Welcome, welcome, welcome tribe. Welcome. Beautiful community. Sunday Breath together. We are here breathing together, vibing together, aligning ourselves with the bread. Thank you all for joining. Thank you all for joining and for also watching the intro. We're always giving everyone another five minutes to join to share the link and to spread the message to join us during this Sunday Breathe Together event. Soma Breath Community coming together and breathing together. Today we have a very special Soma Breath Master transformational coach with us. A friend, a brother, Kyle will be with us and he will be guiding us through a session called a breadth.
Within.
The breath, A breath within the breath. And of course I will get him to explain not only why he chose this session, what that actually means for him and how he tunes in to his breath and through his practices, but also I want you to really connect with your own breath right now before we even start. Maybe it's the morning time, the afternoon time, the evening time, wherever you're watching from. And also please type into the chat where you're dialing, where are you tuning in from? Some of you already have started that and I love it. So thank you all so much for letting us know where you're tuning in from. But just connect just for a moment. Just let's settle into the body. Let's arrive in the body. Let's be in the body. So become aware of your own inhalation and become aware of your own exhalation without manipulating anything, without changing anything. Just become aware.
Just become aware.
Allowing any distractions to be part of the journey of awareness.
In today's session, we're going to be exploring that breath within the breath. And Kyle will be our guide. Kite. Kyle will be our friend on this journey to connect to our breath. So as you can feel and sense that inhale and then exhale, come back to this present state. And.
Let'S welcome everyone from different parts of the world. We have UK in the house. Manchester. Welcome. We have New York, we have Louisiana. We have Germany, we have Philadelphia. We have France.
Beautiful community joining. We have Malta, we have Idaho. We have France, Texas, Seattle, Norway. Amazing. Beautiful to see you all. Canada again. United States. Phenomenal. Phenomenal. Let's spread the word. Let's spread the message for us all to breathe together and be that ripple effect and change the world. Breath by breadth, breadth by breadth. Each breadth matters. And coming together for these community events truly makes the world vibrates at a higher frequency. And that's exactly what we all need throughout these times.
And of course, not only knowing where you're dialing in from. But also let us all know how you're feeling right now because so much breath is all about how you're feeling, how you, how can you tap into the feeling, the energy, the emotional state that you're in right now from a scale. On a scale from 1 to 10, one being feeling a little bit, a little bit like I need this session, or 10, I'm feeling ecstatic, amazing and phenomenal. So let us all know how you're feeling from 1 to 10. And I'll be admitting more people are joining. Fantastic. Also, if you're watching this on YouTube, join our Zoom room. We've got six. Katie, we've got Toba and eight. We've got Tommy in eight. Andrea and eight. Becky.
Seven.
We've got a nine. Lee is a seven.
We've got more people joining right now as I am admitting. And we have another eight. Another seven. Phenomenal. It's all about raising that vibration because we're all working with vibration. We are beings that are vibrating. So if you're vibrating right now, on a scale of, from a scale of 1 to 10, on a 6 or 7, we want to bring that vibration up to a higher number. And we hope and we also know that this session, this guided session like Kyle, will bring you to a higher state. We're going to bring that level of frequency, that vibration up higher. Make sure everyone's muted. Hi, Dina, how are you? So nice to see you with us. And afterwards, I'm going to ask you again how you're feeling on that scale from 1 to 10. And afterwards I will mention to you all about the five day Soma Bread Breathwork Challenge that starts on the 21st of January until the 25th of January. You can still register. Got one day left and you have then access through the app to the sessions. There'll be no replays of these. This is a 2025 session. 2025 year breathwork challenge. So it's going to be something that you really want to tap in to and really feel how you can bring breathwork into your everyday life and feel how you can work with that challenge for you, raising your vibration every single day. But I'm going to mention more about the five day Breathwork challenge after. After the session. Kyle, Kyle, Kyle. My friend, Soma, Brett, master transformational coach. Kyle is in the house. I'm gonna unmute you.
There you go. The floor is yours.
Thank you, my brother. Thank you for that amazing introduction. Hello, everyone. Aho. Namaste and shalom. It Is a pleasure to be back here to guide the Soma Breathe together Sunday with you all. As you may or may not know, I am one of Soma Breath's master instructors and transformational coaches. And yeah, one of my specialties, my business basically in my kind of brand that I bring with Soma Breath, is Soma alchemy. So a lot of my sessions are themed in a kind of alchemical lens. But I also teach qigong. So I like to combine Soma Breath with internal alchemy, qigong, energy work, sometimes a little bit of shamanism. And so today what we're going to be doing is focusing on, you could call it like qigong. I called this session the breath within the breath. So what does that mean exactly? Well, when we think about what we're doing here in Soma Breath and a lot of breath work exercises, Soma breath especially comes from the tradition of pranayama, Pranayama being the breathing practices coming out of yoga. But pranayama, if you kind of break down what that means, the prana isn't just breath, it's the life force energy. And then yama means to regulate or to control or to master. And so when we kind of break that down, pranayama means mastering, regulating the life force energy, not just the breath, but we do that through the breath. So when we talk about the breath within the breath, what I'm talking about is the subtle breath. Actually it's the prana, the life force, the qi in qigong. And so that's really what we're aiming to really connect to in this practice. And it's something, if you've done Soma Breath, you've all felt, you might feel those tingling sensations, those vibrations, various movements of energy within the body. So we're going to be tuning in specifically to that aspect of this practice. And we're going to learn that.
We can learn how to sort of direct and influence that prana or that chi using our intention. So, you know, we usually have some sort of intention setting when we do the Soma Breath. The intention here is really just going to be to connect to that prana and learn how to direct it in various ways. So we'll be doing three rounds, but we're going to be, I'm going to be guiding you to specifically direct that life force energy in specific ways rather than trying to visualize or imagine something you might. I mean, the imagination is kind of this interesting term because it's like we usually associate it with visualization. But you could also say, well, the imagination has all of the other senses in it as well. So the main sense we're connecting to is the feeling. So we don't really want to visualize per se, but we want to connect to the feeling of this life force energy throughout this session.
So before we get into it, I just want to outline all of the safety precautions here. So for those who are new, just know that the rhythmical breathing aspect of somal breath is safe for everybody. However, there are some contraindications for the breath retention. So those include if you have any severe critical diseases or infections, especially if it impairs your ability to breathe, if you have any organ failure or a late stage terminal illness, if you have any heart issues, such as uncontrolled hypertension or high blood pressure, if you have a pacemaker or a heart arrhythmia, if you are pregnant or if you have epilepsy, please do not participate in the breath retentions. You can still do this by doing the rhythmical breathing because that is safe for everybody.
There are also other safety precautions. So again, if you take this technique beyond today's session, please don't ever practice this while you're driving. If you are in water. And we also recommend not doing this on a full stomach or if you have a flu or a fever. So just be aware of that. We can be extra safe here during the breath retentions by tucking the chin into the neck. That's going to help to seal off the energy in the body and also prevent any excess energy or blood or cerebral spinal fluid from rushing up into the head at once. So be aware of that. And also if you have a hernia, just again, be very careful. You don't want to be forcing at all. And maybe don't pull up on the pelvic floor. So those are all the safety precautions and I will just quickly cover the technique itself. So soma breath again, we have a couple of different phases. We are going to be starting with an intention setting. It's going to be more kind of into just breath awareness. We're not going to really be a whole lot of visualizing here, but after the intention, we're going to move into rhythmical breathing. When we do rhythmical breathing, it's always in through the nose and out through the mouth. You're going to hear the rhythm and the count within the music. So all you need to do is synchronize your breathing with the the music. After a few minutes of that rhythmical breathing, we then enter into the breath retention out on the exhale. Yogis call this the Bhayakumbaka. We're going to exhale our air out completely, hold the breath at the bottom of the exhale. And as you're doing this, you can extend this exhale retention by taking a couple of booster breaths. So if you feel that urge to breathe really building up inside, you can override that urge or feed that urge with a little booster breath. Just a quick sip and then back out very gently and just going right back into the breath retention. And after about a minute, maybe two minutes of holding the breath out on the exhale, we're then going to hold the breath on the top of the inhale. So we'll inhale fully in through the nose and we'll hold to help bring that energy back into the body, help to reoxygenate the body. Holding the breath at the top for about 30 seconds, and then we release with a sigh and we just return to normal breathing for a moment. So we're going to be doing three rounds here together. And yeah, I'm excited to be with you.
So let's just make sure that we are in a safe position. I recommend doing this sitting on the floor. If you prefer to sit in a chair, it's okay, but we just need to be very careful and mindful.
We're not going to go too deep in here. It's going to be more just kind of connecting to the energy itself. So just be aware and make sure that you are in a safe position as we get ready to enter into our session here.
So we're just going to take a moment to close our eyes.
Straighten our spine.
Start off just by bringing our awareness to our body.
Just observing and feeling.
Throughout this practice. We want to take the tongue, touch it to the roof of the mouth, maybe let it rest just behind their front teeth.
Then just relax the jaw.
The tongue. And qigong acts like a switch. And when we press it to the roof of the mouth or just touch it, this sort of opens up this circuit within the body.
Helps the flow of energy.
Just take a moment to notice.
Your breath, bringing your awareness, your attention to your body that's breathing.
Without changing it, just noticing how the breath is flowing.
And when I give those instructions, when I say bring your awareness to your breath.
What does that mean? What is, what is your first.
Concept of that? Where does your mind go? When I say bring your awareness to your breath.
Do you start to think about your nostrils?
You start to become aware of your chest inflating and deflating?
Just think about that for a moment.
I want you to just start to now focus on your nose.
Becoming aware of the air that's flowing in through your nostrils.
Again, not consciously breathing just yet, just being aware of the air that's flowing in automatically and flowing out.
Now I want you to start to follow that breath. Follow the air as it flows in.
Air flows in through the nostrils, down into the lungs and your chest.
Your chest inflates a little bit.
And.
When you exhale, the chest deflates. That air flows back out.
That air is carrying the oxygen.
Amongst other gases.
Again, we're not consciously breathing yet. We're just being aware.
Following the air as it flows in.
And flows back out.
Now I want you to place your hands on your chest.
Just feeling your body breathe again, following the air as it flows in naturally. Might even feel a movement of the chest.
And then feel it as the air flows back out automatically.
This process is always happening throughout our life. Our body automatically breathes.
The breath is the bridge between the conscious and the unconscious, the mind and the body.
Now I want you to drop your hands.
Covering the navel.
And again, the breath can be unconscious or it can be conscious. So we're going to start to now consciously breathe.
As you breathe, you're going to try to bring that air as deep and low as you can.
So when we breathe in, we push down and out on the diaphragm, that muscle that's in the center of our torso. The diaphragm expands down and out like a balloon as we breathe in.
And as we exhale, that diaphragm naturally contracts with no force. We just release the pressure.
As we consciously breathe, or even have our awareness on our breath. The mind naturally quiets down.
Because the breath again, is that bridge.
It's a way that we can take control, take a hold of the mind and the thoughts.
Each conscious breath.
Gets a little bit deeper. And we push down and out as we breathe in.
Bringing the air into the lower L lobes of the lungs.
And then we release. That pressure naturally deflates.
Now, this is the physical breath here.
Consciously drawing in the air.
As the breath flows into the lungs, the diaphragm expands.
And we release.
This is the physical breath.
But within.
This physical breath is a subtle breath. There's a subtle process going on within this.
On a deeper level than just that physical body.
So we're going to release this process for now.
And with your eyes still closed, I just want you to now bring your awareness to the room around you. Expand your senses, especially your sense of feeling. Just try to feel the Room around you.
This room most likely has four corners.
Four wall.
Floor and a ceiling.
It's a much larger space than just your physical body.
So just feel the space around you.
Might even sense a flow of energy.
Fuzz.
Maybe some subtle tingling sensations.
Stay focused with this sensation.
The space around you.
This sea of energy that we find ourselves in.
Because the physical world is just energy.
Varying densities and degrees.
It's all energy.
This prana, this chi, this life force, permeates the entire universe.
As we get ready to breathe in a rhythm.
We'Re going to start to draw in the chi, the energy all around us into our body.
Exhaling to begin.
And breathing in, two, three, four and out.
Two, three, four.
In, two, three, four and out, two, three. Start to draw in that energy through the pores of your skin.
Drawing it in like a vacuum. As you breathe in, feel a contraction.
And as you breathe out, you feel an expansion.
One, two, three, four.
Two, three, four.
Two, three, four.
In through the nose, two, three, four. Out through the mouth.
Three, four. In, two, three, four. Out.
Three, four. In, two, three, four. Out, two.
Air is flowing in through the lungs and back out.
We are not focused on the air, we are focused on the energy.
Feel the energy. Energy being pulled in through every pore of the body and being released back out.
Feeling the edges of our skin.
Feeling the pores contract as we breathe in.
And expand as we breathe out.
Breathe in, pull in, breathe out, expand.
Sam.
Identifying with the energy.
Not the physical body.
Energy pulls in like a vacuum.
And then expands back out to the room around you.
We shift our identity into our energy body.
Feel how full far you can expand out on the exhale out into the room around you.
How far you can expand your consciousness, your awareness.
In.
And out.
As we get ready to hold the breath.
One last breath here fully in.
Drawing that energy all the way into the body.
And then exhale completely.
Release all of the air and holding the breath.
And again, just expanding your awareness outside of the physical body, out into the room around you.
Just feeling and witnessing.
Surrendering control.
Relaxing.
As the oxygen levels drop, you might feel an urge to breathe building up inside. That urge becomes too much. Remember the booster breath. Quick sip of air, in and out, returning into the body for a moment and then exhaling back out and expanding.
As far out as you can.
We are not just the physical body, we are energy.
J.
And on this next urge, when it becomes too much, be going past a little bit further into the discomfort. And whenever you need to, you're going to take a Nice deep breath fully in.
And hold.
Contract the muscles, bringing that energy back into the physical body.
Just a gentle contraction here. Not too much force.
And then whenever you need to release, just let it go with the tone or a sigh.
Take a moment to relax again into your normal breathing, just feeling the energy.
Sam.
Energy flows where the mind goes. So when we connect and focus on the energy itself.
We awaken it, we harness it and concentrate it.
We connect to a deeper part of ourselves. More primary core essence.
Again, just starting to sense the skin, the outer outline of your body.
Feeling any movements of air, tingling sensations.
Changes in temperature as we get ready to breathe in a rhythm.
Breathing in, 2, 3, 4 and out.
2, 3, 4.
In, 2, 3, 4, and out.
2, 3, four.
Energy contracts and pulls in as we inhale.
And expands out as we exhale.
4 in, 2, 3, 4. Out, 2, 3, 4.
Qi flows where the mind goes.
So we're gonna anchor our mind and our awareness now in the lower belly.
The belly is expanding as we breathe in.
And contracting as we breathe out.
But again, we are identifying with the energy, not the physical body.
So when we breathe in, the energy contracts and pulls in.
And the energy expands out as we exhale, doing the opposite of what the physical body is doing.
4, 2, 3, 4.
As we start to harness and concentrate this life force.
You can feel it shape into a sphere or a pearl.
Feeling the sphere of energy contract and pull in on the inhale and expand out around the physical body. On the exhale in, contract into the lower belly. Exhale, expand out around in two, Pull in three, four. Out to expand.
Four, in, two, three.
Shifting your identity deeper into this energy body.
1, 2, 3, 4. 2, 3, 4.
Inhale to contract.
Exhale, expand.
As we connect deeper into the prana, the chi.
Releasing the physical body.
Inhale, pull in.
Exhale, expand.
Shaping this energy into a sphere.
Allowing the outer breath to become more subtle.
Not worried about the volume of air.
Just the rhythm, the movement of the energy.
Contracting, pulling in.
And expanding.
As we get ready to hold the breath.
One last breath, now fully in.
Drawing back into the physical body for a moment and then releasing.
All of the air. Just surrendering.
Relaxing.
Into the spirit, the etheric life force. Energy.
Just feeling.
Witnessing.
We are more than our physical body.
We are energy.
Sam.
Feeling the tingling, the vibrations, the movements, the fluctuation.
Any changes in air pressure, changes in temperature.
Sa.
The more relaxed you are, the more you can feel the energy, the prana.
On this next urge, relaxing into the discomfort until it becomes too much for. For you.
You can no longer take it. You're going to take a nice deep inhale, fully in.
Hold.
And again contracting as you bring that energy back into the physical body.
Just a gentle contraction, not too much force.
Maybe pulling up gently, gently on the pelvic floor, tucking the chin gently into the neck.
Holding for as long as is comfortable here. And then when you need to release, let it go with a tone.
And then relax. Return to your normal breathing.
Feeling the prana, the energy.
For our third and final round, we're just going to bring again this feeling into a sphere in the lower abdomen.
Concentrating this energy in this prana with our intention and our awareness into a ball of energy. Sitting in the lower abdomen.
Tip of the tongue, gently touching the front teeth, just behind the front teeth.
Exhale.
Dropping that ball of energy to the pelvic floor and breathing it in, drawing it up the spine.
And exhale, bringing it down the front of the body. Inhale, pulling up.
Exhale, bringing it back down.
You are the master of your prana, your energy.
As you breathe in, you draw the energy up the spine, up into the brain. As you exhale, you bring it back down.
Guiding this energy through and around the body.
And out.
In energy rises.
Out, energy falls.
Allow the energy to move the body.
Back as you inhale.
2, 3, 4.
Be gently shifting forward as you exhale.
4. In, 2, 3, 4. Out, 2, 3.
Moving this energy in, 2, 3, 4.
2, 3, 4. In, 4, 3, 4.
As you circulate this energy, you refine it.
Refining your attention, your focus.
Sam.
Allowing it to fall. This time we're going to bringing it up the central core of the body. Bringing it up all the way up to the crown, letting it expand all around the body, the toroidal field. Inhale, energy up the core. Exhale around the body like a fountain.
Drawing it up. Exhale, spreading it out and around.
Sphere of energy contracts into a. A point, bringing it up and expands all around the body as you bring it out, in and up.
Out and around.
In.
One last breath. Here, fully in.
And then foy.
Exhaling, completely.
Holding the breath as you surrender. Surrender.
Into the feeling of energy, into the life force.
Letting go of all governing or control.
Releasing into feeling.
We are more than our physical body.
We are the life force, the energy.
We are energy.
We are energy.
And everything is energy.
Sam.
And whenever you need to.
We'Re gonna take the final breath in. All the way in, fully in.
And hold and contract.
Again. Crystallizing, coax, regulating back into the physical body.
Slight flex without too much force.
Tucking the Chin slightly into the neck slightly pulling up on the pelvic floor.
As you come back into your physical body.
And whenever you need to release.
Let it go with the tone.
As we close down this session here today, just bring your hands back to your chest.
Connecting back with the physical breath.
Back the physical body.
Maybe wiggling the toes and the fingers.
Stretching out your body.
And whenever you're ready.
Coming back into the sense world around you.
Thank you so much, Kyle.
Thank you so much for your guidance. The music choices, the words that you used, it was just so beautiful. Thank you. Truly. From my heart, from my breath to your breath.
We are all breath for all energy. And it's so beautiful to be reminded of that as often as possible. We can be just reminded that everything is energy. You can truly see the abundance and the magnificence of it all as we are it all in all with all.
Beautiful community. Please feel free to use the chat as you already are doing.
And share with us. Share with Kyle, share with every other participant as well how you're feeling right now, what this journey brought to you and for you, and how you are connected with your breath right now. And I'm just going to read out a couple of messages and of course in a moment I'll ask if there's anyone that would like to share life, to be able to spend some time with us here and be able to voice as well their experience. It's so important to voice it, but also to stay in this energy that you're in right now. Because I always believe this and I know that Kyle has exactly the same way of, of thinking about this and feeling it as well. The journey itself, the breathwork itself, the soma breath that you've just experienced, that it's not over.
This is.
This could be either your beginning or just a part of your chapter. And whatever you're going to be experiencing afterwards, throughout your day, you will see the impact that this breathwork experience, this entire journey has.
On your life on the way you appreciate, accept and acknowledge everything around you and yourself. Am I right, Kyle?
Absolutely. Yeah, I totally agree with you. And integration, yeah, is a super important, you know, we. We do a breathwork session and we experience something great, but then how do we bring that back into our life? That's some, you know, some, for some people can be difficult. But just kind of remembering the magic that this physical body and this life has to offer is also just as important as connecting to the energy.
Yes, absolutely. So let me just read out a couple of the comments from the chat box. I feel the light sky Angel. Evan is thanking you. That was amazing. From B. Thank you.
This was beautiful. Thank you so much. From Heike. Wow. Amazing. Thank you, Kyle. So yummy. Thank you. From Stacy. Thank you, Stacy. We have another. Thank you. Beautiful, beautiful line and understanding of pranayama and toric field of energy from Simone. Thank you, Simona. Beautiful. Thank you so much. Thank you, Kyle. That was beautiful. I feel amazing. Thanks, Kyle. Spot on as always. I love when people return and. And these journeys are so phenomenal because we've been doing the Sunday Breed Together community events for years now. Right. And every time you show up, and you might be showing up for the same instructor, for the same facilitator, but the journey will be different because you're also going to be in a different energetic state. You'll be in a. You know, everything will impact it by so many different astrological changes, by the alchemy, by all of it that is part of our existence. And then coming to these Sunday Breathe Together sessions and coming for another session with Kyle, for example, you are feeling that, where is the bread going to take me today? And the breath always guides us onto this path, onto this beautiful journey that is constantly unfolding. And. And this is exactly the power of energy and continuously tapping in, tapping into that energy and becoming more and more aware and becoming one with the energy that you are. Karen says thank you, Marissa, thank you so much for a deep and relaxing journey and coming to subtle breath. Wendy. Thank you, Kyle. I love every part of this. Your music was magical. So wonderful to be here, feeling peace, calm, and deep connection for this moment. Thank you, andy, so much. Evan 10. Evan is already giving the answer to the next question that I was gonna have. How are. How is everyone feeling? And I don't know if everyone. Everyone can see it. Behind you, Evan, there's literally fireworks. You did just Zoom activated some fireworks behind you. So as I mentioned your name and you were smiling, your screen went black. Yeah, yeah, your screen, Evan. Yes. And you had fireworks behind you. This is, this is the beauty of, you know, energetic connection with Zoom as well. So Zoom was like, yeah, I'm gonna. I'll. I'll.
I'll ask.
I'll ask, Evan, because I know you're gonna. You're gonna want to share as well your experience. Just bear with us for just another moment. But yeah, as Evan's mentioned in the chat, he's a tea. He's a 10 right now. So at the start of this entire journey, at the start of the Sunday Breathe Together, we always ask how you feel from a scale of 1 to 10. And so right now, after this journey, how are you feeling on that scale? From one to ten? So Evan is a ten. I feel good. Thank you so much. From Andrea. Becky, re energized and relaxed. Sandra. I feel happy. Thanks, Kyle. Malika, I was sorry to be late. Kyle, I was so happy to join and listen to your amazing session. Even if I take the session on the second round, it was very regenerating moment. Thank you, Malika. Dan, thank you. Thank you, Kyle. Beautiful. All the phenomenal comments since. Yeah. As well. Feeling so blissful. From Katie. Dina is 200. I love it. Yeah, just. Yeah, exactly. Just out of the box. We're not doing 1 to 10. 1 to 10 is just. Just a scale. You can go beyond that scale. But then you see another 10 from Dan. Barry, 10 went from 6 to 9. From Katie. Cynthia, 10. Carmen, 10. 9. Feel great. Wendy, attend from the UK. Wonderful for my evening practice tonight. We have Emily as well. I feel great. Thank you. That one was beautiful and peaceful. I like that energy. Raika said. Saw a lot of color when I held my breath. Phenomenal. Thank you so much, everyone for joining the YouTube channel for our live session and as well for joining in the Zoom room. So now, of course, the question that I have, who would like to join our mini life conversation right now where you can share your experiences? I do. See you, Dina. I see you, Dina. Yes. You've raised your hand. Is there anyone else that would like to raise their hand? I'm going to unmute you now in just a moment. And if there's anyone else that want to share as well, the experience, the practice, what breadth means to them, whatever you want to share. This is your moment to really express the feelings, the emotions, the energy and what it does and what it makes you feel right now. Dina, I'm going to just unmute you. The mic is yours.
Thank you.
We love you. Deanna, always a pleasure.
So much love. Thank you. Thank you so much.
We thank you for your support here. Yes, we see you. You're doing great work.
Thank you so much. Keep spreading. Keep spreading the love for Brett, for. For so much bread for this Sunday. Be together as you keep on showing up every Sunday. You're here with us. You're here with the community, so we thank you. You know, it's such a blessing to have you with us. Thank you so much.
Thank you.
Is there anyone else that would like to share their experience, their journey, or anything that you would like to share with Kyle? This is your moment.
Yes, Evan, I see you. And then I see Simon as well. I'm going to unmute you now.
Yeah, hi. But if anybody else wants to speak, go ahead, please. Yeah, I just had a question.
Go for it.
Go for it. Okay. For Kyle. Yeah.
As I progress in my own breath work, and I've learned, and there's been. There have been teachings where when you. When you're pulling up through drawing the breath, right?
I'm looking for you. I see you. There's that kind of thing where you draw from your lower, you know, sphincter, perineum, wherever, whatever you want to call it. And much like you're drawing liquid up through a straw, right? And moving that energy. That energy. And where I'm going with this is at one point in today's session, I don't know if this makes any sense, but you. You kind of went into, like, you're. You're inhaling, you're pulling through your pores. And my other thing is, I'm just kind of curious. I kind of know what my own experience was. But as you visualize that energy, instead of maybe thinking from, you know, drawing liquid up through a straw and pulling that energy up through, and into your higher. From your lower centers to your high. How is this different? And how do. How might you or others visualize that energy? For me, it's kind of like a. A ball, almost like a ball of fire. And is it. Is it helpful to attach colors to that? Does that make any sense?
Yeah. So this was kind of, you know, getting to, like what? Like the whole point or the underlying theme of the whole session was about, because we have a physical breath, and that only flows into the. The lungs and then flows Back out. So there is, like, a physical process that's going on. But besides the physical process, there's a subtle process that can also be tuned into. And that subtle process can be guided with our intentions. So if you focus on the feeling of energy rising up into the head and then falling back down, you're. You're kind of guiding the flow of this subtle energy. But you can also guide it in other ways. So in qigong, they have this technique called poor breathing, where you actually kind of feel the entire skin, all of the body pores, and you in. And again, you can say you imagine, but it's more of a feeling like energy is being sucked in through the pores, almost like a contraction. So this would be a different way to use your intention to feel a flow of subtle energy. So it really doesn't matter how you guide. It's more about.
You know, what you want to do with it. And there's, like, some schools of thought that say, you know, you don't want to guide it at all. You just want to observe how it's naturally flowing. And that's valid as well. But, you know, if you want to bring a little bit more intention into it, you can have many different types. So we started with the poor breathing, and then we started with concentrating it specifically down in the navel. And then we started to bring that up the spine and down the front to kind of circulate it more like we usually do with soma breath. They do this in Kundalini and Kriya yoga. Some of the Taoist schools do that. And then we brought it up through the core and then around the entire body. So there's different ways we can guide the flow of the subtle breath.
And then to answer your question, yeah, I mean, when you bring color into it, you're again, bringing. You're kind of giving it like a program or.
Another way you can look at this is if you think about when we move into the energy body or we move. Move into everything is energy, we start to move away from physical sensation and start to move into light. And there's different frequencies of light. And what is light. It can be refracted into many different colors. So you can start to connect more with the light or the higher vibrations of energy by imagining color. And then we all have different correspondences with different colors. So usually, you know, red kind of feels more like passionate and fiery. Usually like blue kind of feels more emotional and watery. So different colors. But, I mean, other people might have different associations with the different colors. And so this is the beauty about just connecting with color in general. You can start to connect more of the.
Sort of the emotional frequency or the underlying programs of that energy itself. If that makes sense.
Yeah, that does make sense. Yeah. Thanks. I mean, personally, I have these associations like white light and like orange or red like fire, blue like water, you know, elements, stuff like that. But absolutely. Yeah, yeah, that helps. But this was a nice adventure for me personally. Kind of an introduction to that poor breathing which I never knew anything about. So I was, I was kind. I was there. I was, I was there. It's just nice.
Yeah, that helped.
Yeah, I appreciate it. Yeah.
Awesome. Yeah, I appreciate the question.
Yeah.
Thank you so much, Evan. Thank you. Thank you.
And we have Simone as well. I'm gonna just unmute Simone. No. Yes.
There we go. There we go. Hello beautiful community summer peeps.
So I just started my level one training. But first I want to say what a beautiful understanding and explanation of the doric field and how to move that energy body, not the fountain head. So I definitely. I was seeing that gold fountain head, just bringing it in through the shushuna or this energy channel.
And.
It was such a beautiful integration with the pranayama and the understanding of energy fields. And we are energy, we are light and all that.
Now this, this was the beautiful heart touching part. You know, the spaciousness of our. The spaciousness of mind, the contentment feeling that is generated through that type of breathing. So that was truly and joyful and.
Yeah, deep, deep contentment in my heart.
Just definitely from a neuro science standpoint, reaching that calm state, that parasympathetic engagement of the rest and digest and that calm that is generated, you know, the slower tempo of everything, the tasting of that slower temple. Now, from a training standpoint, I will be in Denver next weekend. A couple of things that I've noticed, right, you know, doing the test and using the music and all that. So I'm going into the technical part with the question. I've noticed that the main part was a 4. 4 breath or 4 for the three rounds. Is that a choice? Are we supposed to engage with breath of fire like a two and two or you know, four and four and then the longer breath, you know, the one that is four and then exhale for six. The parasympathetic engagement. Because I'm a little confused. I have taken classes every day this week and I've noticed different instructors use a different routine. So whoever wants to answer that is like I've noticed different flaws and different type of breath with one common denominator of the breath holding, which I find very challenging. So it's okay for me to watch my own resistance and participating in acceptance instead. But this one in particular was mostly for each session. So that's the question.
Sure. Yeah. Well, one, thank you for the feedback. Really appreciate that. I'm really glad that you were able to connect with the theme and that you were finding a place of calm and serenity within the heart. I did my job then. And then to answer your question, yeah, we use many different rhythms in Soma Breath, and it's really up to the instructor based off of what rhythms they want to use, what kind of journey that they want to guide. Usually in level one, you focus on what's called the daily dose, which is a 2, 4 rhythm followed by a 4, 4 rhythm. So just like you said, the 2, 4 rhythm really focuses more on an extended exhale, which tends to kind of focus more on a relaxing, calming, parasympathetic state. So that's perfectly valid if that's what you want your intention to be. And, you know, we probably could have used that in this as well. I like the 44 rhythm because it, like, it's a very balancing rhythm. So we're inhaling for the same count that we're exhaling, which means that we're balancing the polarities of the body.
So when we exhale for longer, we kind of go more towards the yin polarity, which is great because most of us are already overactive as it is. So sometimes we need a little bit more yin and more calming to balance our overactive fire. Sympathetic. But if you want to get into, like, the flow of energy, you know, energy is kind of neutral. Right. So you. I like to do a four or a balanced rhythm to connect with that, to kind of depolarize. So that was the only reason why that I had chosen four, four. But you can choose whatever rhythm you want once you start to get further along in your instructor journey. Some people like the faster rhythm, which is great. That's really great for stimulating and moving a lot of energy. It also kind of goes into the sympathetic a little bit. So if that's your aim or if that's like the. What you want to do for the theme, that's great. You can choose that. And that's the beautiful part about Soma Breath is we can have many different types of intentions with this. We can have different rhythms.
I love that. Okay, awesome. So if the intention is to energize, we created his faster tempo. If the intention is about reaching that state of calm and bliss. Well then this is the way. Yes. In general pranayama. Yes. And.
You know, it's very interesting because in when, when you teach yoga and you practice mindfulness, mindfulness meditation, you go without music. But I find it that it's such a great anchor point to really stay present in the body and what is happening energetically. Even the sense of.
Engaging, parasympathetic and really getting into that calm state which is blissful. It's pure bliss. I love the idea of choice. I. I wasn't clear. You answered that question beautif beautifully. My mommy stay. I see the light in you. There is the light in all of us. Thank you. I appreciate you. Namaste.
I'll just, just say this actually in response to that. So in general, yeah, we do like to. We connect with like a two two or a one, one rhythm with energizing. But I something that I've been like really coming clear on and would I like to, to bring awareness to is this difference between stimulation and energy. Because it's all going to be energizing. We're going to be energizing a little bit with a 2, 4 rhythm as well. We're going to be energizing with a 4 4. And we are going to be energizing with a 2 2. But it's a different type. It's a stimulation versus more of like a relaxation. So if you want to stimulate, then yeah, that's great. Bring in the 2:2.
But again, kind of it's all energy. And the difference between like what we do here in Soma breath with the music is that we are able to connect with a rhythm. And when we synchronize with a perfect rhythm, that's something that's special beyond just doing a normal breathwork technique because you can do a different breathwork technique, but if you don't have a perfect rhythm, you're kind of missing out on some of the benefits. So when we have a perfect rhythm to synchronize to one, we don't even have to think about it as much. It's much easier, like you said, to get into the feeling, get into the actual energy of it and not get so caught up in the over conceptualizing, overthinking mind. So that's one of the biggest benefits and one of the reasons why I really love what Soma has done is having this perfect rhythm that we can synchronize to.
Thank you so much. Thank you, Simone. Thank you very, very much.
Beautiful. Kyle. Thank you so Much for the journey, for the explanations for as always, truly like the way you explain it makes so much sense. We, it's not like we don't. And I think I can, I think I can say this for many people, like, we don't receive it intellectually, but we feel it in the body, the way you explain it. So thank you for that, Trudy, because I, I do believe that there's that power. Once you are so connected to the energy, to yourself, then you can really explain something in such a way that the body feels it, the energy feels. So I thank you, brother, honestly, for that.
My pleasure. I appreciate that feedback and I appreciate you as always holding it down. I appreciate your, your hosting abilities and your ability to motivate us and excite us. And it's always a pleasure to be here with you.
Thank you so much. You see, I didn't even have to use a 2, 4 breath or 2 to breath. I energized everyone just by being here and just starting to. Dana, just one thing before we all go. Dear, dearest community. So of course please make sure as well that you share the magic of some of bread. So next week, Sunday, we are back for another Sunday Breathe Together session. But throughout this week, we are starting the five day breadth challenge. So I've actually put in the chat for the link where you can click and join because you only have a day to register for free to the five day challenge. Now, this is a different challenge compared to the one from 2024. We are in 2025 and we will be receiving different gifts in this journey through this challenge. So if you've done 2024, fantastic, well done. We salute you, we are happy. But this is a challenge that you want to do this year, 2025 with the newest input that Niraj will be bringing as well to the challenge. So from 21 January to 25 January, this challenge will run. You have date to register. So please make sure as well that you. Fantastic. Simone is enrolled. We already have people enrolled in this challenge. Fantastic. And just to remind everyone how this challenge will look like so in day one, the whole focus will be on the breadth, the essence of breadth, diving into the basics of breath so we have an understanding of what breath is. Day two will be all about rhythm of calm and how we can use the breath to suit, to calm, to relax, to tap into the parasympathetic nervous system will be guided to relieve stress and literally receive mental clarity. In day three, it's all about emotional harmony, balancing your Emotions through targeted breathwork. Day 4, Vitality through the breath. So here we're going to be elevating the energy levels with the core SOMA breath awakening techniques. And then day five, integrating breathwork. As Kyle mentioned before, and I truly am a huge believer in that as well. Integration is key to all these practices, practices. The journey itself is, is a big part, but the integration is so important. And day five will all be about integrating breadth or combining all that you've already learned into seamless daily practices so that life will not be throwing at you things that you won't be able to handle. You'll be well prepared. So my breath will prepare you for all of the chaos that sometimes the world might want you to believe exists and wants you to react or respond to. But actually with the daily practices that we're going to giving you, you can actually start calming your own nervousness and see as well what Kyle said in this session that you are energy, that the stories, the conditioning, the programs, you can zoom yourself out of that you are energy. You are way more than all the stories. And we truly invite you to sign up to this challenge and be with us for those five days from Tuesday onwards. And of course as well, this is all going to be happening in the SOA breadth app.
There's not going to be any replays. Everything will be live in the app and of in the app as well. We have instructors like Kyle guiding qigong breathwork journeys. I myself will be not hosting but guiding tomorrow, a session at 10am Eastern Time. Dream big. It's all about manifesting tomorrow. So if you feel like you really want to keep tapping into the manifestation for this year, your life, etc, join tomorrow in the app. I'll be guiding the session, the summer bread session to elevate us all. And then from Tuesday onwards we have the challenge. And I do believe as well that Kyle, you're also in the app on Friday. Am I correct?
I think so.
Yeah.
I think that.
Right?
Yep, that could be right. Yes, that could be right. And everyone, thank you so so much. The SOMA Breathwork challenge is happening from the 21st. Sign up. Now you only have one they shared as well. Share the link with your friends, family, everyone, bring everyone on board and also make sure that you check out the retreats. As Simone mentioned, she's going to Denver. Is that correct, Simone? Yes. Fantastic.
Yes.
Then we have copanyang and we've added London. Okay. There's a three day now London retreat as well in the United Kingdom. So join any of those retreats become a facilitator, become that voice of Soma Breath to your community but also use the bread for your own practices, for the power that you have and truly elevate yourself. So thank you all so much. Kyle, is there anything else that you would like to mention?
I think we summarize the main focus here. Just reminding that we are energy and maybe just kind of think about what you experienced here today. Maybe bring this into other breathwork sessions if you can. Try to connect with the subtle breath, the actual energy within rather than the physical breath and remember that we are all energy.
Beautiful. Thank you so much. Thank you everyone for joining. Thank you all for breathing together, for being together and I see you all during the breathwork challenge. See you all during next Sunday Breathe Together session. Thank you all Kyle. My pleasure. Hug everyone. Everyone let's give a virtual hug to to ourselves and to every single person here in the Zoom Room. Community is the cure. Thank you all. Many blessings your way.
