the finish line, and you can use this by creating intermediate checkpoints to boost your own motivation and focus.

There's a concept out there called the goal gradient effect, which essentially states that our intensity, our focus, and our effort increases to the degree that we can see the finish line. That effect helps pro sports out a lot. The best example is running. If you think about running a mile, when you see you're about to finish, you get 100 feet closer, 90 feet closer, 80 feet closer, you tend to quote unquote sprint through the finish line. Same thing happens in zero-sum games. Like when you see a finish line, you tend to give enhanced effort. Recommendation is I would take and use that mental model to create some finish lines or goalposts for people. That's just how to enhance motivation, enhance focus. You just kind of leveraging that principle. You can do that as a company or even individually.
