It was amazing experience. I love it.
So I didn't really expect it to be as deep, releasing and as profound as it was. I feel very aligned with Soma breath. As time went on, the releases got deeper and deeper naturally because the work that we were doing became deeper. There's just something so powerful when people come together in a community and that's the one thing I love about the Soma is you can do an individual practice in your own home, these 21 day practices, but to really come together as a group and breathe and feel that support, it's almost like you catch the wave of the person next to you. And as we all began to breathe together, I felt the support of community holding me up in spaces where I realized I had really been standing alone. It brings you closer to yourself. It brings you closer to what life is all about. It brings you closer to people that you might never have met.
I've never done anything like that before, But this was amazing. I recommend this to everybody who wants to just dance, liberate, just be free and enjoy.
A sense of peace, just a calmness that after I do this, they didn't exist before. Coming to a retreat like this is self respect. Even if you feel as though you don't love yourself and you don't like yourself as much, if you sign up to a retreat like this, it means that somewhere in your mind and your soul there is a sense of self love. Merry Christmas to everyone. Hello beautiful tribe. To just give a heart to everyone here in the screen all over the world. Hope that everyone has a beautiful holidays with your family. And I just love how he is committed on showing in the community the power of the breath and the power that is in within. So with no more words, let's just bring nigel into the room. Welcome, nigel, and thank you for being with us today.
Thank you, Claudia. Yeah, amazing introduction there. Thanks very much. It's certainly not warm and sunny where I am at the moment. You can come across to scotland for christmas time sometime if you want.
Claudia.
Come and have the cold here. Anyway, welcome everyone to this summer breath work breathe together Sunday. Yeah, just to answer claudia's question there about what the kind of theme is so that at one mint, you know, I think maybe this time of year if everyone's going to caught up in the chaos of christmas and you know, you need to kind of bring yourself back into this moment then come back into the one to the one person to the one that you are. We just do this by breathing into coherence and breathing into a rhythm, doing some breath holds. But that theme is just going to run throughout that we are coming back to ourselves to do it all again for another year. So this will be the last session for 2025 and looking forward to taking you into 2026 and have another great year of summer breath. So for those of you that are not familiar with summer breath, I'm going to go through the kind of process. What we're going to talk about is the phases of breath work and any do's and don'ts that you should and shouldn't do with the method or the breathwork. Okay. So we're going to be breathing in a rhythm. We're going to start off with a bit of an intention, and intention, obviously for today, is that at one minute. So, coming back to our coherence, just settling into this moment, that's going to last a few minutes. And then we're going to go into rhythmic breathing. So the way we do rhythmic breathing in sumar breath, the technique that we use in through your nose, on the inhale and on the exhale, you're going to breathe out through your mouth. Okay. We're going to allow the belly to expand gently. So when you breathe in your belly is the first point that's going to expand with the ribcage just gently going outwards. Not very much going into the chest. Just a nice smooth, consistent, subtle and silent rhythm. So there's not any great effort involved in that. Just breathing in and breathing out through the nose, out through the mouth. That usually lasts about four to five minutes. And we're doing four rounds of breath work today. So each round is going to be slightly different when it comes to the ratio of when we're breathing in and breathing out. So we're going to do four in, four out for the first two rounds, a two in and a two out for the third round, and a four in and an eight out on the last round, ending that nice, relaxing, longer exhalation, which will promote that real feeling of. Of being chilled out and being relaxed and being in that moment. Okay. But I'm going to guide you through every step of the way, so please don't try and remember this or get worried that you're not going to remember this throughout. So we're doing that rhythmic breathing for four to five minutes. And after that we're going to take a full breath in and then we exhale and we exhale to that comfortable place. You can empty your lungs or you can just come to that spot where you've breathed out enough and you're happy with that. You're in a comfortable sweet spot. And here's where we hold our breath or we call a breath retention. So this is an exhale and hold your breath. Now, if you're new to breathwork, at some point you might feel that you have this urge to breathe. It gets quite strong. And what you might feel is that your, your belly, your diaphragm starts to kind of twitch or flutter. You might start to feel that you're getting a little bit stressed. So be aware of that. This is what we call the fear response. Now, we just want to be aware that we have this thing called the recovery breath. So, so at some point, if you feel that you're getting a bit too much with the breath hold, it's getting a bit overwhelming. You can take a very short, sharp sip of air through your nose like that, and then breathe out. So what you're doing is just topping up a little bit and you come back to that breath hold once again. Now you might take two or three of those if you're not that familiar with breath retentions. So then after that, which lasts for about a minute and a half to two minutes to kind of 90 seconds to 120 seconds, then it's a full breath in again. So another breath in, but this time we don't let go of it. We hold it and we hold. And as we're holding that breath, I'm going to stay really relaxed. But the one muscle or the area you want to be squeezing is your pelvic floor muscles. Those are muscles you use to stop yourself from going to toilet, squeezing and holding those muscles. And there's an energy you're going to be bringing up through the spine. So imagine that like a stretch source or an energy coming up through the body and it's going to reach that point between the eyes and you're directing that energy up. Hold on to that for about 30 seconds. And then we let go and we come back to our normal breathing pattern, quite relaxed. And I guide you back into another round of breath work. But again, this is guided. I'll take you through every step of the way. So please don't worry if you are losing it already with the guidance. Okay? So it's all guided for you. So those of you having the following conditions, I'm just gonna read them straight from my phone here. So breath work is safe, generally for most people. But if you fall into any categories that you have any of the following issues, then it's the retention. So it's the breath holding that we want you to not do. Okay? The rhythmic breathing, fantastic for everyone. There are no contraindications or risks involved in that. Okay. So severe or critical diseases or infections. If it impairs your ability to breathe, severe uncontrolled hypertension, usually after a heart attack, organ failure or late stage terminal illness. If you're pregnant, if you have epilepsy, a pacemaker or a regular heartbeat, with exception, if you have doctor's permission. So if you have any following those, then the retentions, we advise you not to take part in the retentions. Okay, so there are other. Some, some Other observations that you want to listen to as well. So if you have conditions like tinnitus or hernias, then anything that's kind of forceful or can aggravate those conditions. So we're not going to be doing any of the forceful mouth breathing or any forceful kind of breath work. It's all quite relaxed and chilled out, quite coherent. So if you do experience tinnitus or hernias during the breath holds, if you want to. If you're sitting upright, you can nod your chin to your chest and that will help alleviate or stop, prevent that pressure from building up within your head. Okay? So at any point, if you feel overwhelmed or you feel that you're out of your comfort just a bit too much, just return back to your normal breathing rhythm. Just go back to what is relaxing for you. Alright, so the session is going to last. We're going to be here for probably 50 minutes to an hour, giving you time to come round for the meditation. If you have headphones, I really encourage you to put headphones on, but if not, just enjoy the music. Just from your device, I'm going to get you all to stand up. We're going to do some shaking for five minutes or so just to shake our bodies, to change our state, to bring in a bit of squeezing out the adrenaline. So find yourself a space. But then also we're going to come back down to lying or sitting immediately after that. Okay, so let me just share my sound and we shall begin. So get yourselves up into a space. If you can't stand, it's fine, you can do this. Got a shaking movement sitting down, it's entirely up to you. All right, we are ready to go, so you should be able to hear that music. Okay, just with me then, just shaking your body a little bit, just kind of rolling the shoulders into your nose and out through your mouth. Just see that tension, just distributing it around your body energetically. You are free to do whatever you wish in this moment, in this space. This shaking is really good. You can move your arms and stretch whatever you want or just simply turn up the dial on that shake gradually. Make it stronger and stronger than you know. Is that every. You love your life? I love my life, Yes. Breathe in and as you breathe out, let go the sound or a noise. Even if you're sitting, you can do movements, your arms, if you're lying, shaking.
Rolling.
Just generally just dancing and moving the body. If you want to charge up the breath. And with me. One more time, let's stretch our arms up, breathing in, hold it squeeze every muscle and then let it go and shake again. Ah, yes. I love my life.
That's right. I love my life.
I love my life.
What?
I love my life. I love my life. Let's turn it up. Turn up the D. I love my life. Shake it, shake it, shake it. Last one of 20, 25.
Shake it.
Let's vibrate. Let's move together.
Y.
I love my life.
I love my life.
I love my life. Sing it. I love my life. I love my life.
That's right.
That'S right. That's right.
Shake it, shake it, shake it. Last minute half.
Let's go.
Shake together. Move your body. One more and squeeze and let it go.
All right.
And I just slow it down. Slow it down.
Again.
Just bring it to stop. Reach our arms up and breathe in together. Nice. Okay, Come and lie down. Come and sit down. Bring yourself into that space. Make yourself comfortable lying down or sitting, everyone you prefer. And simply become aware of the sound, any sound that draws your attention. Maybe your breath. Become aware of that. After all that shaking and that movement. Let's let the breath slow down. Inhale and exhale, becoming aware of your breath. Or maybe becoming aware of your heartbeat by placing your hand on your heart and just tuning into that natural rise and fall of your chest, Allowing your body to sink and surrender with every breath. So we have that sensation of just letting go, of returning back into your body. How does the body feel? How does the weight feel? Unclench the jaw, relax your hands.
Let.
Your eyes just gently hang. The eyelids are heavy, so heavy that you can hardly open them back up again. This beautiful expanse of just you, your breath, your body, your heartbeat, slowly becoming tuned into these internal rhythms. Be less aware of anything around about you as you go deeper into this place within. Maybe even the sound of the flute is drawing you in, extricating you from the chaos, bringing you slowly back into coherence. And as we slowly breathe into this journey of at One Mint, where we begin by returning to the one.
To.
Remind ourselves of the energetic tone, how we can regulate our nervous system, how can prepare our mind for coherence to come back into balance. The art of returning to your natural state of unity, A state where the knots of the mind loosen, Where the stories fall away. For you, remember that you are not separate from life, but you are woven into the fabric of everything. Breathing into your nose, allowing the belly and the ribs to expand, opening the ribs out like a fan. And as you release, breathing out, letting.
Go.
More than just the breath, gently untangling. Reconnecting with your consciousness as threads of light. Again, another breath in through your nose, the ribs opening out like a fan. And exhale. Let them all come back together, sinking, unsettling, the natural boundaries of your body. Beginning to soften. Your mind beginning to.
Come.
Reconnecting with yourself, reconnecting with others. And with the universal intelligence that guides all things. By connecting with the breath.
I have.
And breathing together at the same time.
With this.
Global coherence, Breath softens. Each breath awakens. And once again, a breath in through your nose. But this time at the top. Hold it and squeeze every single muscle. Your hands, your shoulders, your pelvic floor, your abdominals. And then exhale. Exhale. Let it go. As we prepare for our first round of breath, The unraveling, the activation of the light. Breathing in for four and out for four. In a smooth, connected, subtle and silent rhythm. We release any mental clutter. Bring back in the calmness, bring back in the coherence. Ready to breathe in the rhythm, to breathe in the beats. Gentle except expansion on the inhale through your nose and letting go, softening and surrendering on the exhalation. So take a breath in and breathe out. Here we go.
10. 2, 3, 4.
Out.
2, 3, 4, 10.
Let the guidance of the breath guide you through this first round.
2.
Smooth and subtle and sound breathing to unravel.
4. Act 2, 3, 4, 10. 2.
Any tightness, any overthinking.
4.
Loosen the ground and breathe back.
2, 3, 4. 3. 2.
Smooth on your inhale and smooth on the exhale.
2, 3, 4. Perfect rhythm in 2, 3, 4. And 2, 3, 4 and 8.
Focus on the transition between the breaths. Make it smooth.
4, 10.
You hardly notice that transition.
4. And 2, 3, four. And 2, 3, 4, 8, 10. 3, 4 and 2, 3, 4. 2, 3, 4.
There are no gaps, there are no pauses. There are no breaks between inhale and the exhale. Smoothing Consistent 2, 3, 4. With every invite.
2.
Every inhale.
4.
And every exhale. Release what is tangled. Bring in that clarity.
In 2, 3, 4. Back. 2, 3, 4. In, 2, 3, 4. 10. 2, 3, 4.
In through your nose and out through your mouth. Connect.
Three, four.
You're in your breath.
Two, three, four, Four. Out. Two, three, four. Three, four, five. Two, three, four. In.
How does the breath feel now?
Four.
As you journey deeper into that breath.
Three, four.
Smoother, more relaxed, effortless.
Four. Two.
Maybe the breath is guiding you now.
Four.
You're following it. You're observing that breath.
Me.
With each breath, reconnecting with yourself. Reconnecting with other souls in together.
4, 3, 4, 3, 4. 3, 2, 3, 4, 3, 4.
Keep breathing. Keep connecting.
4. Back.
The transition form the inhale, the exhale.
4, 2, 3, 4. And 2, 3, 4.
Out.
2, 3, 4, 8. 2, 3, 4, eight. 2, 3, 4, 3rd, 2, 3, 4.
Last few breaths in an array. Deepening the breath.
4.
The belly, the ribs 2. The expansion 4. And letting go. The perfect cycle, perfect rhythm. It's not the depth, it's the rhythm.
3, 4, 2, 3, 4. And 2, 3, 4, 3, 4.
And now together with the full breath and breathe in. And inhale and expand and exhale, release. Find the comfortable place to hold your breath, to press the pause button. To soften and to surrender. To imagine the spaciousness opening in your mind like a clearing. Calmness of your mind is one of the most beautiful jewels of wisdom. So allow yourself this drop into it. Relax your jaw, your eyes, your shoulders. But if you do have that urge to breathe in any point you want to, you can take that gentle sip of air and exhale. Seeing your old patterns dissolving like a mist, dispersing, floating away, becoming aware and feeling your. Your system just soften, settling, regulating.
As.
You allow your inner world to become open and receptive. You have 10 seconds remaining on this breath retention. Step out the comfort zone and hold your breath. And together with the full breath in, let's breathe in.
Together.
Full breath in. Breathe in, breathe in, breathe in. And here we hold the inhale, hold and squeeze the pelvic floor muscle, the mulabanda. Squeeze and direct and hold and send that energy like a charge of light. Send it up through your spine, up to your midbrain and hold and connect with it. And if you are ready, then let it go. And the feel our breath returning to its natural pace, natural rhythm. Immersing yourself in this silence. As we prepare for round two. To entangle with the universal field. To expand our energy, to connect your heart and your brain. That synchronicity. Now that our mind is clearer, we enter into connection. Bring your awareness to your heart. And if it helps, place one of your hands on your heart just for a few seconds. And just tune into that. That pulse, that movement, subtle movement. And just feel that rhythm with each breath. Each breath syncing with that natural rhythm of your heart. Almost as if you're breathing in through your heart and breathing out through your heart. This is the rhythm that all life breathes to reconnect with it. Every breath, your heart expands. And with every breath out, your heart relaxes. And that aura, that field of Energy around about you. It grows with connection and it reaches far and wide. As we get ready for round two. Breathing in for four and out for four. Imagine breathing into your heart and breathing out through your heart. Breathing into coherence. Smooth and supple and silent. Once again, a gentle inhale and exhale. Breathing into your heart. Every breath. Your heart sinking this universal rhythm.
2, 3, 4. Back.
Life in every breath.
3, 4, 8. 4. Back 2, 3, 4. 3, 4, 3, 4. Out. 2, 3, 4. In. 2, 3, 4. Out.
You are not alone. We breathe together.
2, 3, 4. Out. 2, 3, 4.
You are entangled with everything with each breath. For reconnecting back to 3, 4. In every breath, there's a bridge between.
You.
And the greater whole.
4. Out.
Smooth and something.
3.
Silent Connected Breathe. Deepen that breath.
2, 3, 4. And 2, 4. And 2, 3, 4 and 2, 4. Back 2, 3, 4 and 2,. Back 2, 3, 4. And.
Heart expanding on the breath in. Growing with every breath.
Connecting Back to everyone. 3, 4, Four. Back two, three, four and two and four. And two, three.
With every exhale. Dissolving those old patterns back.
Letting go three, four and two, three, four. Back two, three, four and two and four.
Last few breaths in Nana. Keep breathing. Keep connecting. Deepen into the breath. Let it go.
3, 4, 3, 4. Back 2, 3, 4. Back 2, 3, 4.
Now take that full breath in. Breathe in and breathe out. Press the pause button. Find the sweet spot. Hold your breath. Sensing your consciousness. Expanding as you hold further and deeper. At any point you can take that savings to prevail. A step out the comfort zone. You are safe. No harm will come to you. You are right here at this moment, exactly where you need to be. Relaxing your eyes, your shoulders. Feeling the full weight of your body.
Deeper and deeper.
Letting go of more. You have 10 seconds remaining with this breath. Now breathing in. Take that full breath in.
Hold your breath.
Hold the inhale and squeeze and hold and direct and send a spiral of light, pulse of energy. Whatever color comes forward for you, send that energy upwards. Make it bigger, make it brighter. And if you are ready, then exhale without ah. And let it go. Allow the breath to be free. To find its own way, to find its own path. We dissolve the separation. We access the unified self. The true meaning of at one men. The deeper inner union. The core of what that means to you. Allowing your identity, your rules and your worries to soften. Sensing yourself simply dissolving into pure awareness. With no edges, no boundaries, only being, only presence. The unity of body, of breath, of mind, of Heart and consciousness all merging together. In round three, we'll breathe in for two and out for two. Once again, breathing in and breathing out. There we go. In for two, out for two.
Two. Two out, two in. Two out, two in, two out, two.
Squeezing the mulabanda on the in here, two in. And releasing it on the exhale. Two in two. Gentle squeeze in the in and release.
Let go.
Feeling that wave, but feel good emotion as it leaves your body. Breathing together, feeling the unity in the body and the breath, mind and the heart, the consciousness, all together as one embodiment of that 1, 2 left.
Two in, two. In, two out. Two in two, 2 in, 2 out.
2 in, 2 out, 2 and breathe in. Take that full breath in. Hold and squeeze. Connect. Hold a bit longer.
Hold.
And then exhale. Once again. Here we hold our breath. Settle into the silence, settle into the space. Be at one. Don't be afraid.
To go deeper, to.
Let go just a bit more. The stillness, the vibration, the truth, here in the spaciousness is where we remember who we are. You have 10 seconds remaining with this breath retention. You are amazing. You are a miracle. So with me, let's take that full breath in. And breathe in and squeeze. And direct and charge. And send all that beautiful bright light all the way up through the spine, sending upwards, making it bigger, making it brighter, turning up that dial. Hold and squeeze. And if you are ready, only if you are ready and let it go that I. Let your breath be free. Returning to source. Embrace this moment. Accept the invitation. To fully immerse and be at one.
Satan.
Together we are the sum. One body, one breath, one mind. So let's take a drink of the Soma one more time. Let's breathe together. Let's breathe to reweave and to integrate, to bring back a full embodiment. One breath, one moment, one choice at a time. We are the soul. Let's remind ourselves. We bring back the unity into our daily life. Let's breathe softer. Let's exhale for longer. Our final round together is where we draw the unity that we discovered, invited back into our physical body. Our relationships, our choices, our reality.
Sam.
Our final round. We breathe in for four and exhale for eight. A slow exhalation, almost as if you're breathing out through a straw through pursed lips. To extend the exhale to fully immerse. Turn up that dial and what it feels like, like what it looks like or it sounds like to be at one. Again. Breathing in and breathing out. In, 2, 3, 4. Out, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. In with each inhale, drawing the field of oneness into yourselves. And with exhale, spread that unity through your whole life.
8.
In, 2, 3, 4. Out.
2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
Inhale.
Exhale. And letting go.
Inhale.
Exhale. Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale. Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale. Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale. Exhale. Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale. Exhale.
Inhale. Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Exhale.
And with that, full breath in. Breathe in and breathe out. Hold your breath and set the intention that you will walk in the world from a place of coherence, of compassion, of clarity. From this point forward, step into the silence, into the one. You have 10 seconds remaining on this breath retention. So together, breathe in and hold and squeeze and charge and send this energy up through the spine, integrating the universal into the personal, the infinite into the finite, the cosmic into the human. Hold and squeeze and charge and send and direct beautiful light all the way up through the spine, holding and squeezing and directing. And then exhale. Allow the breath to be free. And affirm these words in your mind. I am connected to all that is. I am whole. I am complete. I am enough. I relax into the oneness that guides me. I trust the intelligence of life moving through me. I see myself clearly. I feel others clearly. My heart is open. My mind is spacious. I have a peaceful presence in the world. I am one. All is one. I return to myself. I return to the whole. Enjoy the space that you have created. These last few minutes are for you and no one else.
It's. It.
And as we return gently back to the room, the space we're in, keeping your eyes closed, I invite you to take one more breath with me, breathing in and gently. Exhale, returning back with clarity, connection, and the calm, knowing that you are never separate. You are always at one, wiggling your fingers and your toes, Moving your body, stretching. And when you feel ready and doing at your own pace, your own time, Count down from three and open your eyes if you're ready. Thank you all for being here and taking part in this. Breathe together Sunday. My name is Nigel McCollum. I'm joined with our hosts, Claudia and Monica. I'll be here if anyone wants to come and share or ask any questions. But please integrate yourself gently. Take your time.
Much less.
Oh, my God. I barely open my eyes. I can barely open my eyes. I'm so relaxed. So it Was so amazing. Beautiful Journey says in the chat. Thank you. It was beautiful. Anyone who wants to share anything with Nigel, please just click in the hand icon. I can give you the room with him for any questions or sharing that you want with him. Thank you. Beautiful delivery. Very good. Thank you so much, Nigel. This was so lovely. And counting. So we have Ping. I'm going to just put her here. Hello, Ping. There you go. Hello, dear Nigel. Thank you. That was absolutely out of the world.
I would.
I don't know where I was is in a different space. Okay. My question is how is there any way through the breath? Can we helping with tinnitus?
Good question. Yeah. Tinnitus is like a negative feedback loop that, you know, comes round and your body tunes into it, you become aware of it. So every time you hear it, you hear it, you connect with it, you affirm that it's there. So there's quite advice I've heard that you can do with tinnitus is that when you do acknowledge it, say first thing in the morning, or when you do hear it at some point, instead of seeing it as a negative thing as like, oh, it's you, you're back again. It's ringing in my ears is to make friends with that noise so it's no longer such an assault in your space because, oh, hi, it's you, how are you today? You know, how's things going for you? That's one of the most common things that I've heard is to make friends with the tinnitus. But we have to watch. We're doing breathwork because breathwork, holding our breath can just slightly aggravate that because of the pressure built up during both the exhale and the inhale. So it's something we just gotta watch and observe. I've had periods of it myself where it's been that's been there and it's that broken record that's on a loop that you have to find some way of breaking that loop so you come out of that. So the attachment to it is what I would say is something to focus on is how you approach that attachment to tinnitus. And whether it's a negative thing or a positive charge, if you like. And that way you might stop tuning into it as much or seeing it as something that is really, really negative.
The. The only way I found the one I do the humming, you know.
Yeah, that's another distraction.
Vibration is kind of a cover and it kind of a good. But soon that you know, then get quiet for very short time, then after come back again. So it just like there all the time I was thinking something I needed to get rid of it. Okay. I'm friends with them with the design.
Try it. Yeah. There's nothing, nothing ventured, nothing gained, you.
Know, from the sand or some from universe. Want to tell me something?
A frequency that's we can. That's where you can reframe it as it's a frequency that's showing you something, showing you, teaching you to become resilient, you know, to not let the tinnitus rule you.
Yeah.
Thank you, Ping.
Thank you, Ping. Thank you for that amazing sharing. And we have more comments. Another new favorite. Thank you. I look forward for the repaint again and again and again. Teresa's does that purple, pink and yellow light. Beautiful. Thank you. Gorgeous session. Thanks, Nigel, for this beautiful and calming breathwork session. It was powerful and calming at the same time. So many wonderful comments in the chat, Nigel, for this incredible session. So thank you again. Remember guys, that you can repeat or watch the replay with Nigel. If you are a Summer Breath app member, you can watch Nigel's replays, be with him in the week with other sessions and also watch the other instructors replays or be without an instructor's life. So that is the best way to make it happen in your life. You just, you know, download the app and become a member. Oh, at the. Oh, no. So thank you again. It was very much needed. My soul was starving. I so needed this for my survival. Thank you, Nigel. So again, amazing comments in the chat. We have Dina, Diana. Yes.
Okay.
We hear you. We hear you, girl.
Hey, diana.
Thank you for being with us every Sunday. Diana, we love you, sending you love and peace and thank you for being with us again this Sunday.
Yeah, thank you.
Thank you, Dana. So there's someone who says sometimes when it comes to holding the breath during the exhale, I feel like I have to take another deep breath and release to hold again. Is that okay?
So you mean like a kind of double exhalation in between? I think if you were just beginning with breathwork and those little snippets, those little interventions you can do just to help you get into that place of holding your breath and kind of rewrite the experience. You know, if you are new and that holding your breath out is a bit of a trigger for you, then another additional inhale, exhale might not be a bad thing. Or maybe try when you exhale not to exhale as deeply as what you've been doing on that final retention, that final breath out is to take it to Like I said, at the beginning of comfortable exhalation, so you've still got that little bit left in the tank. So that's not going to take you into that fear response really quickly. So play around with it. Ultimately, we just want to exhale, hold our breath and soften. Let your belly go, your shoulders relax, drop your chin if you're sitting upright. Anything that's going to help you promote that. But obviously rewriting the neural path with this is a good thing. So is a positive experience, it's a positive stress and eventually it will just start to happen. So at the beginning, yes, it's okay. But eventually try and progress onto being on that single exhalation and then holding your breath.
Yes, excellent explanation. And people who are asking about the replay, if you are a big. If you are a summerpress app member, you will be able to watch the replay. It will be for some hours in the YouTube channel. But if you want to just like watch it tomorrow or maybe Tuesday, on Wednesday, you need to be a Soma breath app member. So again, Monica is going to share the app link for you to download and become a member. That's the best way to don't miss any amazing session. Ping. Do you have your hand up again? Do you want to. Do you have another question? Yes.
Okay.
Sorry, I forgot asking. I put the breath fit that calls that 11 days once. But is it on the app or I couldn't find it or is there separate. So when I access. I couldn't, I could not see an Apple or.
Colta. Any idea?
Yes, I can answer that. It's not in the app. It is in another platform. So when you buy that course, you need to sign in with an email. Right. And with that email you will be having access to the course. So the best way to do it if you are confused is to please email monica supportumabreate.com and they will give you all the steps to get into the course. But it's not in the app. You will not find it in the app. So I have to sign different difference from the app. You know the password. Everything is. Is the new one. Yes, it's a very different. Yeah, okay. But again, if you, if you email supportunabret.com they will help you for sure. Monika is best. The best support team in the world. Okay, thank you.
Thank you.
Yeah, you're welcome. Okay, so before we go, Nigel, last words to say goodbye to. Oh, we have Victoria, wait. Victoria, Hello. Do you have a question? Please just unmute.
Oh, yes.
Hi. Sorry, I was muted So I wanted to share that. That was so wonderful of like, I'm somebody who can get really in my thoughts and absorbed in my thoughts. And that was such a beautiful experience to really practice owning that I'm not my thoughts. And I'm really grateful for that. And I had a question. So sometimes when I do breath work, including with the four, four breaths, I'll feel like a cramp on my like right side kind of near my rib cage. And I was wondering with that, is that something that you all find kind of just gently eases up over time or kind of listening to one's body?
Yeah, good question. Anything like that, that is kind of lower ribcage or that side could be something physical. There are many, many kind of reasons for it, but it could be something physical. Like your diaphragm actually is not moving that well on the right hand side. So you can do things like placing your hands on your sides of your ribcage, you know, just like here and where that tightness is, where that, that, that feeling is, breathe into that. So you're actually encouraging the ribs to kind of move open like that. This is what we want is the diaphragm to be moving. And this is the key to kind of getting into this, you know, this full capacity of your lungs. So it could be your diaphragm maybe just a bit stuck or frozen on one side. So try that. You know, even, even lean over to one side and breathe into that side a bit more, if that helps. It could be energetically. It could be something else holding in there that is, you know, you're needing to let go of. So there's a few kind of explanations for it. But yeah, it's something that does come up a bit. And through practice, if you get that diaphragm moving, it should release and you might find you have an emotional release alongside it as well.
Thank you so much.
Now thanks for being here, Victoria. Thanks for your comments. Thank you.
