Transcript excerpt from a YouTube interview where Blake Wyatt discusses being hired two years earlier to build a low-ticket funnel (a self-liquidating offer, SLO) and the hosts emphasize honest, up-to-date case studies rather than outdated ‘glory days’ examples. The conversation focuses on testing current-winning tactics and learning from both failures and successes.
We talked about beforehand on Mastermind stages or live events is that people generally will default to case studying on the glory days or stuff that did work but doesn't work anymore or inflate the numbers. Various things.
Yeah. I mean, honestly, the main thing for me is like they brought me in, so I was hired two years ago to do a low ticket funnel. They're like, we want an SLO because everything that had the time was BSL based or lead magnets and they were just working those.
I want to just get cut to the truth, actually learn. And if we're failing, we're failing. If we're winning, we're winning. We want to learn from, you know, what's winning right now, if you're having a hard time with it or if you just want to double down.
The funny story is that they asked me if I wanted to be the marketing director and I said no for about like six months. And then they finally said, well, why don't you just do a couple of the projects with us and see how you like it? And I was like, okay, cool. So. And then I said yes. And then they brought me on a team meeting and they introduced me as the marketing director and I was like, oh, shit. It's like that. Okay.
