Breathe Together Sunday

Kyle guides a live Soma Breath session on circulating energy through the body's meridians using breath work, visualization, and muscle tension-release. The practice moves energy up the spine and down the front via the Du and Ren meridians, a Taoist technique called the microcosmic orbit. Participants share their vibrational states and ask questions throughout.

Welcome everyone, welcome! Let me make sure that you can all see me clearly and that we are live together. Yes, yes, yes! Can you all hear me? Thumbs up! Can you all see me? You can. Thank you, Rachel. Thank you, Barry. Thank you, Kyle. Thank you, everyone. Amazing. More and more people are joining our Sunday Breathe Together session with Soma Breath. Ah, how great it is to be part of this community. Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, wherever you're tuning in from right now. Now, who can guess, before you enter into the chat box where you're tuning in from, who can guess where I am at?
Where am I?
What's going on? Where am I? Because this is a very unique weekend, okay? Let me just have a quick check-in. If anyone knows where I am, some of you should, some of you should. Please use— exactly, please use the chat box as well because I do love these interactions. So I know that first of all that you're all present, that you're not somewhere on your phone, that you're actually devoted to the Sunday Soma Breath session, okay? So all the distractions, shush them. Shush your family or bring them in, okay? But no distractions, no phones. Barcelona, of course I'm in Barcelona because we just completed the Soma Breath instructor training level 1. 16 brand new instructors are out in the world sharing their magic, and it just took one weekend. Of being together with myself and Claudia Solis, who you of course know as well as the Sunday Breathe Together host mentor. So it's been such a pleasure to be doing this work with my dear soul sister Claudia Solis. My name is Piotr Ciepiel, by the way, if some of you don't know who I am yet. If you're brand new to Soul My Breath, if you're brand new to Sunday Breathe Together, if you clicked on the link in YouTube or your emails, welcome. We welcome you all. It's a beautiful container that we hold each other. We hold each other so we can breathe together, we can be together, we can have a little connection together. So yes, so the weekend went phenomenal. And trust me when I say, if you want to become a somabreathe instructor and you start the online course, there's nothing better than coming to an instructor training in person because you'll get the vibe, you get the feel, you get the community and the empowering moments that we had here. The sharing circles, the practices. We keep practicing. We kept practicing so much that people literally were reciting the Soma Breathwork journey in their sleep. Okay, that's what's happening. In 2, out 2, 3, 4. In 2, out 2, 3, 4. It's like a mantra. We're like, oh, thank you, Bert. Thank you, thank you. But yes, so, and of course, you know, there's more beautiful retreats happening which we're gonna talk about at the end of today's session, but I really want to devote my time now as well to welcome everyone to this space, to our Sunday Beat Together. Put into the chat box where are you tuning in from, because as I said, I am in Barcelona. If you don't know where Barcelona is, it is in Spain, it is in Europe. And we have Canada in the house, we have Dallas, we have Georgia, we have Israel. Welcome, Tammy. We have Sedona, we have New York, France. We've been to France last week in Nice. We have Athens, Greece. We have Norway. Welcome, Tommy. So many of you are joining our Sunday Breathe together. It's lovely to see you all. And of course, if you are as well on YouTube, make sure you have— because you have the Zoom link there, because I'm also watching YouTube, by the way. So I'm here and there. But if you have— there's a Zoom link shared. Join us in the Zoom room so you can interact in the chat and then have maybe at towards the very end questions to the most incredible incredible guide that you'll meet today. The person that I actually, from the entire Somabrit family, he is one of the last ones that I haven't met in person. Actually just realized that because with David, Chantal, Niraj Naik, Brooke, Claudia, you know, we interact, we meet each other, and Kyle is the last one that, you know, I'm yet to meet in person, which will happen. It will happen. And then there's going to be hugs. I will, you know, I'm known as Big Bear, so I'm not going to let him go, basically, because this, this person has been such a foundation in the Summerbet course to get to know the music, the mixing, the testing. And he's here today to deliver a beautiful guided session. And of course, in just a moment, I will introduce him and give him the mic. But let me also share that one question that I want you all to answer in the chat box. And the question is How are you feeling right now from a scale of 1 to 11? Let's use 11 as that number. From 1 to 11, how are you feeling? What is your current state? Because it's so important to understand where you're at right now in this moment. I'll be very honest with you, I am super tired, tired. As you can see, I mean, it was super tired, but so happy to be here with you and to do this and to host because it's, it's It's such a gift to be in this community. So I'm tired, but I'm still a 9. Yeah, I think you can see this. I'm still a 9, and it's amazing. It's phenomenal. That's what you guys do. That's what you— this energy. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. So let me just quickly have a look at the chat. We have amazing— we have an 8. We have an 8. We have a 7, 7, 8. We have Gail is a 2. Debbie, you're an 11. And we have an 8, ah, 5, 5, beautiful, 8, 6. And the great thing is to tap into the number of your current state is that, you know, throughout these journeys, if you've been here before, you know, if you're brand new, welcome, put into the chat if you're brand new, if you're a newbie to Soul on Breath, to the Sunday Breathe Togethers. But the journey itself that Kyle will be delivering will hopefully usually bring your vibration up. It's all about level of vibrational energy. And from that number, if you're 5 right now, hopefully you can jump up to a 6 or a 7. If you're an 8, hopefully you can be a 9 or stay in that 8 but more blissful 8. So it's so important to understand as well the power of community, soma breath, the music, and then the guided session. Are we all ready? Corina, are you ready? I see you, Karina. I see everyone. I'm like, Lynette, yes, exactly, thank you. Give me a thumbs up, everyone. Good. Marcy, Ingrid, Lindsay, welcome back, Lindsay. Lovely. Yes, exactly. Yes, yes, yes. Hearts, hearts, hearts shared. Amazing. And today's session, unique session, Awakening the Microcosmic Orbit.
Wow.
With the one and only Kyle. He will introduce the session himself. How you're going to be breathing in the session. So no worries at all, you know, you're in safe hands. So the way we're going to be breathing in somabreath at today's session, the contraindications for the breath holds, and allow yourself to be here fully present without expectations. Just listen and be guided. Does that sound like a— I'm ready, I'm ready. Amazing. Okay, without further ado, I'm so proud of myself. I did that in 8 minutes, Kyle. I did that in 8 minutes. I'm so proud, so proud. Okay, I'm unmuting you. I'm sharing the stage with you. It's an honor, and I'm spotlighting you. The floor is yours.
Awesome. Thank you so much, Piotr. I always appreciate your energy, and also I'm looking forward to finally meeting you and a lot of the other Soma family, uh, in person. I've been kind of in the in the background and just, just hasn't really aligned quite yet. So when that happens, it'll be a beautiful greeting in person. So I'm looking forward to it. But, um, yeah, everybody, welcome. Um, again, that was a great introduction. So for those who are new, I'm just going to give a brief little overview of what we do in general as somabreath practitioners with this technique. I'm gonna explain a little bit of the safety, and then I'll dive into this week or today's theme. Um, so in general, Summer Breath has 3 phases. We have an intention setting, we have a rhythmical breathing portion, and we have a breath retention portion. And we have 2 different types of breath retentions or breath holds. So we always start off with some sort of intention setting to create some sort of theme or an intention that we want to bring into the practice. So today the theme is going to be Awakening the Microcosmic Orbit. It's a form of Taoist meditation that I'll explain in just a brief moment here. Um, my background as a somatic breath instructor, I'm one of the master instructors, transformational coaches, and I also teach qigong and Taoist arts as well. And so a lot of my themes in my sessions have some sort of intention around alchemy, internal alchemy, transformation, or Taoist energy practices. And that's going to be the main focus, the intention setting for this session here today. So we have an intention that we set. Usually we use guided imagery as a big portion of that intention setting. We then move into rhythmical breathing. And so here the technique is very simple. We're breathing in through the nose, we're breathing out through the mouth, and we're going to be synchronizing the breath to a perfect rhythm. So you're going to hear the breathing sounds as well as the count in the music. So all you need to do is listen and try to match your breathing to the pace of the breath in the, in the music. So we do that with a deep diaphragmatic breath, and we're going to do a breath test to kind of encourage that in just a moment. But we want to be breathing deep here. It's not just this like erratic chest breathing that we're kind of sometimes used to doing based off of old patterns and habits, but instead it should be nice and even, smooth, circular, and controlled. So again, I will be guiding the particulars of how to get that perfect breath rhythm, but just know it's a circular breathing and we're going to be breathing in for a count of 4 and out for a count of 4. So it's going to be an even breath around. So we do that for a few minutes to charge up the body with this love, this life force energy, the prana or the chi as they call it. And we do that for about 4 to 5 minutes to really charge it up. And then we move into the breath retention phase, and there's two parts to this. So when we exhale all the air out of our lungs completely, we enter into that first phase. We call this bhaya kumbhaka in yoga, and you're basically just holding the breath out with no air in the lungs for as long as you can. And as you do this, you want to be sitting upright with the spine straight, and you're going to tuck the chin into the neck. And this is creating what's called a neck lock, and this will prevent any air kind of seeping in. It'll also prevent too much energy rising up into the head at once. So you hold the breath, you're dropping your chin, everything, you're just relaxing. You're not tensing anything. You're just surrendering and allowing yourself to kind of turn within into a deep state of meditation and stillness. And as you're holding the breath, eventually you're going to hit this, this portion where you feel this hunger of this air hunger, right? You need to breathe. And so as that builds up, you want to try to stay calm in that moment. And try to hold off for as long as you can. And when it becomes too much, you can feed that urge with a small little booster breath, as we call it. So it's just a small sip in and then back out to affirm that you're in control of this process and that you are safe. So you can take a couple of those booster breaths if you need it. The, the main goal here is to try to extend the amount of time that you're holding your breath out with no air. And this is what's putting us into a state of intermittent hypoxia. And if you're new to Soma, that's like the main thing of what we focus on. If you're an instructor, if you're— you've been with us for a while, you understand that that's kind of the magic on the science of what's going on here. So we're holding our breath, take a couple of those booster breaths, and eventually I'll give the cue and we'll breathe together in, and then we hold on the top of the inhale that time. So we hold that not as long, only about 30 seconds, to re-oxygenate the body, to kind of come back in to feel this surge of energy flowing throughout the entire body. You might feel the surge rise up your spine. I'm going to be guiding again every step of the way. So once you hold the breath for only about 30 seconds, you then release out with a tone or a sigh, ah, to kind of come back into your normal breathing. And so that completes one round of the breath. We're going to be doing two rounds here together today. So just to summarize, We have rhythmical breathing in and out of the nose.
We hold the breath out, drop the chin into the neck, hold for as long as you can.
Take a couple of booster breaths if you need it to try to extend that amount of time that you're holding the breath. And then we take a big inhale, hold, and then release.
Ha.
So fairly simple. Again, I'll be guiding you every step of the way, so you don't need to remember all the details. Just follow my instructions. So the Microcosmic Orbit, what is that?
So it's something that basically became famous in, in the 1980s.
And again, I'm just going to be very brief about this.
We can talk so much and go into a lot of detail, but I'm going to try not to.
But just for some context, this is basically one of China's most guarded secrets. Up until the '80s.
This was one of their prized treasures for meditation, for internal alchemy, for meditation. Back in the '80s, Mantak Chia kind of revealed it to the public, got a lot of flack for it, but it became very popular, especially amongst circles of qigong and martial arts. And since then, there's been lots of misconceptions as it's been popularized. And just like everything, as it becomes leaked out, people kind of form their own opinions on it. So there's different variations and different lineages will have so many different in that opinion.
So there's still like a basic kind of foundation of what it is.
Essentially, it is the circulation of energy within the body through two main meridians. And if you guys are at all familiar with like yoga or Chinese medicine or anything like that, you know that there's tons of channels of energy that flow flow through the body, the acupuncture meridians, if you call them that. So there's two main ones that are basically the, the two sources of fire and water, or heat and, and fluid within your body, and that's the Du and the Ren. So there's a— what they call the Du meridian is like the fire channel in your body. It runs up your spine. And then the Ren meridian is like the water meridian. It drops down the front of your body. And together they create this orbit or this circuit of energy that flows up the spine and down the front of the body. And there's a little switch that allows the circulation happen, it's, it's through the tongue. And so a lot of practices will tell you take the tongue and put it up to the roof of the mouth. And so that's an important part of this process. It acts like a switch that turns on this energetic circuit. Now most of the time Actually, when we hit puberty, the, the Ren meridian reverses and energy starts to go up the Ren. So a normal adult, they'll have energy rising up the spine and up the front. And that's what has energy that accumulates in the head. And that's why a lot of times we're very caught up in the head, right? We're in this sensory experience. We're thinking a lot. We're trying to plan and to do things. And so it's because this energy is rose up into the head, right? And so a lot of this process, what we're trying to do is we're trying to reverse that down so that the front meridian actually drops down back into the belly. So it completes a circuit rather than everything flowing up. So one other thing to say about this is that, you know, there's a lot of modern-day like Kundalini exercises out there, which they come from a lot of, again, misconceptions. There's so many misconceptions about Kundalini. We don't have time to get into it at all. But a lot of people are just bringing the energy up the spine, right? Bring it up into the head, just bring it up into the head. And that's only half of the equation, right? Because what comes up must also fall down. You know, if everything's being brought up into the head, especially if that's already the natural flow of a normal adult in modern society, you're going to have a lot of stuff going on in the head. And a lot of times that can lead to headaches. A lot of times it can lead to what's called Kundalini syndrome, where you feel like you just you're so, so shocked with energy that you can't sleep properly, you can't control your mind. You're just so caught up in that sympathetic nervous system, right? You're, you're just like super high on energy, but you can't calm and rest and ground, right? And so this grounding is an important part of energetic practice in general. And so a lot of times in Kundalini yoga, they had this in place as a safety mechanism first. They've built up this dropping of energy first so that anything excess that rises up will then also drop down. And so that's a big part of what a lot of modern Kundalini is missing, is the, the dropping down. Because if everything is just rising up, then it'll get stuck, and we don't want that to happen. So this is going to be a very safe way to start to enter into some deep energetic practice and it's very foundational. So it's not like you need to have a whole lot of experience. I will say that the Microcosmic Orbit, even though it is a practice, it's a process more than anything. So we can do like practices and techniques and methods to try to stimulate or to open it up. But it's something that's going to gradually happen over time. It's a natural process, but it takes lots of time and dedication. So it's not just going to happen in one session here. So just to let you know that, basically though, the bet— the main thing is we're going to be bringing energy up the spine and then bringing it back down into the abdomen, right? So that's the flow of the Microcosmic Orbit. We're going to take the tip of the tongue and we're going to connect it right behind the front teeth.
And that's going to mean—
going to be the main things to focus on for this session. So without going any deeper, we're going to get into it. So for this practice, I want you to sit up with your spine straight. I know in, in somatic breath, sometimes we recommend you can lie down, but for this one in particular, because it's a Taoist meditation practice, we do want to sit up. Sitting on the floor cross-legged is best, but if you— if that's not comfortable If you prefer to sit in a chair, that's fine. Just make sure that your feet are flat on the floor. I'm going to start off again just tuning in and just feeling your physical body.
In Taoist inner alchemy, there's lots of symbolism that's used for methods of working with the body, with the mind, with energy.
And the first step usually in inner alchemy is all about the furnace and the cauldron. And the furnace is the body itself.
It's what provides heat.
And so we're gonna just stabilize our furnace. We're gonna clean the furnace, as they call it, by simply becoming aware of our entire body.
I'm gonna move into a progressive relaxation exercise. We're gonna inhale, and as we inhale, we're gonna squeeze, we're gonna scrunch up our face, try to flex the muscles of the head and the face.
And then you're gonna release.
Ah, the sigh of good feelings.
You can allow all the muscles of the face to relax and release.
Drop your awareness down into your shoulders. Inhale. As you inhale, you want to try to contract and squeeze your shoulders in together, and then release.
Ha!
Move into the arms. Inhale, squeeze Squeeze, flex the arms, squeeze your hands into a fist, and then release out. Ha. Moving down to your abdomen and your torso, and you're gonna breathe deeply in. You're gonna flex your abdomen Try to create the six-pack abs, and then you're gonna release.
Ha!
You're gonna move down into your thighs and your glutes. So as you inhale, you're gonna squeeze and contract your glutes, your thighs, and then release.
Ha! Ah.
And then finally the lower legs.
As you inhale, flex the feet, flex the calves.
And again, release.
Ah.
And try to again bring your attention, your awareness into your entire body all at once. As you inhale, you're gonna squeeze every muscle of your body gradually and carefully, and then release. Ah, and try to continue to maintain full body awareness So become aware of your breathing. Just notice how the breath is flowing in this moment. You can place one hand on the chest, one hand on the belly, and just feel your body breathing in this moment. Once you've felt your natural breathing rhythm, you're gonna start to ride that rhythm, and you're just gonna give it a little bit of effort. So as you inhale, you catch the inhale, you're gonna just extend and expand, breathing in a little bit more on the inhale. And then once you get to the top of the inhale, you're just gonna let go. You're gonna allow the body to naturally exhale. You're just gonna watch your body exhale till it gets to the very bottom. And again, you're gonna follow that breath in a little bit of effort. You want to try to guide the breath so it reaches deep into the belly. You want to try to feel your lower hand on the abdomen pressurize as you breathe in, so your belly pushes against your hand. And as you exhale, you feel that pressure just naturally release. You want to fine-tune your breathing so that the top hand on the chest isn't really moving at all. Top of the torso, the chest, the ribs just remaining still. And so the diaphragm is just expanding down below, kind of pushing down, creating pressure in your belly. And you just release.
And this lower belly, this lower abdomen, what we call the cauldron, the lower dantian. So this is where majority of our work and our focus is going to be.
Just feel and sense this space in your lower abdomen, this lower abdominal cavity, feeling your breath anchored here naturally. This belly breathing.
So once we've stabilized the furnace, we've calmed the cauldron, Ready for the inner alchemy.
So we're gonna bring our attention, our awareness, to a feeling of gratitude, feeling of joy. I want you to remember the last time you felt joyful. It was the last time you felt super blissful. Maybe from a previous breathwork session, felt leaving you, felt totally at one with yourself, vibrating with bliss. Maybe it was the last time that you just felt genuine gratitude for an experience in life, like you were just blessed by the divine. Maybe it was the last time there was some sort of synchronicity or alignment in your life. Perhaps it's just genuine gratitude for being alive in this moment, the ability to do an experience like this. We're gonna anchor that into a feeling and into an action. So we're gonna smile as we connect to that feeling, just lifting the corners of the mouth slightly into a soft Buddha-like smile. As you anchor this feeling into the smile, you know that every time you return back to this smile, you're able to return back to this feeling that's been accumulating through your life experience. You can call this the secret smile. The more that you return to this secret smile, this inner smile, the more that you can build up this vibration, this frequency. It becomes a dominant force in your life. You're just in this total acceptance, total appreciation, this flow of joy, reverence for life. This secret smile, this feeling, you're gonna anchor it, you're gonna crystallize it into a sphere. So you're gonna shape your mind into a sphere. This sphere is holding this vibration, the secret smile, this energy.
You can even give it a color.
I like to use just pure white light. Just see the sphere of light sitting in your chest. Connect to this vibration. Gonna then take this sphere and you're gonna drop it down with your attention, dropping it down into the cauldron. That's in your lower abdomen. So you can place your hands one on top of the other and place that over top of the abdomen. You can just rest your hands gently in your— on your knees, whatever is comfortable. As we get prepared to breathe in a rhythm, we're gonna exhale all the air out to begin. And as we breathe in, 2, 3, 4, and out, 2, 3, 4. Gonna start with a very smooth and subtle breath.
3, 4, out, 2.
Try to make the breath quiet, even, 3, 4.
1, 2, 3, 4. In.
Have your tongue still connected to the roof of the mouth.
1, 2.
Resting right behind the front teeth.
In, 2, 3, 4.
The jaw is hanging loose.
1, 2, 3, 4.
You're just feeling the breath deep in your lower belly, condensing and crystallizing this sphere of light as it sits in your belly. As you breathe in, feel that pressure build in your belly, and as you Exhale, that pressure just naturally releases. Breathe in. Energy contracts in. Breathe out.
In.
Just feeling the rise and fall of the belly.
3, 2, 4, 2, out, 2, 3, 2, 4, in, 2, 3, 2, 4, and out, 2, 3, 2, 4, in, 2, 3, 2, 4, and release, 2, 3, 2, 4.
Keep the breath smooth and subtle. There's no need to fill the lungs with air. There's no need to be vigorous. Keep the entire body relaxed. In this process, we're refining our energy, we're refining our mind and attention. So keep the body still as you breathe. Keep the breath deep. Keep your attention in the sphere that's in your belly, feeling as you breathe, that sphere becomes more and more palpable, more and more tangible. Keep your focus, your concentration in your belly. You crystallize this smiling energy, harnessing this chi, this vibration. Feeling this electromagnetic charge building in your belly. Don't let it escape. Keep your focus. Concentrating with each breath, building this sphere of light and energy. You might feel heat and tingling building up as you breathe. Staying with the rhythm, keeping the breath smooth and subtle as we get ready for our first breath retention. Take a nice deep inhale, pressurizing the lower belly for a moment as you hold.
And as you exhale, ah, you can release all of the air out of the lungs.
You're gonna hold your breath, dropping the chin. Into the neck. And as you surrender into stillness, you're going to keep your concentration in your lower abdomen and just observing the sensations there, feeling the sphere in your belly, this elixir. Notice if there's any bubbling sensations the bubbling cauldron. Just observe, just feel what's going on in your belly. Keep your attention inside of your body, inside of your abdomen. As the oxygen levels drop and the carbon dioxide rises, that urge to breathe might begin to emerge for you. Try Try to relax into it. Once that urge becomes too much, you can feed that urge with a little booster breath, just a small sip of air in and out. Smooth and controlled. As you hold the breath again, going deeper, further crystallizing the elixir, feeling that sphere pulsating with this energy. And again, when the urge becomes too much, try to hold past. And when you need to, we're gonna take a nice deep inhale, fully in. You're gonna hold, you're gonna gently pull up on the pelvic floor, gonna gently push down on the diaphragm so everything is condensing into the lower belly. Everything's very gentle here, further condensing this sphere of energy in the, in the belly. And when we need to, let it go with the tone.
Om.
And as you tone, feel the vibration in the belly reverberating that sphere, the elixir.
Om. Mm.
Make that vibration as deep and low as you can.
Mm.
And then release. Just feel, feel the bubbling cauldron in your belly. This cauldron holding this elixir pearl, this sphere of smiling energy, this healing energy. Perhaps you may see it in your mind's eye, but most importantly, you want to feel it. Feel this pulsing Satisfying sphere of energy in your belly. This time we're going to circulate the energy. As we exhale, drop it down into the tailbone. And this time, as we breathe in, we're going to bring it up the spine. 3, up into the head, and as we exhale, we're gonna drop it down the front of the body.
4.
Inhale to lift it up the spine. 4. And exhale to drop it down the front of the body.
4.
To help lift it up, you can gently pull up the pelvic floor.
4.
As you exhale, you release, everything drops back down.
4.
Inhale, gently squeeze those muscles, the pelvic floor, and then exhale, release. Inhale, pulling that sphere through your spine up into the head. Exhale, drop it down through your tongue, through front of the body. In, energy rises, and out. 2 energy drops. Inhale, pull up, roll the eyes up. Exhale, roll the eyes down, release, relax. Inhale, bring it up. Exhale, drop it down.
You can move your body to help.
Inhale, shift back. Lean back and exhale, lean forward.
Inhale, look up.
Exhale, look down. Keep the breath smooth, subtle, silent.
Ah.
The outer breath is not as important as the inner breath. Internal flow and circulation of this energy as it rises up like fire and drops back down like water. Heat, fire rises, water condenses and drops down. My brain. This mixing of fire and water creates this internal steam. Let's to neutralize the polarities of yin and yang. As you neutralize this energy, these dual energies in the body, come into a deeper state of balance, equanimity.
3, 4.
You strengthen the communication between your brain and your gut and the heart, the center of it all, regulating Coming into a deeper sense of peace, equanimity. Just stay with meditation rising and dropping this sphere, circulating this life force. Breathing in, lift it up. And exhale, drop it down. This infinite loop of energy. That's right, you are the alchemist. Refining this inner elixir. Changing the biochemistry. Harnessing the power of your life force.
Inhale, lift it up.
Exhale, release, drop it down. Fire rises. Water falls.
In and out.
And now one last breath, fully in. Bring that sphere up the spine, up into the brain. Hold for a moment and feel that sphere lighting up your brain. As that sphere condenses, creating this saliva, you feel your mouth fill with saliva. As you exhale, you can swallow down Drop that down and exhale completely.
Shh.
Feeling all of the energy, your attention, the saliva drops down into your belly. Feel the bubbling cauldron in your belly, just observing and witnessing the sensations here as you hold your breath. Chin is dropped, everything is relaxed. Feel that pulsating, vibrating sphere, any tingling, any sense of magnetism or heat. When that urge begins to emerge, relax into the discomfort. When it becomes too much, take that booster breath. Sss. Hold the breath again. Going deeper into stillness, anchoring your attention into the cauldron in your lower abdomen. On this next urge, again pushing past the comfort zone, When it becomes too much, take that rebirthing breath fully in. Hold, compress, lifting gently up on the pelvic floor, gently flexing the abdomen, gently pushing down on the diaphragm, condensing everything into the lower abdomen. Feeling this elixir crystallize, holding for as long as is comfortable here. When you need to release, tone as low and deep as you can, holding attention in the abdomen.
Mm.
And just release. Observe the sensations in your effortlessly breathing belly. Just attention. Feeling this elixir that you carry within you, this refined energy of smiling bliss. I encourage you to remain just in a silent stillness for as long as you can, just observing your effortlessly breathing belly. But for the sake of time and for the sake of this call, I'm going to close down with just a brief little exercise. We can take our hands, our palms, we can just rub the belly in circles. Call this putting the lid on the cauldron. Just rubbing your belly. If you want, you can take the tongue, swish it around the edges of the gums, gathering any saliva. As the saliva— it's where the inner pharmacy, our internal elixir, is released, nourishing all of the endocrine glands, all the functions of our body. If you have some saliva, you can curl the tongue into a straw, draw in a little bit of air. You can swallow down with a nice loud gulp, like you're clearing your throat, feeling that saliva, this internal elixir, drop down. And just feeling your body, the soma awakened.
Hmm.
And when you're ready, coming back into your normal waking state.
Thank you so much, Kyle. Thank you so much for your guidance and for inviting us into your world, which is a beautiful world. Every time you explain and you bring us on this journey, there's so much depth in it. And it's so beautiful that, you know, you are right now in this embodiment, bringing in all the ancient wisdom to the modern world, to where we are. And I do believe that we all have this nearly like beautiful way of speaking the truth that has been saved through ancestors. And then with every single person's coming, coming into this lifetime or into a body, we're able to now bring it to the world again. So I I really do appreciate you, Kyle, because you have such a beautiful way of explaining and also with just so much light and so much love and so much understanding for that, you know, that mission of yours. So I appreciate you, brother. And again, trust me when I say when we meet in person and it's going to happen very, very soon, you're going to be in the most incredible hug ever. Like, I'm sending you now an energetic hug because you so deserve it. You're such a light, such a beautiful person. So I appreciate you. And of course, right now as well, and as Kyle mentioned, take your time. There's no point rushing. You don't have to perform or do, just allow yourself to be in the presence of us, but also allow yourself to be with the surroundings where you are, maybe journal after towards, you know, understand as well that the tools that Kyle has shared, you can use these tools anytime, right? You don't need a Sunday Breathe Together. This is why we're doing this work so you can understand the power of the breath, of reconnecting to the body, to the somatics, and to all of the energy that we have in this beautiful container of ours that we are in, in this lifetime. So, and that tool, by all means you can use even the one that Kyle introduced at the very end, you can use that to have that deeper reconnection. And I definitely, the rubbing of the belly is something for a person that has been going through a lot of body dysmorphia and self-hatred towards my body and the belly, even when you said about the six-pack abs and the belly. And so my breath has helped me so much with reconnecting to the body, the physical body. And really understanding as well that I have this precious, beautiful belly, the diaphragm and this entire area, the core. It's such a beautiful belly, such a beautiful belly of mine. So I'm just gonna keep on massaging it and keep on just rubbing it because, hey, we've been given all these weird ideas conditioning from the programs that a belly should be a certain way, but this is our precious body container. So I appreciate you, Kyle, again. Truly thank you. So I'm going to just read out a couple of the comments that we have in the chat. So whoever is watching the replay, remember as well, the replays are available with high quality in the Somobreathe app. And Monica, this is the perfect segment for you to bring the link gently into the chat. So if anyone does not have the app, okay, you can download the app because remember as well that all the instructors that you see during the Sunday Breathe Together are also instructors that are guiding longer journeys in the Somabreathe app. So Monday Breathe Together, Friday Breathe Together, usually around 10:00 AM Eastern time or 12:00 PM Eastern time, but also there's a Wednesday Move Together and there's plenty of replays but also live sessions that Kyle has guided through Qigong and the magic of movement and the magic of breath. And this week, for example, just so you know, on Wednesday it is Claudia Solis with tribal dancing, and I am guiding a breathwork journey on Friday. But again, the Sunday Breathe togethers, treat them like a little, like a tapas, okay? I'm in Barcelona, okay? So treat them like a tapas, like an introduction, like welcome to our world. And then the app will allow you to go through different bigger, longer journeys. And then of course connect as well, 'cause there's smaller groups coming to the live sessions. So right now we've got, we had 80 people, the Sunday Breathe togethers are obviously obviously a big community event, but during the app sessions, you know, we get to know each other so well. Like Tammy, I know you, you know, Tommy, I know you. Like, it's, it's such a beautiful vibe as well when we see the same people then during the Sunday Breathe Together and the Monday, Friday, Wednesday Breathe Together. And there's so many breathwork challenges and, uh, uh, courses in the app as well. So please make sure you look into, into the app. Um, so Rachel mentions, Kyle, this was amazing. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You. Um, Dean says, thanks, Kyle. Kyle, thank you so much, absolutely amazing, so beautiful. Thank you, that was very beautiful, I needed that. So happy, you're so happy to see you all again. Um, beautiful, loved it, calm and peaceful. And Emma Jensen mentions, so beautiful and incredible. Uh, thank you so much, Kyle, I love this breathwork so much, so profound and so powerful. What a magical session You're amazing, Kyle. Thank you for your transmission. And of course, on YouTube, we have also Phyllis saying thank you. And Cynthia is on YouTube usually, as she's in the Zoom room. Hello, everyone. And she mentions also, thank you, Kyle. So important to reconnect with the body. Truly a soma— a somatic therapy session. I do some tai chi. And Cynthia also mentions on YouTube, Kyle mentioned Mantak Chi. I had a friend who studied with Mantak Chi, fascinating knowledge. And this is, this is the beauty of doing these sessions. And we have then Leanne, always amazing. Thank you, Kyle, very grounding and brings a peaceful feeling. And of course, I'm going to ask you now, how are you all feeling? Remember that first question that I asked, level of vibrational energy? How are you feeling right now after such a session? Be very honest. Tune into the body. How are you feeling right now on a scale from 1 to 11? 10, 11. Marcy, 2, loads of pain. Acknowledging. Jana, 11, 11. Perfect. Now 11, 9, Thank you, Kyle and Piotr. It was my honor to host this from Barcelona. Thank you all. A 10 and 8 and 8 and 11. Beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing. And we have Lynette. Thanks, Kyle. Great to see you live. Um, amazing. Let me just make sure as well if I have— I see you, Tammy. You have your hand up, and of course we're going to be, um, unmuting you, Tammy, so you can share your experience, your journey with Kyle and with the tribe. I'm just looking at— thank you, Kyle, I love your voice. This is the one that I wanted to read out as well. And again, I'm reading these out because in the replays you will not see the chat box. So this is again something that if you're watching this as replay, hello, join our live sessions. Thank you, Kyle, love your voice. Love this as it aligns with my qigong and pranic healing practices. So very grounding, energizing, and centering. Really helps me align my body, mind, and soul. From Marie. Thank you so much for that comment, Marie. So, Tammy, I see you have your hand up. Yes, and I'm gonna unmute you now. And the spotlight is on Kyle and on you, Tammy. Hold on, hold on, you're still muted. Okay, you're unmuted now. Yes, we can.
Good, okay. Hi, thank you. Hi, Pieter, hi, Kyle, thank you so much. I have a question, but before I wanted to say that I felt this Orbit when I did intermittent hypoxia, when I held my breath after exhalation, was speeding up by itself. Makes sense, no? That was one thing I wanted to say, let me ask, and Our exilure is the dantian, is the same way?
I'm sorry, say that last part again.
You use the word our exilure, that's the dantian, is the same?
I'm not sure what you mean by the first word, but the lower dantian in general is the space that's below the navel in the lower abdomen. So that was what we're trying to focus on for the majority of that practice.
Yes.
Yeah. And you use the word in English that I don't know, so I wanted to make sure that I understood.
I might have said like lower field, lower abdomen, different saying.
That was not a word.
Oh, elixir.
Elixir.
Okay.
So, so yeah, the elixir itself is something different.
The elixir is basically when we form our energy and our attention into a sphere.
So the sphere itself is— it's like a condensed, concentrated type of energy. That is the elixir. And when it's holding, you know, that special vibration, you know, our secret smile, our inner smile, you know, that's our connection to that which is higher, right?
The connection to the higher self.
And so when we condense that into a sphere, that's what they term like the elixir. And it's because they use metaphors in Taoist inner alchemy. Me to kind of connect with these different ideas.
And that's what you ask us to put in our chest, right?
So we, we, we start off by connecting with the smile and then condensing that smiling energy into a sphere, and that's what forms the elixir. And then from there, the rest of the process is learning how to make the elixir more tangible, more real, more crystallized, more embodied, rather than just something that's in our imagination.
And I can send it to different parts of my body, my body, if I want to heal?
Absolutely.
So I take the elixir for that? Okay.
Yeah, you got it. So that's basically what they did.
And so the—
traditionally they could, they could send it to the different organs, so they would like circulate it through the different organs. Or to make it more powerful, they run it through this orbit, right? And that's what creates this opening of the microcosmic orbit. So what— when you said it went faster and faster, uh, when you you're holding your breath, it's because you charged it up, right? And when you let go and you hold the breath, the effects start to take place. And so that's what I was trying to say in the beginning, where it's, it's a process, it's a gradual awakening. So you might feel it, you know, but that's just like the first level of it. And there's so many different levels and it goes so in depth that that's far beyond what we have time to go into. Um, but this is like the very first introduction into that.
So the elixir stays on the orbit and it moves like a pearl on a string, like the elixir itself, the point is to get it move with the orbit, or this is—
No, so, so it's again, this is like, it gets like very complex. These are, a lot of them are metaphors, but you are trying to basically condense your energy to a it's palpable. So once the microcosmic orbit actually opens, it's not like that sphere, uh, you don't do it anymore. It's not something that you're doing, it's something that's automatically happening that over time. And so as you awaken it, it's flowing automatically without you doing anything. So it's a byproduct of practice, but during the practice itself, to help get there, we do take the sphere and we move it, you know, with our intention. And so I don't know if that made any sense, but—
It made sense, yeah. And when I want to use it with Soma on a daily basis of my practice, I can just use it, you know, as I do the tongue and the breathe in and out, and just to use that metaphor, the dantian and all that, I can Just do it the way you did it today so I get a boost of the Soma.
Yeah, exactly. So this is just one type of intention setting that you can bring into a Soma Breath session, and you can use that for your session. So you can, if you want it guided like I did here, you can listen to the replay, or if you want to do like an unguided version where you just have the breathing sounds, you can still do the same exact thing, but you're kind of guiding the process. So yeah, it's another tool that you can kind of bring into your practice if you want.
Yeah, and thank you very much for introducing this because I've been, I'm a student of Mantik Chia and I didn't, it always looks so complicated to me that I didn't even enter this exercise. So today you opened the door for me to go to this exercise. Thank you so much and thank you, Piotr.
Beautiful. Thank you so much. I appreciate you.
Thank you, Tammy, as always. Thank you. It's so good, so great to see you as well. And I love your questions because they're really in-depth and going a little bit deeper beyond just the journey itself. So thank you, Tammy, so much for being with us. Many blessings your way. Thank you. So we— I'm just going to read out just one more thing. Um, can the recording I don't know, I wasn't planning to read this one out, but I just saw it in the chat. Can the recording be accessed somewhere? Somewhere, please share. It is in the app. And as I mentioned, of course, I'm going to be very honest here. And you might hear some background sounds, children playing, playfulness, Barcelona welcoming all of it, all the sounds, inviting them into this hosting. So this is obviously the Sunday Meetup, it is on YouTube, right? So the replays are staying on YouTube. YouTube as well for a while. The only thing is the quality and of course all the disruptions of YouTube might be happening as well. Maybe children in the background screaming, mommy, I'm not the mommy, but it's okay. No, you know, but in the app, all of the tracks also you're possible to actually have a download version. So if you're offline and I say this often because I use this on the plane, I use this on the plane when I'm on a 3-hour trip. And then I have access to all my Summer Breath app sessions because they're downloadable to the app. So then if I'm, you know, there's no Wi-Fi on the plane, no internet, I can just go to any of the sessions that are downloaded and do the session. So how amazing is that? And that's kind of how I always, because I love to experience all the different teachers and guides like Kyle, you know, like David, like of course Niraj Naik, like all the other incredible Soma Breath instructors, advanced transformational coaches, and masters, because it's great to just see the different flows, the different ways of guiding people. Because we truly, as a Soma Breath community and guides, we've tapped into our gifts. So you, Tammy, you have your gifts. You know, all the other instructors, all of us have gifts. And when you start bringing Soma Breath with your gifts to the world, you're unstoppable. Like, I mean this. Everyone has gifts and talents, and if you bring sombra with your gifts to the world, you'll start seeing how beautiful of a ripple effect it has on yourself, your vibration, and then on the world. And that's all that we're all about— level of vibration, energy— so that we can still, you know, Kyle can be himself, I can be myself. There is no guru in this organization. There's nobody telling me, no, don't do this. And this is so powerful. And of course, whoever is still with us on this call, you know, I always like to mention this. It's not really a, you know, a sales tactic. It's more of an invitation really into our world because if you have come to our Sunday Breathe Togethers and there's so many of you still here and so many of you new, there's so many courses on the Summer Breath website, which has been revamped as well. So have a look at the website, but there's also a course called the 21-Day Awakening Journey, which is certified, which has been studied and awarded through Cambridge University University, have a look through that course because the 21-Day Awakening Journey is a beautiful journey into the inner world and you will receive so much clarity maybe on your mission, your purpose, maybe something will become just lighter for you because we've all been carrying heavy backpacks of stories, thoughts, conditioning and all of that. And the 21-Day Journey of Awakening Journey that Monica just put into the chat, click on it. If you click on it, You can just read through it. Again, not trying to sell you this. Just go, again, Tammy says, amazing course. And so many of you have done the 21-Day Awakening. So many have you been repeating the 21-Day Awakening. I'm just gonna share really quickly as well. We're nearly done, we're nearly done. This is the group that we had today, all somies, okay? All somies, okay? Brand new soma instructors from all around the world coming to Barcelona. You also see here the incredible female voice behind all the tracks. Julia Blanca was with us, Claudia Solis, and myself. We were guiding people practicing, and just like, I mean, even the love from this picture, it's just like, I mean, you can see so much joy in this picture. So I just wanted to share that because there's more and more retreats. Well, not more and more, that's a bit of a, sorry, that's not true. If there is a retreat showing up near you, or you're planning to go for a retreat My advice is to not wait too long and just book your place at a retreat. They are life-transforming. They have helped me 4 years ago when I went to the first Ibiza retreat as a participant to really embody, can I reconnect to my body and understand that this life is not a rehearsal. Okay, it's not. You just have this one life, so stop pretending that you're gonna have suddenly, you know, a different identity, or no, different body, etc. No, embracing all that you are right now in this body of yours and using all the past, all the wisdom to come in. And the Somabrit retreats are life-changing, life-transforming. And there's so many testimonials that you can watch and they're all true. If you don't believe them, you just have to come to retreat, okay? And just experience for yourself. And if you will have a testimonial, nah, nah, that was, ah, actually I want to I want to see that testimonial, and I want to meet you in person to give you a hug and say like, what's up, what's up? Because we have now an incredible summer retreat happening in Austria with the one and only Niraj Naik and amazing instructors from the 6th to the 11th of August in the Austrian Alps in Saalbach, the Awakening Retreat. And this is for everyone, okay? But it's a very small group of people that come together And very important note that is on the website, this is not wellness tourism. I love that. Okay, we are going into physiology, trauma load, inner alignments. We're gonna have cold plunges, saunas, um, breathworks, of course, music, dancing, and having fun and enjoying life and releasing seriousness. Okay, because I think nowadays, and this has been something that I really, you know, bring now to the work that I do, and I think Kyle and all of us really do as well, to just step out of being serious and just enjoy and be playful and curious about life itself and yourself in this life, right? It's not like we're too serious. So let's just bring a bit more of a high vibe tribe, high vibe tribe, and let's just really enjoy. This, this incredible, um, journey, this adventure called life. Yeah, I see people nodding their heads. Yeah, exactly. Why so serious? Why so serious? Okey-doke. Monica in the background, as always, the amazing customer support. If you've got any questions, support@soma.com. Go to our website soma.com and have a look at the 21-Day Awakening. Have a look at the retreats that are happening in Austria because there's to the advanced instructor training, and there is an instructor training retreat, the one that we've just done in Barcelona. For now, we don't have a new date yet, but there's gonna be a London one, and that is happening in June, okay? So if you're still undecided, and you'll be in great hands of Nigel, Brooke, and they will be guiding you and allowing you to practice as well in real life. So this is such a powerful way to connect.
Okay.
I am still on the high vibe plate. I love this community, although I know I should be already going to sleep probably after 2 days of so much breathwork training and breathing so much. We're breathing so much in these sessions. Like, I mean, seriously, inhaling for 2, out for 4. But it still is for me like my life's purpose, life mission. So Kyle, any final words before we depart?
Yeah, I mean, I'll just say one, thank you for hosting this. Always appreciate your energy always able to, you know, motivate the crowd.
I love that.
I always appreciate your, your incredible words. I appreciate everybody's feedback here, all the love that we've been sharing here.
It's always, always a pleasure.
So yeah, just don't underestimate the secret smile. And yeah, hopefully this is a good tool that you can bring into your own practice. And if you want to go deeper with me, feel free to reach out. Join one of the 21-day journeys. I like to guide that personally myself. So if you want to join me on one of those or any other one-on-one calls, we can go deeper into this type of inner alchemy. So, and like you said, I also do the Move Together Wednesdays periodically. So once per month, we like to combine somabreath with qigong. So that's kind That's kind of my thing is combining Soma with inner alchemy, Taoist arts, energy cultivation, and stuff like that.
So again, huge thanks to everyone. Huge thanks to the Soma team, Monica and Piotr, for helping make this happen.
Yes, everyone, you heard this correctly. Kyle is guiding the 21-day awakening journeys. Okay, so this is your time. If you love this session, hop onto that link and just go and just truly trust the process. Lean into the unknown and just enjoy the wave, enjoy the ride, enjoy consciousness, enjoy awareness. Kyle, my brother from another motherfucker, but definitely soul connection. Love you loads. May you be blessed. Thank you so much for sharing your love as well, your guidance, and everyone else in this community. So, my Brett, have an amazing, fantastic Sunday, or any other day when you're watching this. We love you so much. All the best, everyone. Bye-bye.
