Gut Healing Renegade Smoothie Recipe

A short YouTube video transcript in which Niraj (Neeraj) Naik, the ‘renegade pharmacist,’ demonstrates his chocolate smoothie recipe—an avocado-based ‘renegade smoothie’ made with colostrum, maca, raw cacao, coconut water, and ghee. He explains ingredient amounts (rough measures: a whole avocado, tablespoons of colostrum, maca, and cacao, a spoonful of ghee) and asserts nutritional benefits—healthy fats, minerals, antioxidants, growth/immune factors in colostrum, and gut-healing properties—then blends and tastes the smoothie.

Hey, this is Neeraj, the renegade pharmacist. This video, I'm gonna show you how I make my favorite smoothie in the world. No, it's not McDonald's chocolate smoothies, which they used to be my favorite milkshakes, but then I realized how bad they were for you. It's actually my own version of a chocolate milkshake, which is incredibly healthy. Okay, here's why. So I have my root secret ingredient, avocado. Now, not many people know how amazing avocado tastes when combined with chocolate. I first tried this in Bali, actually, because they actually do a lot of smoothies with chocolate and avocado together. And I was like, wow, that's super creamy. It tastes delicious.
So what I do is I literally add in at least a whole avocado. The tiny little avocados like this by adding a whole one to my blender. Now, avocados are also not only very creamy and nice and delicious as a base, but very, very rich in fibers, and they're also rich in minerals as well and healthy fats. So this is actually a very good source of healthy fats if you're a vegetarian or vegan. So avocado makes my base, and then obviously I always add my renegade colostrum. Okay. So if you're a vegetarian, well, a vegan, let's say, who doesn't have any kind of animal products, then you leave this one out. But if you're like me, vegetarian, who likes to eat.
Dairy in the form of ghee and colostrum. Okay. Also yogurts. I do like fermented yogurts as well. Then you're going to love this stuff because this is so creamy, so delicious. And what it actually is, is the first food that.
An infant will ever get. So the first food that you receive as a baby is called colostrum from your mother. And it's actually the most complete source of nutrition we have. It contains all the vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and healthy fats that you need in a complete food that's super absorbable. So this I like to give a nice, generous dose of because.
It is full of so many good nutrients. Okay. And if you're somebody who suffers from, like, leaky gut and things like that, this is a very powerful healer because of the growth factors, the immune factors, and things like that. If you're somebody who likes to work out, if you're a bodybuilder, you like to get ripped, this can help you as well because of the very, very high quality source of protein you're going to be getting as well. And the fact that it's packed with growth factors. Okay, so I add a tablespoon of that. Next favorite ingredient is maca. So maca is a powder.
Root that comes from the South American jungles, the Amazonian jungles. And basically this was a staple food for them because it's so potent. And actually they call it like a.
It's like the food of love because it contains a lot of zinc and other ingredients actually that give it kind of this like aphrodisiac like effect as well. It's very energizing. Very, very energizing because it's full of B vitamins and minerals and lots of goodness. So I put another tablespoon of this and it has like a malty taste to it. So it gives the smoothie a nice kind of malty taste as well. I'm quite generous with my servings. I add like nice big heaped tablespoons. Then my super ingredient, which is cacao. So raw cacao, I put another two big tablespoons. Now into this.
Okay? Now, cacao, not only is it delicious and tastes amazing, it makes smoothies taste like something from heaven. But they are actually. It's also very, very, very rich in antioxidants and minerals, vitamins and healthy fats as well. So chocolate is like a complete source of a lot of good nutrients as well. So not only does it taste delicious, but it gives a nice.
Amount of extra nutrients into our potion. So then what I like to do is to add.
Coconut water as my.
The real base of the whole smoothie. It's also high in minerals and it's also very tasty and it gives like that sweetness to.
The concoction. So I'm going to add some of this.
And then what I also add usually is.
Ghee is my.
I've been told that the ghee is now in this compartment. Okay, that's it in the fridge.
Ghee is a staple food in India. So ghee is actually like something that my, my family have used for many, many, many, many years. They add it to all kinds of stuff, like to curries, to chapatis. And what ghee does is, what it is is clarified butter. So it's the most purest form of butter that you can get. What they do is they separate the fat from milk and then you get ghee. It's very creamy, very delicious. In my opinion. Not everyone likes the taste of it, but I love the taste of it when you add it to things like smoothies because it gives it that kind of overall creamy texture. And it's also very, very good for you. It's full of very good healthy fats and it also helps pull out toxins from your guts, but it also helps absorb toxins nutrients from the potion that we made here.
Back in through your digestive system into your bloodstream. So all the fat soluble vitamins and minerals are more easily absorbed when you add a bit of ghee to the mixture. So I'm quite generous with my ghee as well. I'd usually put like a teaspoon in, but I'm actually just squeezing out some here to make it easier and quicker. So not all of you are going to be as messy as I am, hopefully. But I'm just doing this for the sake of the video, to do it quickly. So I'm just adding in a tablespoon of ghee as well. That should be enough. Then you just keep adding a little bit of coconut water just to.
Add enough to make into a smoothie.
And then we just screw on the top.
Stick it back onto our blender.
And blend.
So I use a ninja mix. Ninja. It's really good.
And then.
Very excited to see how this tastes. So I'm just going to unscrew the top.
And here we go. We have a nice smoothie.
Spot on. Let's see the camera girl's reaction.
Nice. Yes. There you go. Mission success.
